I absolutely detest going into town at Christmas, I'm grand when I get there but it's the traffic that does my head in!!! Christmas spirit my ass!! Everyone is "Merry Christmasing" each other until they get behind the wheel of a car, then they turn into arrogant obnoxious ****s that would drive over their own Grandmother to get a parking spot, or jump in front of you from a road junction, park in disabled spots or abandon the car in the middle of the road!! Only the other day, the main street in the town was at a standstill for about a KM, got to the top of it and three cars were double parked out on the street...Crazy stuff!!

I understand why SOME people need to buy several times as much food as usual because they probably have big family meals, but not why ALL people seem to buy more, what happens to it all, it can't possibly all get eaten and the shops are open again on the 26/27th anyway. I had the misfortune of going to Tesco last night (which I hate anyway), I left it until about 9:30 and it was just like a normal morning, except that all the shelf stackers were working which meant that all the aisles were blocked with cages of stock, seriously, they needed a one-way system and traffic lights.

It is sheer madness...... And every year it gets worse - most probably down to the press and the retailers whipping everyone up into a sensationalised frenzy...

Still, if the shops are full, then anywhere that you might actually want to visit for a nice day out should be relatively peaceful....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
