Hi guys, This wouldn't normally be a problem but I'm 200 miles from home doing some exams and my lights appear to have packed in. I can still get high beam but no tail lights (brake lights still work tho) and no low beam. I have to assume it's this fkn weather, it was well covered in snow last night and badly iced up this morning, presumably a short somewhere. I only have limited tools with me and very little time to spare at present, I'm not looking forward to a drive home with only high beam in this weather! Just wondered if anyone has had the same problem and whether there is a known prob/easy fix... Tia! RobH

Is this coming year going to be the year that we can buy a true '99 spec 300ZX or will we have to wait until next year? I have been looking but still havent found any for sale potentially or otherwise. If I am correct ???although its 2009 the 10th year it will still take almost the whole of this year for them to become available? I might be wrong :D The other thing is that over the past years the registration dates of UK cars have changed to 2 a year so just wondering if this might have any affect on the '99 spec sales

Just bought my second zed so im over the moon. It seems to run sweet but ive notice it has an oil leak in the engine bay just infront of the steering wheel, ive also notice oil comming from the dumpvalve on the same side as what the leak is on. Ive checked the oil level and it seems ok. When i start the car the oil reading on the oil gauge seems ok but then after 5 mins it goes right down. Any ideas as i dont have a clue Thanks Oz

I think somebody has unsuccessfully tried to break into my Z :mad: Not really been near it in a week, but today when taking snow pics I discovered damage to my B-pillar, near the top before it meets the roof. Very strange place to find damage there, and there is no reason for anybody to go anywhere near the car. Its parked in my own yard area behind a gate. Then I find some marks on my door trim that I had'nt seen before. I reckon somebody has damaged the B-pillar trying to lever somethng in between the window to open the car from the inside. The window was also not fully up, maybe 5mm lower than it should be,perhaps pushing down from levering on…

Going to the train station yesterday morning and the road that leads to the car park is a down hill, old cobbled road still which was covered with snow and ice, as soon as i pulled in the car went sideways and accelerated down the hill, at the bottom i met up with a solid square tubular steel post!! The post hit the passenger door, which is now near V shaped (i think this is just the skin as the door card hasn't moved), crushed the sill, smashed the passenger window and bent the rear wishbone as the wheel hit the curb around the post. I can't afford to shell out for repairs (don't know if it's structurally sound or not) so had to call the insurance. They're m…

As my auto box was playing up, and always wanted a manwell, decided to do it, have removed my auto box, but was wondering what to do with it? Seems a shame to just weigh it in or bin it....

Well, i set out with all good intentions to get round to fitting my alarm at the weekend. It was only a cheapo ebay jobbie (with remote start). I've fitted probably 6-7 of these before so wouldn't normally of been a problem. So, off i started at 9am saturday morning. started stripping the panels off to get access to where i needed the wires to run only to find that there had been some sort of alarm fitted previously and had just been ripped out (found some ultrasonic sensors just flapping around in the doors behind the door cards!). I spent nearly all weekend repairing the dodgy wiring, which meant i didn't get the alarm finished! needless to say, i was p***ed off a…

I have had R/C cars in the past both nitro and electric but a few months ago I decided to treat myself to a brand new Tamiya chassis with uprated motor, speed controller etc. Since doing this all my friends have gone out and done the same lol. For christmas my Sister got me a 300ZX bodyshell from Australia, apparrantly now a discontinued shell. And naturally, I had to make it a replica of mine...hope you like...

After a 6-8 weeks off over Christmas I have finally motivated myself to get going on the project agian, due to a lack of time and minus temperatures it has been neglected. As my car loom was damaged (chewed by the wifes puppy) and alot of plugs were missing I bought one from a member and decided to change the whole lot. The two reasons for this was to re route the loom away from the exhaust manifolds, in the picture the wires are still there but they now reside under the headlights so behing the headlights is wire free on both sides. The 2nd reason was to make the manual conversion a straight plug in with cutting wires. One loom half in and one half out. …

After fitting a new loom I have to plugs which didn't go into the loom. There are 2 pin small grey ones, one each side of the engine bay- they are about 10 inches below the suspension tower top and both go through the inner wing into the wheel arch? Are they ABS, brake sensor?

I started to change my front pads today . The only time I`ve done this job before was about 20 years ago , and I`m kinda out of practice ! The backs of the old ones had some kind of softish material with indentations where the two (large) pistons make contact . No shims to be found . The new pads , Mintex 1144 , have four much smaller circles cast deep into the backs and are supplied with a flimsy bit of soft plastic material which doesn`t cover much of the back of the pad . Are they compatible with my calipers ? Just looking for some reassurance because , call me old fashioned , I think brakes can sometimes be important on a car , particularly a quick and heavy one lol…

These came with my car and for 2 weeks i've tried ot work out how to remove them and it's doing my head in. The threaded washer just tightens and untightens the fit of the button. Removing the face of the button does bugger all, the back dowsn't clip off. HEEEEEEEELP!!!!
