General Discussions - 300ZX Related

I raised this before but now have a photo of the extra plug that has no connector when Phil replaced the loom. Does anyone know if it is needed or what it is for? The car was a 91 UK Auto and is now Manual. The loom is new style with new style injector connectors and CAS plug.

This post may seem like going back to basics but we are constantly surprised by the amount of people who do not know or understand what is written on a bottle of oil and therefore have no idea of what they are looking for, buying or using. having spot of bother as it were at the mo, engine has been swapped, i used the NA loom tho still. swaped the ECU, and fuel pump. car has ben started, but i dont think fuel is getting there at the mo. if you did the conversion, did you use the NA loom, and did you use the NA fuel pump ECU? i spoke to Jeff TT and im sure he said it was fine to use the TT ECU, NA loom, NA fuel pump ECU, and TT pump (even tho the NA pump is good enough) just wana rule that out, before i think about getting a new loom. only other possibility i can think, is loom or fuel filter

Looks like they are getting a bit more fussy on exhausts. Failed for being "obviously far in excess of what would be considered normal for a car fitted with a similar standard silencer" :rolleyes: LOL The car is very loud but it's been through 4 MOT's like this before. It's a custom made stainless system with empty back boxes with no baffles :slap: Been told I just need to quieten it down temporarily and he'll pass it. Any ideas what I can do?

My car has a mph speedo face sticker over the kph logo and the speed goes up in mph with the markings on the clocks. But i think my milage is going up in km, is that possible?

Spotted a silver zed near Hillside train stations today about about 5.30 - was in my zed but did'nt get chance to flash. Had a high/mid level spoiler and a SAZ **** no plate. Was it you? :)

DAMN, DAMN & DAMN again!!!! Well I've run the Conzult balance test in the past few weeks and it worked OK but Mr. F ran it today and it consistantly failed with only a drop of 30-60... Swapped over Coil packs later on and no change, disconnected injector and there was a drop in performance... I don't believe that it's low compression although it'll be going to see the Mr. F or Jeff to get checked over and hopefully sorted... I'd just like some more thoughts... I know that Conzult should can only point to a fault being present and not to what the fault is but my understanding is that it can only be Compression, Spark or fuel so I am more than a little concerned a…

I'm wondering what to do with my UK 92 white TT manual, 146k miles? MOT about to run out and I put it through a little while back to see what it needed as I expected it wouldn't go straight through - 4 items: * Wiper blade. * Offside rear brakepipe corrosion. * Excessive carbon monoxide. * Offside front (floor to outer sill) seat belt anchorage excessively corroded. I also took it to Jeff at ZED WORLD with a view to getting it really sorted and to get the bodywork back in true shape. Power issues, misfires, lumpy running? Many of the running issues are simply sensor faults, connection issues and poor set up, or a combination of all three. Now most of these have been dealt with many times here but a little known issue that is increasing with time is with relays in the fuse box that can potentially upset the clear and concise running of your zed and be the cause of all manner of issues. That should have got your attention. from looking through the recepts that came with zx i bought yesterday i think i have your old car. she is a 91 h plate jspec tt auto in red the engine and box seem very strong and the bodywork seems good too- its had a respray. can you shed any more light on the car. are there any nice upgraded bits on it other than the exhaust and a remap to 95 spec.
