  2. been collecting them for a couple of years now. took me ages to find my first one (yellow) in a classic car show. my parents found the convertable for me and i got the jada one for my birthday this year. the black replica of my car was very kindly done for me by a good mate!! even down to the carbon fibre door pillars and cream interior. he even shortened the gear lever to the same length scale as my real one!!!

I was just wondering what is needed to fit a decat pipe. With removal of all the little pipes etc And what should be done to the holes in the cat when i come to fit it at MOT time?? Or should i buy a pair of cats and smash the internals up. And fit the proper cats for mot time :confused:

I was looking at installing my Apexi Muktichecker and have had a disagreement with it already regarding the pin outs. Baiscally the guide is saying the power is supplies by Pin 59 on the ECU, but testing 59 has no power. Pin 58 has a constant 12v. Should Pin 59 be a power source? With the unit connected to pin 58 it has a constant power, is this right, does it not switch on with ignition like most things?

Hi, I'm new to this thread and new to owning a 300zx. I just brought mine yeasterday and drove it home some 35 miles. When I was half mile from home the car sounded like a lifter was shot and needed replacing. I checked the oil and it was about 80% between L-H. It has also had some kinda change as the oil is faily clean sort of semi black. I topped it up and thought i'd need to change a lifter. The next day i tried th car and it sounded very quiet again as it was when I brought it. Now I'm wondering if it's having breather problems and i'm planning a change/ clean up of the system. Also the oil pressure starts at 60ish psi and once warm drops to 30psi and under fr…

Just to let you know when you hunt for your next battery that a new number has been released for Jap cars, the zed included. Part number is 031 exactly the same layout as an 068/088 but the dimensions are spot on for the zed, you can even put a nissan battery cover if your lucky enough to have one. Specs of 031 690 Cca 70 Ah Length 255 Width 170 Height 220 The old number 068/088 was 500 to 600Cca 65Ah Length 265 Width 175 Height 220 You can expect to pay about £10 to £15 more for the 031 but should be worth the money for the extra power. Having said that ive had an 068 on my zed for 5 years with no probs.

Hi all, Was travelling down a dual carriageway last night and decided to push it to full throttle for a bit. Then as I slowed down in traffic, the car felt a bit funny. (Running on 5 cylinders with a gurgling sound). Saw smoke coming from the rear and other drivers were passing me telling me, "you're on fire, you're on fire!" Pulled over and saw a fire burning underneath the car where the heat shelds are. I managed to put the fire out with water and called for recovery. Now without attempting to start the car again, does anyone know what had just happened to my lovely lady? Cos last night I was nearly crying thinking that my whole car was about to go u…

  17. Hi Guys Have been reading through the mountain of aircon threads but cannot find out what the original amount of R12 was used to charge the aircon system. If I have understood what I've read! Advice seems to be: - 90% of original charge for R24 (direct R12 replacement) - 70% of original charge for R134A - Add PAG oil as it is compatible with original mineral oil So does anyone know how much R12 was originally in the system and how much PAG oil should be added. Cheers Martin

Hi People I could do with some advice. My car has been at a body shop for a long time !!!! i could do with starting it, as i have been told an idle engine, is BAD. It probably has not be run for 8 months to a year. Can you advise what the best method is of starting the engine without damaging the engine / bores. Some people say that you can break rings score bores etc. What is the best method? The car has a new TT engine which has only done 2000 miles. Someone told me to remove the plugs, heat some oil until it smokes, then pour a bit into each cylinder, leave for a while to penetrate, fit plugs etc, then turn over and run. Is this correct? o…
