As soon as it's confirmed I'll get some annual leave in at work [emoji41]

Datsun 280z £25k
Regardless of the interior, it's not a design of Z car that I'm particularly fond of. I regard the 240/260 and the Z32 300 as pretty cars but everything else in between don't make the grade in my tastes!

You don't want to be involved in the 2019 Fat Lamb video with drone tracking footage Nick? [emoji57]

Fat Lamb 2019
I haven't voted on this as I'm currently able to make myself available for any of those dates. I'll go with the flow of the majority but would ask that we get the dates in stone as soon as we can. [emoji106]

I vote black but I'd agree to go for a vinyl wrap first.

I'm going to give a diy kit a go over the winter. My wash routine is fairly anal so swirls and wash marring are generally minimal, if the coating gives it a little bit of extra protection/hardness to make it last longer between polishes, I'll be happy. But I'll be scrutinising it in great detail and up close, so I'm half expecting it to be a waste of time, effort and money lol!

Hmmm, although it'll quite possibly be fine with wheels, I'd have to disagree with this to an extent which is why I'm sceptical about application to my body paint. As good as it is and as hard as the surface finish becomes, it will still get swirls and marring in it over time and going over the top of this will lock in those defects! No chemicals will penetrate and no cleanser will remove it, the only method to remove it is with machine polishing.

It'll work just fine on the chrome Andrew. I could've done a little demo on one of your rims over the weekend, doh! I use a product called Gyeon Q2 Rim.

Looking good Howard, is the orange rim a storage protector? I recently protected my wheels with a ceramic coating and the dirt just falls off when you show it a hose! You'll certainly never need any aggressive wheel cleaners again, a quick rinse and a light pass with soapy water and they'll be immaculate again! For your wheels, I would recommend getting a nice soft detailing brush to clean around those bolts. [emoji41] I've ordered a kit to do the whole car but I'm still sceptical of how long it'll last before I'm not happy with the finish.

long time no see
Congratulations on your new arrival, great to hear from you and look forward to seeing the progress of your builds. I still haven't seen your meticulously built white SWB in the metal, can't wait to see it out and about! [emoji41]

Ian, you have excelled my friend, can’t wait to see that. We need a club flag in each corner! Thank you all involved for the hard work getting that lot setup [emoji106]- Project Dittohead Red
I’d like a re-run of that tale, but with the ride height raised to a point where it doesn’t scrape on your driveway and all the rose jointed suspension malarkeys removed and replaced with compliant rubber alternatives (with the coilover settings softened). I think the ride will be more useable and enjoyable on the street, I’d go as far to say it will feel more planted because of the less skippy and crashy ride. It will feel more refined for the most part of the average usage and maybe not make you cringe at the initial usability. I would suggest having a system fabricated which operated a couple of bypass valves to feed your exhaust through a silencer each side that can be operated by a switch in the cabin. That way you can be less obnoxious through town but still enjoy the drama and noise on the country lanes. These systems are quite common now so a reliable system shouldn’t cost the earth to install. Regarding the seating position, have you fully experimented with the 8 way adjustable drivers seat to lower it all the way? I appreciate you use this car on the track and can see the merits of a track weapon when utilised, but that does bring heavy compromises, especially when starting to critique a compare the ride quality to your daily drive, but I still believe that a well sorted GT car can be every bit as fun on the twisty country lanes.- Slight user name change
