Has anyone successfully grafted parts from another car onto their 300zx TT ? Ive always been one for trying to make other car marques parts fit. Has anyone else on here fitted anything from another car ? Turbo, intercooler, seats etc ? What have you done and how did you do it ? :)

Hi there, As the title says .........today I had the Zed up on a ramp for the first time since I bought it back in November. 1/ NSF tension rod bush is leaking oil - can I replace the bush or does a replacement rod have to be sourced? 2/ Auto box sump pan is leaking - will have to replace gasket and may as well do the filter and fluid change at the same time. 3/ Rust .............both rear outer wheelarches need replaced, OS outer and inner sills and NS inner sill are holed enough to fail the next MOT  Other than that - it doesn't look too bad :) although I'm sure that the cost incurred in replacing what will probably be inner and outer sills (…

Today I am supposed to be changing my tension rod bush's... Drivers side one is out and I have replaced the bush but for the life of me I cannot get the bolt back through the cross memeber and bush. The bolt is tapered so it only goes in one way (took me half an hour to realise :slap: ) but there is a pipe going from what looks like an air cooler to the air intake in the way. Whatever I try I cannot get it to move enough. Is there an easy way to get this bolt in or have I now got to dismantle half of the car to get it in ? Mark

Decided to fit my UK clocks today as the JAP ones have about had it and not accurate at all speed wise. But I cannot see any converter as such to change it back to a clean signal so with the new UK clocks fitted im still getting an incorrect reading. Pictures attached show what I'm dealing with, theres a thin yellow wire with green strip that had been taped up but appears just to be soldered back together nothing inline and a fatter green with yellow strip has a bullet type connector in line but nothing in it no resistor or anything, then thers random brown white and red cables going down behind the dash but can't see where they go to. I'm not sure which is the spe…

alright people, theres a on/off switch in my glove box and having traced the wires they appear to go to the ecu? Any ideas why a switch would be wired to the ecu?

Well, I took it out for the first time this year! Dry roads and salt free, so decided I had to take it out for a drive! Was nice to be back behind the wheel. Everyone looking at the car. Makes me grin, so did the effortless torque. :) It's nice having a break from the Z as when you do go for a drive in it you realise what you missed.

I have a jap TT auto which i am converting to manual, I had a slight incident with the car loom and had to get a new one. I bought a manual version loom off a member as between us we thought it would be easier for wiring up the conversion as I have the manual box loom as well. I have started fo fit it but some of the plugs going into the fuse box in the drivers footwell are different. The wires that have no pins- are these redundant on a manual car, I am thinking that some of the auto box wiring went into the fuse box so aren't used any more? Complicated I know but can anyone confirm??

Powertrix have released a new Street Coilover kit that has some very innovative spec and would make a far superior alternative to the Tein Superstreets and Tein flex kits and much better priced too. Price is fantastic, and they are holding a group buy on them at 3zc These look fantastic for a street orientated 300zx that would like the ability to perform well at the occasional track day : For those looking for a more track orientated setup they also offer their coilovers in Race specification and Ultra-Lite Race spec.

Got my apexi air filter through today and fitted it (Thanks Speedfreak). The difference is amazing! I was running a cheap one I had lying around in the garage, it was meant to be a temporary fix but that was 8 months ago:slap: Anyway the way the car is now it so different there is more boost, I think the dump valves are louder, the car dont back fire any more and best of all the petrol smell I got when I floored it has gone. Think it has to be one of the best £25 i've spent:) Proof that cheap air filters are crap:D

Since my engine and performance figures are pretty much stock (although new with little use), I've been using good quality 10/40 semi as per manufacturers recommendations. I'm doing a mild boost upgrade over the following months and am considering upgrading the fluid to Oilman's recommendation of the Silkolene pro. Just wondering who is using this fluid and what engine modifications you have? If stock, interested to know of any changes in running, ie, smoother etc?
