Hey zers, hope ye can help. There seems to be an annoyin little rattle coming from the engine bay area when driving. The faster i go the louder it gets. When the car is stopped and idleing the rattle is gone even if i rev it up. it comes from the left (passenger) side and has me stumped. It a metalic rattle and happens same when engine is hot and cold. I checked all the usual suspects and nothin yet.:headvswal

This might sound like a dum question but whats the best way to get coolant on a 300 TT? someone told me its not straight in the radiator, that there is a cap just for coolant and the rad only takes water, is that true? need to get that done pronto but im kinda in doubt now.. Any advice very welcome as usual :bow::bow:

Guys, I was thinking of getting either some R33 or R34 calipers and then get some discs and pads from EBC (links below) I actually have EBC/Red stuff all round at the mo (standard size discs), but with stock calipers. If i went to 324mm discs on the front, but kept the original setup on the rear will this be ok with ABS, only ive heard when people go too large on the front it screws it all up? I see now EBC are selling red stuff as standard and yellow stuff as an upgrade...isnt yellow stuff only for track use though, thought they took too long to warm up? Actually one of the links doesnt work properly, click "search again" and you can generate spe…

Having redone my spare headlights, and fully cleaned them and chromed, most of the gears on the adjusters are broken, does anyone know where i can get these metal gears for the adjusters from, have tried loads of rc model shops, has anyone found a way to replace, or do Nissan still do them. About 1/2 way down on this thread. http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107...hp?content.349 Until i get these i cant install my lights, they look the nuts.

I got in my standard Manual JDM TT today after not driving it for 3 weeks. It felt different, it was boosting very strongly going upto the MAX +7 on the boost guage. I am not sure if this is normal, but usualy it only goes halfway to 3.5. I put it down to the cold air at first, but after 15 minutes it went back to normal. Now I am guessing I have got used to safety boost, the ECU had reset itself but after a bit of driving it went back to safety boost.... I have had 2 other TT's one was standard auto, and the other was modified with about 380bhp so I don't have much to compare it to... It is definately quicker than my old NA which is why I didn't thin…

Hey all I had a go in a friends car this evening (alfa) and the steering was very nicely weighted. Is there any way to change the lightness in the Zeds steering to make it feel more "weighted" ? Are new steering columns heavier? can you use ones from different cars? Cheers Ron

Been looking at getting the Ohlins off bigsss, but there aint much info on the set-up and repairing the broken shock. Does anyone have any advice about them please?? Here's a pic of the broken one http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=42186&d=1211902285 and heres a description of them. if you look in my rides you'll see a pic of the silver Zed they are on but it doesn't give a true representation of ride height as there is no engine in the car lol. I bought the car from a guy who lived close to me but i couldn't find who previously owned it as i had to apply for the V5, on the log book before me it was owned by someone in Dundee and thats…

Guess what, my new slicktop is running on 5 cylinders  Not to worry tho, i think its the ptu and i have a series 2 already. Also noticed that my steering is abnormaly light, makes for really poor feedback and doesn't really inspire confidence, what can cause this? Im guessing it has a delimiter gizzmo on it as it has a speedo face for 180MPH which reads ok. Would a chipped ECU delimit the car and stop this? whilst still reading in MPH?

Hi there, As the title says .........today I had the Zed up on a ramp for the first time since I bought it back in November. 1/ NSF tension rod bush is leaking oil - can I replace the bush or does a replacement rod have to be sourced? 2/ Auto box sump pan is leaking - will have to replace gasket and may as well do the filter and fluid change at the same time. 3/ Rust .............both rear outer wheelarches need replaced, OS outer and inner sills and NS inner sill are holed enough to fail the next MOT  Other than that - it doesn't look too bad :) although I'm sure that the cost incurred in replacing what will probably be inner and outer sills (…

Today I am supposed to be changing my tension rod bush's... Drivers side one is out and I have replaced the bush but for the life of me I cannot get the bolt back through the cross memeber and bush. The bolt is tapered so it only goes in one way (took me half an hour to realise :slap: ) but there is a pipe going from what looks like an air cooler to the air intake in the way. Whatever I try I cannot get it to move enough. Is there an easy way to get this bolt in or have I now got to dismantle half of the car to get it in ? Mark

Decided to fit my UK clocks today as the JAP ones have about had it and not accurate at all speed wise. But I cannot see any converter as such to change it back to a clean signal so with the new UK clocks fitted im still getting an incorrect reading. Pictures attached show what I'm dealing with, theres a thin yellow wire with green strip that had been taped up but appears just to be soldered back together nothing inline and a fatter green with yellow strip has a bullet type connector in line but nothing in it no resistor or anything, then thers random brown white and red cables going down behind the dash but can't see where they go to. I'm not sure which is the spe…

Well, I took it out for the first time this year! Dry roads and salt free, so decided I had to take it out for a drive! Was nice to be back behind the wheel. Everyone looking at the car. Makes me grin, so did the effortless torque. :) It's nice having a break from the Z as when you do go for a drive in it you realise what you missed.
