Hi guys (& girls), I need to ask a favour. I have recently found that my speedo dial has broken and all of the dials came in a pack that contained both non-turbo and turbo dials. I would like to appeal to any of you that bought a set for your NA and do not need the turbo speedo dial. I am willing to pay for it, but this route will be a lot easier than getting a replacement from the manufacturers, as they only produce the full kit. The following members all bought these dials so I am appealing directly to you: Aaronkizmet, Adef, BAZZ, Big Marty, Daves_Zed, Devil, Fairladyzgirl, Gordy2885, HH300ZX, icu812, JJP, Komarme, Iahsx, Niceguyindahous, …

hi everyone, having now drove my Z round for a while I have noticed a couple of things, could anyone please advise me. 1 - I sometimes get quite a loud vibration which starts at around 30 and dosent go away at any speed, sometimes its fine, any ideas? 2 - on way back from leeds yesterday I noticed the oil pressure was reading just above 0 going upto about 30 when i revved, I stopped checked the oil level which was half way between min and max, started car and still got same oil pressure readings, had some oil in car so filled it up to max mark on dipstick and hey presto, normal oil pressure readings, i.e. just under 30 cruising and on tickover, and upto 60 when …

Ok the Z is still broken. Its got a really bad vibration under load at varying engine and road speeds. It needs looking at and i've not driven it for a 3 weeks. Its under warrenty at a BMW garage but i have to pay for the investigation into the problem and only the part and labour are covered if something is broken. My thought was whats the point in giving it to a BMW garage to look at when i can get a specialist to have a look???? Whats your thoughts?? Go for BMW and hope the brobs covered or get it sorted properly at cost?? Bearing in mind i upgraded loads on this car recently and am a little short on savings. Any garage recomendations in and ar…

  6. Hi All As you know my engine has died. Im in a dilema as to build it up or just go with a standard engine. Can anyone tell me what kind of power I can get from a standard engine with uprated hybrid turbos decat, divorced wastegates and 555's? Also is this sensible or is it going go pop? Thanks all

I am getting a slight coolant smell in the cabin but ONLY when the car is at idle. cant find any drips or wet patches on the matt under the heater matrix so dont think that is leaking. What could it be that only shows itself when at idle and not at all during a long motorway journey?

I know that there exists a heater diagnostic you can perform from TTnet http://www.ttzd.com/tech/autocctech.html but if have the heaters that justy gives the set temperature and the ambient temperature not the fan speed and direction etc. Will this method work or is there another diagnosis method for these heaters?

As I posted before, my ZED chucks its water out when I give it some stick. I thought the system was pressurizing from either a crack in the head or block. BUT, today I got round to running it up and putting a Block Tester on it, this proved negative, No gas in the water. :hyper: Now, I've been wracking my brain and realised that this problem started after I fitted a lightened and smaller underdrive pulley so the pump isn't turning so quickly. the engine runs fine, sweet as, no misfire or any other tell tale sign of a crack in the cylinder area. Has anybody else had cooling probs due to underdrive pulley or a weak water pump?? The temp gauge does not go over …

My N/A has developed a missfire..... On the journy home it cleared after, 1/2 a mile? Anyway seems more consistant now, ive pulled all the connectors off and each one makes a change in noise apart from the one at the back on the right of the engine, as u look at it, Behind all the pipes etc.... I managed to get a knife between the pipes and prize the connector off, if this isnt creating a change in noise is that likely to be the problem zone? Is getting to this connector hard? being behind loads of crap, if so Theres no way i can try a diff coil pack as im a total newbie. Any ideas?

My son bought a new turbo, GT3082 ball bearing. It arrived and we thought that maybe we had been sold a Chinese copy. I spoke to Turbo Technics, they could not have been more helpful. My son took it over there Saturday morning and the owner Jeff Kershaw had a look and set my sons mind at rest. All for no charge and no profit to them. Good old fashioned nice people. They will always be my first call in the future for anything turbo related.

Engine was taken out 3 weeks ago by a very good mechanic but sadly he has had to leave the refit for three weeks and is now finding it a nightmare sorting all the vacuum and sensor rubber lines. I've looked at the manual but the pictures are rubbish. Anyone Know where else to look? TT. If there is a Zed in the Norfolk(Swaffam,Downham market area) that we could possibly have a look at could you let me know, I will reward. Many thanks :smash:
