Hi, Not long had my auto box reconditioned and dont use the car very often. when i first picked the vehicle up i took it for a spin on the motorway. i found that the vehicle would red line and not change up. if i came off the accelerator and back on then it would change up a gear this carried on through every gear? is this the box relearning the limits? Also now when ive used the vehicle for a while maybe half an hour the vehicle stops in 3rd gear and redlines and wont change up until i turn it off and let it go cold?? Many Thanks Andy P.S. Ive already had the auto cooler add some time ago. Vehicle - UK TT Auto 1993

Having a major tidy up at the mo, as girlfriend is moving in this weekend, and party the next. Sorting my dvd's and cd's out, and i found this cd. This was a meet we did on Sunday 20th Aug 2006, from Boxhill to Brighton between SE/SC regions. It was my first ever zed meet, loads of zeds snaking down the road and following me in my plumbing van, (as i killed my 1st zed in France a few weeks before messing about with an Aston) the fun i had had trying to keep up with the rest of you, nearly losing it bigtime on a curve on the A24 and all the zed drivers thinking he's going to lose it. all going differnt ways around roundabouts, agro from the police, and doing my best to…

think i may have rain water getting somewhere it shouldn't, car runs fine whenever its been dry for a few days(not often), day after a good downpour it doesn't want to shift up when it should (its a 91 jdm TT auto), it will run to 4-5k revs before shifting up and if you ease off the throttle revs drop, back on the throttle and its as if its in neutral. really is becoming a PITA, leaving it in 'hold' mode sorts it, but kinda spoils the point of having a zed, anyone got any ideas what it could be??? thanks in advance murf

Got the car running alot smoother! The problem was the ecu, it was only running on 5 cylinders and datascan / consult couldnt pick it up. Put the other ecu in (which paul gave me very kindly) and its running perfect now! Also the timing is now fixed :D Thanks alot bud

Has anybody heard a sharp buzzing sound when the lights are on. Turn the lights off and the sound goes. Very strange. I tried to pinpoint where exactly it was coming from, but failed. I believe its coming from the front left hand side of the engine (as you would look at it from the front) near the PTU location. Thats a guess though. Any ideas?

as some of you might know i'm in the proccess of fitting an N/A rear to the old girl. the problem i had was my prop shaft. its a one piece ally TT shaft so i didnt want to get ride of it for an N/A shaft, reason being money's tight and didnt fancy shelling out for another prop so, this is how i over came the problem...... one ally spacer, machined from a solid lump costing £20, 5 hack saw blades and 2 days in the work shop on a lathe and pillar drill. the thin ring spacer is original which came with the prop. the two are then bolted together..... it is then bolted to the diff flange to bring the distance out to the same spec…

Hi, Time to put my headlights back together and just wondered what you have used to seal the unit back up? Can the original mastic be bought from anywhere as I quite like the idea of opening them back up if need be. Cheers Vijay

Cant believe i cant drive my beast, decided to let my dad take me out in it just so that the car is still getting used, I took the roofs off as it was a nice day, he was like a kid with a new toy lol, once warmed up i told him to just plant his foot to the floor, we were in 3rd at the time, OMFG, felt like we were going to take off, feels mental in the passenger side, my dad is used to his 1.6 cavalier, he told me he was scared of it and it diddnt feel right driving it. Its only running 14psi at the momment, cant wait for the ebc to be fitted and the boost to be raised to 19psi, its going to be rapid, Jeff at zedworld will also be giving it a good going over, cant wait.

I'm in the process of breaking my zed and found this black box under the centre console next to the handbrake. I can't find any ref to it in the service manuals. Does anybody know what it is? I don't want to just rip it out until I know what it does. The blue arrow points to where the braided cable is going. Since I've never stripped a car and i'm not a mechanic, there will no doubt be loads of these threads coming soon! :wack: Cheers as always :D Dave

This is a real job done recently by,( unamed Z garage ) take a guess at what it would cost for the entire job, guess how long the egr removal was booked as too. No random figures, work it out, what would need removing what would overlap between jobs etc. and see what you think, oh and why it will not rev properly. Fit 24 x USED hydrolic lifters ( previous ones very noisy ) Remove / by pass EGR valve 60k service Work done with full payment up front, NO receipt given and running worse than when it went in. How much labour and parts can £7k buy you these days? Huge turbo`s bigger intercoolers, Stand alone custom ecu, 750 injectors, decat stainless exhausts, rolling road set up. Good deal ? .................................... depends on how its all nailed together. Lets see... Mixed up vacuum pipes, loose pipes, missing pipes. Boost leaks due to intercooler pipe clips not tightened Banging exhausts due to missing brackets Bumper fog lights not working due to NOT been connected Non starter due to bodged starter motor connection Worse of all from a safety point of view, hard and notchy steering due to tur…
