Difference between 91 and 93 clocks?
It seems that the USDM cars had a variant between these years, but I'm not convinced that UKDM or JDM cars had the same changes. The large rings are all the same size regardless of the model year, whereas the small rings are fractionally smaller in the early USDM cars. I bought a set of chrome rings for my 93 so they sent me a 92-96 set (the set with the larger diameter of the small rings). These didn't fit my series 2 UK clocks, or my series 2 Jspec clocks, or a spare cluster I have which was from an early series 1 car. You're more than welcome to try these rings in yours first so you know which ones to buy, but I suspect that our cars will need the smaller rings (90-92) for series 1 and series 2 at least (89-94).

new series of wheeler dealers
At first I thought Ed was a bit of a dope!.. Although it soon became apparent that he was actually a very likeable, intelligent and knowledgeable chap, to which I think makes the show that bit more special. I do think Mike is a tool though but I see past that for the content of the show.

A mahoosive thanks to mark derby at automozds
I'd say it's a reasonable number if you throw in a custom single piece prop, renewed bushings throughout and all new adjustable control arms etc?

Drain holes on t-top roof
A front wing is a front fender and the side repeaters are the blinkers found installed in the front fender (behind the wheel). Not installed on USDM cars (Or at least not in some states?).

Help with bovs please
Ruishy1 possibly has direct experience on the Gnome engine if you wanted more detailed info on specific parts of the systems related to that engine.

Help with bovs please
My experience is mainly based around high bypass turbo fan gas turbines and although the Gnome is a free-power turbine, the other basic principles of the engines remain. When you shutdown the engine, the fuel is immediately isolated into the combustion chambers, the angle of the compressor blades will go towards the closed position and a series of bleed valves will go towards the open position. These are part of the surge control systems (amongst others) to prevent surge during shutdown or at any point whilst the engine is running. The loud 'air brake noise' you hear on shutdown is the bleed valves venting the compressed air to atmosphere after the compressor stage as the engine spools down. In an axial flow compressor (such as the Gnome or what I work on), stall would be when the airflow is disturbed in only a small portion of the compressor (maybe one or part of a stage), whereas surge is when all stages of the compressor stall. A turbocharger has a single stage centrifugal compressor so stall and surge can generally be considered the same thing.

Buzzing rear glow panel
Essix is in the sarf eest! Besides, to those northern monkeys, anyone south of Birmingham is a southerner. A friend of mine is from Brixham, Devon and to him, anyone north of Exeter is a northerner! Therefore you may actually be a northerner, where do you live?

The noise becomes even more apparent when you close the system completely. As mentioned, theoretically it's no good for the turbos but how much of a difference it make to the longevity, who knows! I know people with other marques using a closed system for years without issue covering 10,000s of miles.

checking inner sills
You will need to remove the rear seat backs. 2x 10mm bolts each side (although it will be still attached to the boot carpet to get out of the way), then pull up the bench seat which is popped into place. This will uncover a bolt at the front and a bolt at the back which also holds the boot/wheel arch trim down. After them you will need to pop the little round black plastic plug on the top of the side trim to access the last screw. Next you will need something wide and flat to pry the trim panel out of its clips down the B pillar, it should then slide down and away (you will have to manoeuvre it out of the seat back mount/hinge). Next you just need to unclip the top part of the trim from the bottom to release the belt. Now the trim will be away and you can see straight down into the danger zone! Don't forget a torch and if you have a phone the records, stuff that down there with the flash on and you can see round the corners. Would be a very understanding seller to let you do it as it is always possible you could break trim etc.

Bloody Daddy long legs!!
Just make sure the mozzies don't bite you more than 5.3 times within an area smaller than 6 square inches of you skin. If this happens you will suffer localised accelerated decay of nerve endings and capillary arteries within 9 minutes and if not urinated on within 21 minutes, your affected area will prepare to unlock a floodgate of biologically corrosive chemical reaction poison into your bloodstream. Amputation is the best option in most cases, take a sharpened leatherman with you.

True, I guess he could do it after dinner? Although, Brian is self employed so he can probably skip that stage anyway.

Jeff at zedworld
Sorry to hear of your zed woes matey. I know the headaches these sort of dramas can cause when trusting your pride and joy with someone so far away. I hope you get the issues resolved and get some enjoyment out of the car. Hang in there buddy :)

Bloody Daddy long legs!!
If you eat one, you will suffer convulsions within 7 minutes and your heart rate will become unstable. Untreated you will be in cardiac arrest by 49 minutes and have to consider phoning in sick for work tomorrow. Dangerous game my friend.
