General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I have a 1990 2+2 na,what i want to know is what mods to do to it. I only want to fit modification's that enhance the running and reliability of the zed. Not interested in more speed (that is ok as it is).So far i have added a mongoose quad exit exhaust (cat back) and a blitz air filter, so please add your idea's.

on my Z it seems the suspention control botton is not responding, the car is very rigid, cannot make it soft like on touring, is there a fuse that control the electronic suspentions or is it the sensors are going bad, pls i need help in that if anyone knows

Hello Guys! Bought a lovely clean 92 300zx, have always wanted one and this one kinda fell into my lap, i knew the turbo's were gone, but now i have taken it apart i have found a fair bit more, the bigest thing is a hole in piston number 6, Question is why just one piston?

Saw a very very tidy G reg 2+2 TT going through Hartley Whitney at about 1900 hours this evening. May I complement you on a very tidy zed you have there!

Does anyone have a pic of a drivers side Greddy TD05 18G fitted? With or without modification. Thanks Steve

my car got keyed and because my bonuses are protected i claimed for a respray cause of the damege. The assesor came out and viewed the damage and says cause the car is in such bad contidion that i should cover alot of the cost of respraying it. I accept the body work wasnt perfect due to some minor peelin of laquer and a not so good paint job done on it a few years ago before i got it. But the car is 18 years old and is never gonna be perfect. what am i to do as i cant afford a ful respray.:headvswal

Replacing my rear suspension tomorrow and today have stripped out all the rear interior panels. When i fit the new suspension units [non oe] do i just leave the motors hanging disconnected?? Dave

Hi, Realistically I won't be getting my car back on the road this year. After the nightmare I've had getting my car painted I want to give the lovely paint some protection. My car is on my front drive so it gets various bits of crap off the roof of my house and the obvious bird crap. What should I be looking at, polishing or waxing and what should I use for some solid protection? Cheers Vijay

well checked and all my timing is correct so now i am about to start removing the plenum to look for busted valves!!!:(:(:( anybody know if this as daunting as it looks?? anybody who wants to help can come round and is very welcome lol;) i hate this bloody car its doing my head in!!!

Looking at rebuilding a shell, I wanna make it as good as possible. Mate has a prob with his Zed, looks like injector 4 has gone. when disconnect injector connector when running nothing changes to engine tune. tried swapping plug and coil pack to prove. Also tried cleaning the injector connectors. Does removal of the injector require plenum remove as the 2 screws seem to be under it. How long does this take? Just wondering how much a garage will charge for this work Also anyone selling an injector :) How much do they cost new? Cheers

OK, I wont go into why, but basically my car has been driven without my knowledge on various occasion and the brake pads are DEAD! Because it was driven, all of the metal shards and crap that has come off the brake disc from the "metal to metal" has now stuck all over the drivers side of the car. How can i get this off? It is very rough to the touch and no matter how much cleaning it has it wont come off. Is someone going to be a dead man for using my car and me needing a full respray???? :mad:

I ordered all my engine parts last night from Conceptzperformance. The only thing that is on back order is the RHD EFI Harness. What I was thinking is maybe ordering the LHD one instead. Could anyone tell me the difference between the two, apart from the obvious :rolleyes:. The engine is out and will be trying to relocate the harness to hide it, so the differences could help. Does anyone know if the self diagnostic process/codes are the same on the series 2 aircon components as on the series 1? If not does anyone have a copy of the ones relevant to the series 2? :confused:

I need my air con regassing, brought the vehicle to work but our kit doesnt fit as its for the new style air con systems and the connectors fitted to the Z are almost like a tyre valve fitment. Spoken to Kwik Fit and they havent got the equipment either. Does anyone know someone in the west mids that can regas the system?? Regards Andy

Friday 17th Morning around half 10 ish? I saw you just near the M62/M60 junction coming from leeds way. (to be honest you might have been on the M60 but there or there abouts :) Looked a fairly nice standard ( i think, looked like standard spoiler and standard alloys) LWB TT at a closing speed of 140+ its somtimes tough to notice other differences lol Was it you?

Anybody, know of a windows xp program that will allow me type in jobs needed, parts for job, who's doing it (me or a garage) What I need to do, and when. I'd also like to be able to use subcategory's section i.e. Interior, rear subframe etc. Finally It would be great if I could print out work cards.Just for me, not commercial :) I've got an old version of MS Project but it's far to complicated for me? isa had me zed for 5 years , love me car to bits but i cannot get rid of smoking on tickover , now when ryan was down at swindon he checked it out he could not find a fault, , isa had new turbo`s ps valves , 3 years ago and i only use me z in the summer,probably only do 1500 miles a year it mainly smokes when cold but also when warm , i dread taken the car for mot any ideas isa stuck

Had a call from Jeff today to say my cars would be ready tomorrow,guess wot my bloody weekend to work try to swap sat out but got no interest from my colleagues but managed to get tuesday. Can't wait roll on 1st of May

just carrying out the NA to TT conversion, ive got the water radiater off for the new one, just looking at the other rad, its larger than the turbo one. so went to remove it from the TT car, then realised it only looks like its going to the air con?? im binning the air con so is there any point of this? looks like the elecric fan cools this for some reason?
