Hi, I know that the forum is inundated with autobox faults and problems at the minute - but i havent found anything like mine (or i have missed it). It is a 1991 tt import - the box has always been ok upto aabout 5 months ago when it started to slip a bit 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd - this was only when opening it up. I changed the oil - cleaned the filter and all seemed a bit better - there were no sign of debris or anything in the auto box sump. It now will not engage 3rd when i drive normally - if i put my foot down it will go right upto 6,500rpm and then change and then it will drive ok even at lower speeds - this is until i stop and restart and the cycle continues…

I have just had my HKS mushroom filter replaced with an Apexi induction kit and I am sure there is a difference in the car :x: The engine seems to respond faster and smoother (both with power and letting off) or is it just me? Thanks again to Zedworld and Jamie (Jeff was on a jolly to London ;)) :hyper:

I'm looking at buying a UK zed but it has some rust issues. Are these fixable? If so roughly how much would I be looking at to get it all fixed? Or should I just walk away? As always any advice is appreciated. Cheers Dave

Can someone advise me of the costs involved in getting a Zed to the UK ? Import Duty ? VAT ? Registration ? Does the value for Customs purposes have to be the same as the price paid ? Thanks everyone Mark (Seriously thinking about getting back into Zed ownership)

just driven home after a good run down the 56 - noticed that the heater had started blowing cold......turned it off n forgot about it, then just as i pulled into my road i noticed the windscreen went suddenly misty so i turned the de mister on.....what a mistake!! was like a smoke machine blew out loads of steam - filled the cabin, then there was a pop and i couldnt see - my leg was covered in scalding hot steam and water..... so decided the best bet wud be to stop the water being thrown into the footwell at great speed - so to relieve the pressure i opend the rad plug and alowed it to vent wich slowed the torrent.......so i can imagine this is blown heater matrix?? …

Every bugger seems to be: a) Breaking b) Crashing c) Selling their zed at the moment, is there anybody not thinking of getting rid of their zed? :nono: I'm here and here to stay how about you lot? Is it the miserable weather? Is it the economy? Is it the day of the zed is dead?

Any members on the South Wales area that could possibly call into me in Cardiff with their car? I need to have a look at a TT to work out all the breather pipes for the turbo system, it's a whille since I stripped mine out and as I don't have the TT set up now need to make sure I feed the right ones into turbo inlet and outlet locations.

I was told this afternoon that I will be working at a client site in the UK for the next 6 months (may be longer) and this works out to 600 miles a week (week in, week out) and I do not think that I can put my Zed through this (and the cost involved), do not get me wrong, I know that I am lucky in the current economic situation to still have work for the medium term  But doing this sort of milage will be quite costly and not good for the Zed, I do not have the option of keeping it as 2 cars is expensive enough. I am very sad about this but have listed my Zed on pistonheads and it will be on here soon. I am moving to our 08 reg scenic (7 seater 1.6 powe…

I am in the process of changing my NA auto prop centre bearing. I have a good 2nd hand bearing on a seemingly good front half of prop. Is it OK to mix this half with the existing? Or must I swop the bearing over onto my original prop. Also does it matter what orientation the spline end goes in the autobox? As I notice that the spline has two opposing keyways.

getting the tracking done on sat and had noticed that the back end has been very twitchy and had a knocking noise, got it on a four poster today expecting the worse luckily nothing wrong, think its just the hard seting of the teins and the greasy roads and the traking being a mile out making it slip about the knocking was just a loose exhaust heatshield the rest of the car looks fine aswell, am well chuffed

Hi, Anyone have any ideas to repair the rubber flap that sits over the bottom moulding on the rear 1/4 windows? Mine have just perished away over time and even the spare UK windows I have are the same :( Only ideas we have so far is to make it up out of an epoxy/filler and paint it or make a flap from a piece of rubber and glue it in place. Vijay

Hi all At some point in its life my zed has been jacked up under the radiator crossmember so it is damaged, atthe same time the cross member that goeas across the front of the car at the top and bolts to the air pipes and radiator has also moved upwards. This all means that my bonnet does not sit right and I have had to set the catch at its lowest point to get it to look almost ok. Is the front crossmember that holds the headlights etc welded in or bolted in? Is it something that can be replaced or jigged out should I just live with it? I found this pic on Ebay and it got me wondering if they cut it out or unbolted or what? Cheers
