I have noticed that my TT autobox is struggling to change up to 3rd? This is especially noticeable from cold and after stopping for a while. There are no noises and the changes are smooth when they happen, Sometimes at slower speed (30-40) there is a almost bouncing like feel, as if it is trying to change up/or down? I hope this is not another complete failure as this is a replacement box! I have not over worked the box so I am hoping it is a lack of use scenario. I have a new filter, gasket and oil. Do you think this will cure? I have had auto failure before on this low mileage SWB TT which was my fault (trigger happy on overdrive at high speed!!)and on a NA which was…

Did they or did they not have the Variable valve timing ? Did the power drop to 280 for the manual in the final years? Any help would be appreciated, would rather have the extra 20bhp.

Up until 2 days ago, the zed was perfect, but for some unknown reason, last night, driving along quite normal, pulled away from lights, yes its still quick and has as much power as before, however, it just dosent seem to rev as quick through the gears. Top speed is still the same, can hear the tubs are working, and the engine still as sweet as ever. I have checked.... 1. Still got spark, on all 6, ptu and injectors are fine 2. Got under the car, all appears good, small bit of oil on drivers tub, but im aware of this is the seals, as its been like since i bought the car. 3 gearbox is as should be. 4. Boost is good everything seems as it should be, but it do…

Is there any quick fix for repairing the odometer? The one from my jap Zed is knackered, all the dials just spin, you can see this from the pics from a previous thread- http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=107861&highlight=odometer the guy i bought the car from didn't have any paperwork for the car but said it had done just over 70,000. I don't know if this is 70,000 miles or kilometers. I've just left the odometer from the uk clocks i bought but they are reading about 99,000 from memory. Is there a way i can find out the last known milage reading and have my odometer reset to truely represent the cars milage as i'm hoping to have the car on the roa…

I drove the car last night in the dark for the 1st time and discovered a problem with the lights which I don't know when it started. The only lights I have are main beam when the switch is on dipped (2nd click), no rears at all. Nothing on side lights (1st click) and when the mains are on they can't be switched off by moving the indicator stalk. The other thing I noticed is when I turned the switch it seems to interupt the radio power supply sometimes. Any ideas as the car is now in Luton and I live in Cardiff with a drive home on Sunday night.

Just changed the pcv's and the two hoses connecting to the valves as the car was smoking from the passengers exhaust whilst at temperature, mostly at idle, I took the car for a short run til up to temp, but it is still smoking and it smells oily, the car runs perfect and is boosting at 1 bar with no problems, do you think its time for the dreaded new turbos? Is their any way of checking the rear turbo seals? or is their anyone who lives near pembroke in Wales who knows their stuff, if I were to get new turbos, I think i'd go for the jwt530's. To get low 400's, i'd need to change the injectors ( 555 ) upgrade the intercoolers and get it remapped, are their any other mods t…
