General Discussions - 300ZX Related

Has anyone fitted the aftermarket rear camber adjusting arms? Was it a difficult job? I am quite handy with the spanners, just wanted to know of any problems I may encounter. Also are there any rubbers/ bushes that should be replaced at the same time? Thanks.

Hey folks just after a bit of advise on the clutch side as thursday night i had to get recovered. Id been driving for about 2 hours and parked up and the car stalled then started up again and couldnt get a gear and had smoke coming out so had a look and seen oil and leaked out probably onto exhaust which caused the smoke. Had a look underneath and thought at first it was coming from the clutch slave cylinder so got recovered. When i got back i had already put a bit of oil back in the clutch pot and i managed to get gears but seemed to be air in the system as the biting point was really low and struggling to disengage. how would i tell if my ecu is standard or upgraded.its got a mines sticker on it is this standard or would it be an uprated 1.

just purchased some gear oil MORRIS lodexol full synthetic and was just wondering if any1 uses this oil or is it not as good as the shop keeper says.lee

nearly finished my manual conversion now and have some bits left over ...torque converter,front half of prop,engine plates,gear selector assembly,standard downpipes,etc etc......im not trying to sell here i just want to know if theyre worth ebaying or binning.....lee :confused:

There is a black Zed in York which is apparently almost identical to mine, i havent seen him driving around but he is getting me into trouble lol. I keep having people come up to me and saying they saw me driving around so so the other day when it wasnt me! Would be cool to meet up with the illusive identical twin.

Hi Guys, My auto TT zed is revving on idle to about 2000rpm and gear change from 1st to 2nd is late?? when i turn the ignition on, the `POWER` light flashes about 5 times??? Anybody know what goin on, Thanks kind regard`s Darren.

I have a favour to ask, can I come look at someones Z (twin turbo) and all the pesky little pipes in the engine bay? I'm nearly there with fitting my engine and plumbing it in but need to check its all going right. Pics on the net are ok but its not the same as seeing one in real life :smw: thanks in advance...

Before I get my bov's fitted as my circies are shagged and honkin, anyone had any idling or over rich running issues / anything at all negative (apart from those who don't like the sound, I'm not overly kean on the sound but do not have brand new recirc fundings so not a real option and it's an auto so won't hear them too often) cheers for any input

What size are the brake booster vac hoses? Is it about 19mm? dia

Can you buy inner & outer sills and weld them on my sills are looking worn jack damage rust ect, and if so, whats the job like to do or cost to have done thanks.

Could someone please tell me if I can fit a radiator from an NA auto into a manual TT? Looking at the one I have bought it seems like it is wider than the gap that is there for it, saying that I haven't taken any of the metal piping out yet but just wondered if it was physically possible. I've also noticed that theres other pipes that go at the bottom and didn't know whether autos use the cooling rad to cool the auto box too? :confused:

Hi guys been on the forum a while but only just got round to buying my first Z , i have 2 Bov's that need fitting, just wondering are they easy to do yourself or would i have to take it to a garage, and how long roughly does it take an average person to do?? :D Love the new car by the way, gives me a big grin everytime i drive it.

Will be picking the car up from Pro speed exhausts tomorrow as they have finished the down pipe/ centre section and externat wastegate mount. The exhaust is 3in all the way to the middle of the car where it joins to 2 x 2 1/2in exhausts. A few pictures below, more to follow tomorrow A little confusing this one but shows the secondary manifolds with the start off the take off for the wastegate then the fat 3in section!
