What did you do to your zed today?
Hi Jay, I thought our cars run best on 10w40 or 10w60, I was told before that 5w30 would be too runny ?? Just double check before you drive it any distance as I was told the oil would actually leak due to it being too thin.

What did you do to your zed today?
Ordered a pair of 285/30/18 Bridgestone Potenza's this morning after receiving my 245/35/18 Dunlops part worns. I have to say that these were a bargain at £115 shipped for the pair, they're practically brand new:thumbup: The Veilsides are at the final polishing stage so when I have a few more funds, i'll get these back (fortnight or so):thumbup1:

Exhaust gaskets for Greddy/Trust exhaust
As far as I know, you can get exhaust gaskets from either ebay or auto factors in various patterns and diameters. You could also use liquid gasket but I don't know how effective that would be:thumbup1: I'm watching a few 3" gaskets on ebay that look like they're up to the job for my Abflug system:thumbup1: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Exhaust-Gasket-3-3-Hole-Bolt-Flange-75mm-Decat-Dowpipe-Elbow-/191260414181?hash=item2c880250e5:g:xiAAAOSwhMpT0SGP Just search for whatever size you need and they should do the job:thumbup1:

respray costs ?
Pratt's Autobodies in Carlow Jay:thumbup: I have a friend with an RB25'd RX7 who goes to a crowd in Dublin, won't go anywhere else, if you want me to find out who they are for you?? He's building a full on Rocket Bunny RX7 and he's building a wide bodied SR20'd RX8. They're both going for paint to this Dublin shop in the New Year. They must be good as he lives on the far side of the country (Limerick). Pratt's are pricey but extremely good, I get discounts also as I've sent a few people his way who've all been very happy with their work.

Christmas Madness
I absolutely detest going into town at Christmas, I'm grand when I get there but it's the traffic that does my head in!!! Christmas spirit my ass!! Everyone is "Merry Christmasing" each other until they get behind the wheel of a car, then they turn into arrogant obnoxious ****s that would drive over their own Grandmother to get a parking spot, or jump in front of you from a road junction, park in disabled spots or abandon the car in the middle of the road!! Only the other day, the main street in the town was at a standstill for about a KM, got to the top of it and three cars were double parked out on the street...Crazy stuff!!

respray costs ?
I've gone to one of the best Paintshops in Ireland, His Head sprayer worked for Ferrari in Maranello finishing the cars when they left the factory floor. I was talking to him in the summer regarding a full respray in a liquid pearl blue metallic, he reckoned the paint would be €1000 before any work was done. He said that if I wanted a "resprayed" car, it would cost €2500 and if I wanted a "rolled off the factory floor" job, it would be €5000. Don't forget that these quotes are in Euro, so would be £1850 and £3860. I don't think that either of those quotes is bad. I'm concentrating on getting the car up and running for 2016 and should be able to save for it in 2017:thumbup:

Hankook Ventus Sport K104's
Cheers Jay, I think I've found a guy with a brand new 285/30/18 Continental Conti Sport 2 for €80:thumbup1: I'll fork out for another new one of them after Christmas

Hankook Ventus Sport K104's
I think it was just the fact of new shiny black tyres that had me considering them, I never really buy stuff compulsively and like to research / get opinions, if it wasn't for Bigmincey's link I would never have thought about the age of them:innocent:

Indicator side lights
Yeah Lee, they're on my car also, Indicator kerb lights:thumbup1:

Jaikai - Fall & Rise of my purple zed
Yeah, they're great at that!! Just drag it off the back of the lorry, probably damaging more parts! They don't give a toss as long as it's out of their hair!! Seen it before, driver wants to get home early and has little or no regard for someone else's property, as far as he's concerned it's just a wreck and no-one will notice the extra dents and scratches!!:thumbdown: On a happier note..... LET THE BUTCHERING BEGIN!!:biggrin:

Lapland
Hi Dean, we went a few years ago, are you taking children or is it just the 2 of you?. My wife is a travel agent so it only cost us €800 for the 2 of us and the 2 kids. Ours was a day trip to meet Santa, we stayed at the hotel airport the night before and then had an early flight, it was well done for the kids with the airline crew etc. They had Santa land on the plane mid flight as he was in a spot of bother with his sleigh:biggrin:. On landing we were straight onto a coach and 20 mins later we were at a large cave like building. You walked down the tunnel and ended up in a large area where they had ice sculpture rooms, North Pole post office, restaurant, cookie making classes, met "elves" etc, you then put on snow suits and were brought out the far end to a snow covered woods. The trees were all lit up and covered in a couple of inches of snow. There was no wind and the temp was about -4, it wasn't cold though as there was no wind. You then walked out into an open area where the kids made snow angels, toboggan'd down slides, had snowmobile rides (adults and kids) reindeer rides, husky rides, hot drinks etc, when it started getting dark (roughly 3 hrs), we headed back in and were fed, explored around and then queue'd to meet Santa. Flight home to Ireland (Belfast), and home for 1.30am. It was a long day but overall very enjoyable, we got a usb key with the kids meeting Santa etc, I wouldn't do it again though. It was pretty expensive if you wanted to stay overnight! I think I'd rather take them skiing, as they're 12 and 15 now but if you have young kids and you get the day trip cheap enough, it's well worth it. I wouldn't have been happy if I'd had to pay the full price (€2000) for the day! If you're planning on just a holiday in the snow after Christmas, I can't really advise, as my only experience was the Santa experience Day trip. If I find a few photos, I'll bang them up for you:thumbup1: Hope this helps. Richie
