Hi all, Im looking at getting some new wheels for my Zed to go with the new paint Job but havent got much idea about fittings etc... So my questions are: 1. If i put 18' wheels on will i have to lower the car? 2. What's the max width i can go? 3. Are there any recommended wheel sites to give me some idea of prices. Cheers all;)

Long story short, my Z has a oil leak at the front of the engine. I pulled the front off, and the leak was coming from the behind the right hand intake (VTC) cam sprocket. I automatically assumed it was the cam seal, so I removed all the cam sprockets, and replaced the seals (I also replaced a lot of other things while I had access). Since then, I have re-installed everything, only to discover it is still leaking! I've ruled out the cam cover, as it was clean around that area. The sprockets haven't been off in the 6 years I've owned the Z, so it won't be cam shaft damage. Sorry, this isn't really that short a story! Question is, how common is it for the sproc…

I have a couple of issues. In attempting to resolve prop vibration I have encountered rusty bolts probably fitted in japan to replace original studs on the back of the catalitic converter flanges, which couple to the after market stainless exhausts. I have managed to remove two of the original nuts from the studs, but the other two have been replaced with these bolts which have now sheared. What is the best way to remove these? One has sheared flush with the CAT flange, the other about 1/4" above. Do I grind flush and try to drill them out? There is not much room behind the flange to grip the end of the thread?? Also I intend to replace the centre bearing. I have an app…

I was woken at 2:00am this morning by the sound of someone beeping a car horn on and off non stop. Look out my bedroom window and its coming from my Z:mac1:took me 10 mins to disconnect the battery and woke the whole street up :slap:. It wasn't a continuous BEEEEEEEEEEEEEP it was more like beeep beeeeeep beep beeeeeeeeep beeep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep on and off like someone was sitting in it!!!! The car is either haunted or there's something else wrong with it!! Could it be the horn relay???( I disconnected the centre steering wheel cover so I know its nothing to do with that) Any advice please...... or do I call "Ghostbusters":duffer:

Been having a think about turbo access recently, and has anyone considered installing access panels in the inner arches, so if you need access to that area, the engine doesn need dropped out :smash: If i had a decent enough space to work in, i would give this a go. Just curious if anyone has thought about/ tried this before ?

im sure most of you already know this car as petes21st and UNO and john-e-retro have all owned it. my son was looking for a project zed so he bought this zed today with his own money. (he is only 14). he is very interested in zeds and knows much more about them than me. (most of the mechanical advice on the forums from me is actually my son:rofl:)

I've been thinking about getting a larger radiator with a lower operating nismo thermostat for a while.. any of you guys done this and is there any problems in doing this?? Also I have a Import Auto, so I have heard I will need to get an auto oil cooler if i change my rad.. why is this?.. how does the normal radiator affect the auto oil cooler?.. and I have also heard that the jap import has a smaller oil cooler than the english one? why is this? finally, is the fan on the ZX a Viscous which works constantly on the radiator, because if I was to get a newer radiator, i.e. a Koyo.. I am not sure if I would be able to keep the stock front fan in place, and might have …

My Z is an Auto and when I pull away in drive for a split second it makes a noise like a similar noise to what a binding brake disc would make.. like a scraping grinding, it isn't a bad noise but annoying all the same, it isn't affecting the car.. yet.. but when it goes into 2nd the noise goes. I put it into 1st gear to find out for sure it was the 1st gear on the auto box which is making the noise and it deffinately is.. Could someone please give me some advise as to what this noise could be, many thanks!

Got my Z back from Darren at D2 yesterday after having an engine swap (due to valve damage) and a manual conversion. And what a fantastic job he's done... must say any doubts i had about ditching the autobox were soon lost during the drive home :nana2: Such a massive difference... im very chuffed with the Z now... and to show my appreciation iv started making her a treat: 50sq foot of leather off ebay for 80 quid and a 3 pack of high temp leather upholstery spray glue for 15... Naturally il be getting the seats done professionally Rich
