General Discussions - 300ZX Related

My series 2 (airbag model cruise control is on a stalk) is not working. If I push the button on the right side pod to turn it on, the green light on the clocks to show that the system is active, does turn on... but when I use the stalk to engage it, nothing happens.... Any ideas?

My speedo isn't working at the mo and instead of stripping it i'm looking for a quick fix. sooo...... Do i get a Pogo Drive (sat nav and speed gun), a Road angel Navigator (also Sat nav and speed gun) or... Do i get a racelogic Performance box which can record 0-60 runs, 1/4mile, bhp, g's etc. All of the above will display my speed. The sensible option would be a all in one sat nav and speed gun thingy but which one??? I think the Pogo aka origin one is the better one but not sure. Or do i go for the gadget, racelogics performance box?? I really could do with a sat nav and speed doo dar but the performance box is a want thing.

Saw it go past the broadmarsh centre (where the busses are) then over the bbc round about next to the shell garage. Only saw the back, had the strip lights and it was black.

I have a 300zx n/a that needs a new set of down pipes and cats, can anybody tell me if turbo down pipes are the same or are they different or is it just the turbo elbows? Thanks very much. Jason

Hi all, Does anyone have a second hand coil pack for sale? Am running on 5 cylinders and my car's missing. (No jokes please.....I know where I've left it he he). Managed to figure out that it's a coil pack that I need, it seems to be making a clicking sound and when I touch the metal bracket I get a small electric shock. Does anyone know if they can be fixed? If not roughly how much are they and where can I get one? Cheers!

Hi all, Drove the other day and the car drove like pants, coughing and missing. Still ran ok, but you could feel it was missing. Checked under the bonnet and found that cylinder No.1 nearside had sparks coming from it, between the coil pack and the connector. So I fiddled around with it and made no difference. Disconnected it and re-connected it and the revs made no difference. The next day started it and ran great, like it was on 6 and no sparks, but when I disconnected the the connector, it still made no difference to the revs, so I pressume I'm still running on 5. Does anyone know off-hand if its a dead coil pack or spark plug.....or something el…

Do any nismo injectors come in Pink? Somene trying to sell me 740cc injectors they claim are Nismo 90-93 drop ins .

hey guys just looked over a 1992 k uk auto tt last week and when i took it a test drive it seemed ok. but after driving for about 5 mins, when i floored it the boost guage went up but there was no surge in power. and there was a belt squeal and some kind of "whoosh/rattle" kinda sound, this was at 40-45 mph. when i stopped and spoke to the guy i said there must be turbo problems. he tried to start it up and it wouldnt go. then discovered no petrol in car. after the initial test id already decided to walk away. guy text me half hour later saying running great with no problems after putting petrol in it. said it was air con belts making noise. now, if it was just petrol, wo…

What is it that a zed owner would like to see at a garage , friendly honest staff , fixed prices , cheaper prices , want to ask the people that matter , any input welcome , anyone had bad experineces that has made them sceptical of zed garages

Can anyone tell me if/where you can buy the connectors for the wiring looms. I am hoping to make up complete new looms using aircraft grade wire,(Heat proof, much smaller diameter and greater flexibility etc)with the hope of re-routing and moving some of the components. I've got, 'fingers crossed'. a LHD series 1 subframe coming my way which I am using on my passenger side to retro-fit electric pax seat. Is there power in that footwell like there is on the drivers' side or will I have to run some power to it? cheers

Hi guys,ive seen a nice zed for sale,its a uk car with service history,but its got the dreaded knock sensor fault,so its down on power. Ive looked through the archives but cannot find a definate answer to the bypass that can be done with a resistor,does it actually work,or is it a temporary fix,or should it be done properly,as am i right in thinking its an expensive job to correct? The rest of the car is fine,but cant really tell if alls well when theres no power!!

Heavy rain and Hicas warning light came on on long drive .Steering was heavy.Checked P/S fluid and all ok.After standing for over an hour ;resumed trip and all fine ..didn't come back ..Question :could rain be responsible?Anyone else had this happen?Anything I should check from here? Cheers Rich

With regards the manual conversion, is it possible to use the auto box loom as to my knowledge its gonna be the speed sensor wiring, the start inhibit circuit and rev lights. Rev lights I was gonna wire up through a switch (plus I have other lights to fit to the car). The guys that are (hopefully) gonna carry out the conversion are only gonna do the bare bones of the job, I was gonna finish it off and was hoping the start circuit can be by-passed, speed sensor can be joined to the auto loom, and leave the reverse lights. I am getting a "wasted" spark set-up made for the 300ZX as sold by Driftworks... Ben from Driftworks wants to know the ignition firing order on a ZX so he can make up a set for the ZX. Can anyone shed some light:) Thx Lee

Here are some pics of the donor car i'm breaking. Kinda sad to see the car in this state but I want the manual box from it for my Auto TT thats got next to no 3rd gear. Its at the final stages of being stripped but thats 3 months of up early in a sunday morning to strip her but we are close to the shell going to the car park in the sky.
