Ok will do in future. Of course the average wage is higher down there so fuel cost isn't such a problem!!!! In that case all your southern members can all come up and meet at my house :)

Pistonheads meet in Llangollen 08/01
I don't check the Wales section for the simple reason that anything going on in it would take me 4-6 hours driving on single carrageway roads depending on traffic to get there. Now, isn't that sort of distance worthy of a seporate region? It wouldn't take that long to get from the most eastern point of the NE region to the most western point of the NW region. Sorry to gripe but we are all driving a car that strugles to get 24mpg!! I feel sorry for the scotts... all shoe-horned into one region. Must be nice living in England and having a meet you can get to on a dual carrageway in less than 2 hours?!

anyone know were i can get...
a tailpipe insert... It looks like a fat CD that slots into the tailpipe then bolts up through a small hole on baked-bean-tin sized aftermarket exhausts. I got a Veilside system with 5" tailpipes and i love the noise, however my neghbours dont :xxx: Mrs also has a MX5 with a full s/s system - her's is even worse. Been through, over and under Ebay but nothing. Any ideas? Thankyouplease

Tried that thanks, Getting a much better response here. Section for wales doesn't seem to stretch any further north than Aberystwyth (That's right in the middle or half way for thoses who don't know!) We have just as much land to cover up here as they do down there but we only have a fraction of the population so we end up having to come accross the border into the NW reigon because it talkes less time to get there.

Nitrous Oxide
The info i got on NOS (the original) is they're old technology - havent changed since the 70's, in fact the cold fusion kit i had was "aparently" using re-branded nos solenoids. So maybe steer clear of nitrous all together would be the best advice. I don't know anyone who has/had it and raves about it, except for the people who actually sell the kits!

Nitrous Oxide
I picked up a Cold Fusion system off ebay. £450 with polished bottle. £75 for a dual purge solenoid. Fitted it myself - easy job done properly in a day. But as i said above... it's a cheap system and is subsequently a load of crap. After lots of experimenting and no noticable boost I eventually got a slight increase in performance running a 30 bhp shot but it was far from a worthwhile increase. Every initial shot would actually cause the car to hesitate. Spent weeks trying to figure out what the problem was and eventually concluded that it was because the initail shot did not contain the right nos/fuel mix as the nos pressure is far higher than the fuel pressure, the nos gets to the combustion mix first. This causes an initial lean burn which could have been fatal for me engine. Wizard pulsoids get around this by putting the regulator jets in the pulsoid outlet where as mine and all the other shite kits put the regulator jets in the fogger nosle that sits about 8" away from the sloenoid. so you have 8" of pipe that the nos and fuel effectively race eachother down to get to the jets. Before the first shot those pipes are empty then after the first shot some fuel is retained by the jet..... I'm rabbiting on now but the one thing that's important here is don't get anyhting unles it has W.O.N. pulsoids (If anyone from W.O.N. is reading this I have a full C.V. that i can forward to you  ) :hyper: PS put aside about £1500 for kit + pro install + tuning/setup

Nitrous Oxide
Braided hoses look the dogs danglies but are completely overkill unless you're running 400bhp+ setups. Easily replaced if you just want bling from any haudrolyc specialist. I think the newer W.O.N. kits are now using braided. Not sure tho.

Nitrous Oxide
Right something i have a bit of experience with.... Loads of cheap systems onb the market at the moment... They're all crap! The only one i would go for is one with Wizzards of Nos Pulsoids as opposed to Solenoids. These give better controll of the injection volume. and allow you to go proggressive (start with small shot that gradually gets bigger = less strain on engine, clutch and tranny). a 25 shot you'll hardly even feel. You can safely fit injector jets that are rated for 50% of your stock engines output. However anymore than 50bhp jets will require timing modifications (you might be able to get some electronic gismotry that adjusts the timing automatically) that will cost you BHP when your bottle is empty... which it will be most of the time as a 10lb bottle costs around £50 to fill and will last you around 6 minutes at full throttle (or 60 seconds if you have a purge kit). NX do a nitrous cool charge kit... I'd check that out. I found it to be a big PHAPH and expensive but I'm always skint so in retrospect selling my nitrous prelude and getting a 300zx wasn't such a wise move as the Z32 is by no means as reliable as my old lude but there we go... it's all fun!

calibra turbo or rover 220 turbo tomcat
FC RX-7 - ok a bit chest wig and medalion but great fun and quick...! MR2 Turbo - Probably not ideal if the intended driver has a history of bending cars... S13 - as already recommended - i second that... Fiat Coupe - Grat drive... Just built by Blue Peter presenters out of bog rolls and sticky back plastic! Imprezza Turbo 2000 isn't crippling on insurance either. All of the above would be a better choice than the 2 in the pole. at least they come from the right country (except the Fiat and Subaru obviously)!!!

Diff/prop info.
I did my diff 3 weeks ago - put in the same stuff as i put in the gaer box at the same time. nothing fancy - morris or whatever the local Partco recommended. Did the job just fine, even cured my 4th gear syncro problem. I have the symptoms of a poopshaft bearing too but cant afford to sort it at the mo... I hear that the poopshaft needs balancing - what's the deal with that?
