Hi, I am toying with replacing the dash/speedo/tacho/water temp/fuel gauge cluster with digital versions - probably from egauges.com - like these: http://www.egauges.com/vdo_ind.asp?Type=Cyberdyne_Kit&Series=Cyber_Blue&PN=E002E350Y or from vgauges which are similar. [daft] Question: Just want to be sure... Will I have issues with the ECU not getting data because the original instuments are basically not there anymore. I have an automatic - and I have SAW installed (FANTASTIC BTW). Or does the current dash data come FROM the ECU? Thanks in advance. Andy

Funkysi: Which one? Checkout clerk: The Nissan, the white one. How much power does it have? Funkysi: Some would say 'enough', but I wouldn't mind a little more. Checkout clerk: Sounds really nice, one of the best sounding cars I've heard. Funkysi: Oh right, thanks. Where did you see me in it? Not driven it much lateky. Checkout clerk: Well, I see it out whenever you take it out, it's very eye catching, you can't miss it. Funkysi: Cheers mate, thanks. Funkysi walks off with a huge great big grin on his face. :nana2:

i've had a problem since day one with the clutch pedal. it's been very sloppy and the bitting point was nearly in the carpet. i've tried bleeding it twice now, and although it is a lot better, it still feels very sloppy. I've also noticed that the clutch is now slipping in 4th and 5th gear. Is this all down to my sloppy clutch pedal or is my clutch on its way out? it's really starting to bug me as i seem to be finding problem after problem with this car. This is another thing that i cant afford to bloody do as im still trying to sort my springs and shocks out. starting to think i've brought a lemon:cry:

Well I did an epic fail today.... The Zed was frozen solid this morning after driving in the rain last night. So this morning when I left the hotel, I tried to open the doors and nothing, after a few mins I thought well I will go through the boot, the rubber is protected better from the elements, so I tried the tail gate and whoosh it opened with no issues. I stumbled through the boot and and got the ignition key in and vruuummm, the car started, I put the heater on and made my way back through the boot, just as the boot cluncked shut (the nano second) I got a bad feeling.... Crap I had just left my keys in the car and it was all locked up..... epic fa…

Hi I was hoping Murt or Pintovit would come back with a solution to the problem which seems to be the same as the one I have. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=120527 Basically the the throttle fails to respond and the car judders like you're in too low a gear but doesn't stall when you put the clutch in. If at low speeds you have to pull over aas the car slows so much. It happens at any gear and any speed or revs. I've had it happen at 30mph and on the motorway at 70mph (well that's the limit isn't it!).But it only happens once in any one journey, either 2 miles home from the shops or 150 miles back from Swindon just before Christmas…

I've got a 1990 j-spec tt auto. Over the last few days the box started making a whinning rattly sound when running getting worse as you increased throttle. Last night as i set off for work it began loosing drive like slipping, after stopping at traffic lights the car wouldn't move at all in any gear at any revs. now after getting recovered the car runs fine and creeps forwards or backwards in drive and reverse with no revs but only for about 1 minute then all drive is lost, also happens straight away if i press the accelerator. if it isn't something cheap im considering breaking or selling as it is due too lack of money. Any help much appreciated.....

Hi guys, This wouldn't normally be a problem but I'm 200 miles from home doing some exams and my lights appear to have packed in. I can still get high beam but no tail lights (brake lights still work tho) and no low beam. I have to assume it's this fkn weather, it was well covered in snow last night and badly iced up this morning, presumably a short somewhere. I only have limited tools with me and very little time to spare at present, I'm not looking forward to a drive home with only high beam in this weather! Just wondered if anyone has had the same problem and whether there is a known prob/easy fix... Tia! RobH

Is this coming year going to be the year that we can buy a true '99 spec 300ZX or will we have to wait until next year? I have been looking but still havent found any for sale potentially or otherwise. If I am correct ???although its 2009 the 10th year it will still take almost the whole of this year for them to become available? I might be wrong :D The other thing is that over the past years the registration dates of UK cars have changed to 2 a year so just wondering if this might have any affect on the '99 spec sales

Just bought my second zed so im over the moon. It seems to run sweet but ive notice it has an oil leak in the engine bay just infront of the steering wheel, ive also notice oil comming from the dumpvalve on the same side as what the leak is on. Ive checked the oil level and it seems ok. When i start the car the oil reading on the oil gauge seems ok but then after 5 mins it goes right down. Any ideas as i dont have a clue Thanks Oz

I think somebody has unsuccessfully tried to break into my Z :mad: Not really been near it in a week, but today when taking snow pics I discovered damage to my B-pillar, near the top before it meets the roof. Very strange place to find damage there, and there is no reason for anybody to go anywhere near the car. Its parked in my own yard area behind a gate. Then I find some marks on my door trim that I had'nt seen before. I reckon somebody has damaged the B-pillar trying to lever somethng in between the window to open the car from the inside. The window was also not fully up, maybe 5mm lower than it should be,perhaps pushing down from levering on…

Going to the train station yesterday morning and the road that leads to the car park is a down hill, old cobbled road still which was covered with snow and ice, as soon as i pulled in the car went sideways and accelerated down the hill, at the bottom i met up with a solid square tubular steel post!! The post hit the passenger door, which is now near V shaped (i think this is just the skin as the door card hasn't moved), crushed the sill, smashed the passenger window and bent the rear wishbone as the wheel hit the curb around the post. I can't afford to shell out for repairs (don't know if it's structurally sound or not) so had to call the insurance. They're m…
