hi, i have just removed my autobox for replacement and noticed a small oil leak from behind the flywheel - i assumed it was the rear crank oil seal (which i will replace anyway) but after removal of the flywheel it appears to be the small rubber gasket beneath the crank - would i have to remove the sump to get to it or is it possible to replace it as it is - kind regards

My son matt is just over 17 years old, he starts his driving lessons tomorrow, i cant believe i let him have a go, on our private test track, he has just driven the zed. Had no probs with gear change, or clutch. Little sod likes the sound of the turbos. Made me giggle how much his legs were shaking. i kept saying if you touch the pedal under your right foot, be careful it will bite you in the arse. Now he knows what a manual TT is a bit like. and he didnt even stall it. Few more lessons i think. Petrolhead in the making.............. Im happy its still in one piece. Stu

Recently, and after a long time looking, I obtained the original Accessories brochure for the Z32. I believe it dates from around 1992 (late), as this is the Car brochure that it came with, although it does not have a date on it. Anyway, I was thinking today how much these items would be at today exchange rate, so I've been playing with Photoshop and a currency converter. The £ prices are converted at todays rate, but from the printed prices from '92 in the brochure (if you see what i mean?) There's 19 pics to post, so please bear with me while I stick em up! ;)

Last week I had my Zed professionally detailed by Paul Dalton of Miracle Detail. He started by doing a full "paint correction" process - which involves measuring the paint depth and then removing 1-2 microns to get rid of any light scratches, swirls etc. in order to get the perfect shine I can't believe how well it has come out. All the swirl marks and paint blemishes are no more !! The pics below are before any wax had been applied. I had previously considered getting a full respray, but now I have no need. I am amazed that 20 year old paint can look brand new. I wasn't even aware I had stainless exhausts !! I would have no hestitation recommending Paul's ser…

  18. Well, it would appear that in some poeples eyes we deffinatley do. I went down to the "Goodwood Breakfast Club" supercar sunday yesterday and out of a row of 9 of us from HJC I was the only one directed into the "supercar" parking area, the others were ushered off to other parking. I was parked with a DB9, XJ220 Couple of GT2's and an R35 and I have to admit that I had my smug face on:D. All in all, it was a good morning out. Did anyone else venture there?

Unfortunately, i had a bit of an incident with a traffic light on friday night. I was coming out of tesco on friday night and was sat at the set of traffic lights, at a stand still. They changed to green, bearing in mind it was Lashing down, I started to move forward while turning right. When my rear wheels crossed the metal drain covers, the back end kicked out to the left and started to spin. I steered into the slide and the car went broadside into the traffic light. The N/S/F wing is completely crushed, the front bumper is hanging off, the bonnet is crumpled and the N/S/F inner wing has a bit of a rip in it. Also, the wheel is sitting further under the car…

something had to happen as she´s been running great , especially after the carbon canister removal. Now it´s a smoke issue. When I pulled up yesterday I noticed white smoke coming from between the left fender and the bonnet. Thing is though I can´t tell where it is coming from  when I open the bonnet I can see the smoke rising up as I have a halogen lamp mounted on the ceiling right above the engine bay but I can´t see it actually coming from the engine or anywhere around there. The smoke is white and doesn´t really smell of anything as far as I can tell, and it appears to start smoking once I turn the engine off :( any pointers would be greatly appreciat…
