London to Brighton Classic Car Run 2018
The Z is looking fantastic Gary, what a vast selection of machines, I bet you had a few funny looks from people who wouldn’t believe that you were in a 25+ year old car! Apologies I didn’t make yet another event, the Z will be serviceable again soon I hope, that was an expensive ticket thrown down the drain along with my Fat Lamb deposit!

What did you do to your zed today?
Those “thickened” wheels aren’t very attractive in my opinion. Maybe Mondo can look into what’s required for the flattening of the bottom section?

It’s been on the cards for sometime now I guess but I’m saddened by this news. I hope everything works out well for you guys.

Tick over problem
Ideally you need a conzult to setup the base idle properly but as Tom says, you can do it with a basic multimeter but you do have to be sure that you have cured all the leaks because if you set it up with a leak, you’re just masking a problem.

CarMad
I heard from CarMad today who is still mega busy but sends his regards to all. However, David did drag his Z out recently to find a thick layer of dust on the car! A new set of tyres due to storage flat spots, a good detail and MOT has seen that right though so we can hopefully look forward to seeing another Z out and about in the coming months. [emoji41]

Bank holiday Monday
I vividly remember, when living in Ferndown and visiting family “up north”, leaving on a Saturday morning and seeing the mass of traffic queueing to get into Bournemouth/Poole, sometimes all the way back to the M3! The roads traveling out would be derelict in comparison. Then on the way back home on Sunday, hey presto the plethora of touring machines are all heading back out again and the roads into the seaside towns are empty!

Tick over problem
To be honest, for a significant leak, that crude smoke test is actually a very good idea! For minor leaks you would probably need a bit more pressure behind the smoke in order for them to become apparent. But yes, a compressor, a quiet environment and a bottle of snoop is always a good bet.

Project impul
Where did you get the exhaust rubbers from Gray? One of mine rattles about more than the other whilst driving apparently.

Z Spec Early Style Plenum Trottle Mechanism Cover
I had these fitted to my Z for a short period as my throttle mechanism wasn’t in a very presentable condition. However I have now had a deep clean and restoration of the area and it’s now too good to cover up so I’ll move these on. They’re painted in gloss black with no (cheesy) Z’s engraved, just a plain and simple, superb quality, metal cover. Further details can be seen on the website: https://zspecdesign.com/early-plenum-throttle-spring-covers-for-the-90-93-nissan-300zx-z32/ £40 delivered.

Z1 Intake Pipe T-Bolt Clamp set
These clamps come as an option with the Z1 silicon intake hose kit. The hoses are not included in this sale, it is only the clamps. Being a bit of a weirdo, I only removed these as I didn’t like the look of them and reverted back to the original Jubilee clips. The 2 larger clamps have the Z1 logo embossed in the stainless. They’re in good condition although I did remove some material from the threaded section so there wasn’t too much excess when secured tight. I have never tried these with stock intake hoses since I trimmed the threads so I’m not sure how easy it would be to get the nut started as the OEM hose has a slightly thicker wall. Price is £20 delivered to UK mainland.
