Hello everyone hope you are all well, just a little niggle, went out like usuall, thrashed my car and the thing wouldnt change gear, so i drove it normal and no problems, the next day i went out again and under load sometimes it didnt change it just hit the rev limiter and wouldnt change till i stopped ragging it, anyway i checked the fluid level but couldnt make out if it waas the right level or not cos there was no markings on the dipstick even after going up and through the box like you should then dipping the stick after a wipe. anyway this fixed the problem it changes lovelly now but i got red oil on my cats and its smoking, only sometimes is there too much in …

It all started as i was on the way back from Simon's (fastorquer on the forums) because i needed to borrow his boost leak detector as i have boost leak somewhere. So im near home and taking it steady though a few country roads and enjoying driving the zed. All of a sudden a car comes up behind me and starts near enough tail gating me, by this point i'm so pissed off i could of got out and kicked the shit into him, so i thought f4ck it, time to put my foot down, so down goes the loud pedal. This is probably going to sound stupid and pointless but here goes. Just curious, but at the Custom exotics open day I was chatting to Chris Mayo and I was telling him how I wanted to simplify my engine bay. He was telling me about what MAC has done to his car regarding a different ecu or something and that in turn you lose the coil packs, CAS, AFM, ECU the engine wiring loom. I'm not 100% sure of the details. Im guessing you only do this if your running high power and would cost a lot of money? or could someone explain a bit more about it really. I'm just curious to know what you lose and what gets replaced when doing this. Thanks, Ant

hi when i drive my Z the speedo sometimes dos not all ways work for the first 6 0r 7 miles then it starts working . also when you see a speed camera and you slow down the speedo takes it time. so i dont know how fast im going whats could be the fault. also the oil gauge only works when it likes

I like all styles of music whilst driving in the zed, but there are certain songs that definatley make me drive quicker, today, tops off and went for a country drive. Filled the lady up, tops off, thumped up the sub and amp and had some fun, the pedal was well and truly abused........ 1. ACDC - Back in black 2. Queen - Dont stop me now 3. gearbox still playing up:headvswal trying to cover all angles before getting another box its an auto. all the gears seem to be there but now it wont go into 3rd. after going up and down with the stick a couple of times it changes up but then if i stop or slow so it goes back into 2nd it wont change up again! any new ideas would be great thanx :rant::rant::rant::confused::confused::confused:

saw a black zed today at around 2ish in tingley fish bar in leeds. guy was sat in car park and looked like he was enjoying his lunch :). i drove past blasting horn! think the reg was daz ----?

right finally got my old laptop fired up and working long enough to run datascan on my z. now i have found that the left o2 sensor wasn't giving any readings (stuck on lean aprox 26 on datascan) now i cant tell how long its been running like that would the only symptom have been an increase in fuel consumption?? what else can a dodgy o2 sensor cause? btw swapped it with another one i had and shebang she works a treat now both sensors sweeping.

if you replace exhaust with a 'de-cat' what happens to all the small pipe work thats on the current system ? Cant see where it all goes cos there is'nt enough ground clearance to get me head under !

Is there more than one type of rear brake caliper for the Z, just tried to fit some too my car and they are too big:(

Hi all, Just thought I would post some pics of my Zed after it being in such a sorry state for so long. I have loads left to do still but since putting a few panels and the bumper on its sparked some enthusiasm to keep plodding along and finaly get her finished. Im still having major issues with the engine as these GD manifolds and turbos look like they are going to cause more hassel than its worth :mac1: Any advice on the problems is welcome cheers! My mate tommy who had been tango'd trying to tackle the turbo problem.

And would like to say a big thank you to all the menbers of this club that always ware there to help me with the problems im having with my zed :bow::bow::bow: now if you remember my extensive list.. the only thing left to sort out is the oil leaks in the sumps and the at check light rest is all done:cool: so nearly there.. and again thanks to everyone :hyper:

The zed has been running on 5 for a couple of days on and off so i contacted a zed guru, he gave me step by step instructions of what to do. Check coil packs and all seem fine. Clean contacts on PTU and now it wont start, its turning over but wont fire,,,,,,what do i do??? the only thing i can think of is i've damaged something when cleaning the PTU. Cheers, Chris

I decided to take the targas off yesterday. Absolutely loved it, so nice to be in the fresh air while being (surprisingly effectively) kept warm by the heater. The only thing was though, it's such a faff and takes so long to get the panels in the bags and then strapped down! I was wondering (as above) if anyone has devised anything to make it the process quicker? I haven't given it any detailed thought yet, but I can imagine some sort of clip system on the boot floor, possibly that can fold down under the boot floor when not in use, that would literally allow you to just 'slot' the panels in and hold them in place, and then away you go! Well it did today to me. I spent 2 hours polishing the car including metal polishing the wheels and spraying the tyres and the Zed looked superb. Got showered and changed and went for a day out of glorious zedding. 300 yards from home some old dear pulled straight out in front of me. Booooosh, I'm into a 54 plate Focus. I know its serious because my bonnet is now bent up in the middle. I am stunned........but not as much as the old dear, she was not even looking my way when she pulled out. Hi guys, i took my car in for MOT yesterday to find that when i went to pick the car up that it had passed :D But he gave me an advisory notice saying that the front nearside strut had a slight leak :( Anyway ive been scouring the net all night trying to find either new struts or new suspension kit. Ive found kits mainly in the USA but struggled to find suppliers here in the uk. So if anyone can give an ideas or help to where i can get these from i would be most grateful. I currently have bilstein's on and would possibly like these again but am open to any suggestions. Thanks guy.
