  1. The SWB versions very rarely come up for sale but I think a few guys have them fitted (such as Gary Wilson on his red SWB). As with most items specific to the SWB, they are rarer than the common as muck family estate model! Difference wise, the fronts are identical, but the rears differ due to the steeper rake and length of the shorter SWB bumper.

  3. Those conti sport contact 5's have topped just about every 2014 tyre review and are seemingly the tyre to have at the mo. The eagle F1's are slipping down but still hanging on if you look at the high performance reviews. However, they are nowhere to be seen in some of the more everyday reviews that the conti's are also winning: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre-Tests/#summer
  4. I see your problem, there really isn't much choice available in 275/40-17. I'd say from what is availabile, the Vreds are the best value for money assuming you didn't pay over the top for them! (£152 per tyre + fitting)

  6. I think Tesco were fined millions for this a few years ago after it was proven and had several law suits against them which meant paying out to customers who had expensive defects caused by the so called dilution. I very much doubt it'll happen again and from what I've read in fuel reviews and testing, the momentum fuel available in Tesco always comes top.
  7. What tyres are you torn between spin doctor?
  8. I agree they are expensive but the fit looks spot on. If you're going to get a snug fit cover you need it to be near perfect otherwise I would've thought it could be counterproductive. That company do offer a red along with several other options.
  9. I was looking at this company: http://www.specialisedcovers.com/car-covers.html
  10. Does anyone use one? Obviously the car has to be spotlessly clean and dry before installation but are they more trouble than they're worth? Potentially causing more scratches being a snug fit, would it be safer and more cost effective to just use a large piece of soft material and naturally drape it over the car? Or am I missing the point? I understand the issues associated with outdoor covers, wind and chaffing but I'm referring to indoor covers only. Regards, Joel.
  11. I'd say you're better off waiting until the car arrives and giving the bumper and the car to them to colour match. Chances are that spraying a fresh colour from the code and offering it straight up to 18 year old paint will cause a mismatch. Also, the bodyshop can tidy up any other remedial paintwork required whilst it's there. Either way, good luck with your new purchase and make sure you share the pictures :)
  12. Different trades have different standard practices I guess.
  13. "Proper job" = quality environmental splices neatly loomed.
  14. It's quite a common issue. The rear part of the pod that the hazard switch mounts to tends to break (normally due to incorrect screws), which moves the position of the switch and can cause it to foul/stick.
  15. My bet is on the hazard switch not seating properly...
  16. I've been through this dilemma several times and I feel your pain. I decided to keep going and enjoy my LWB and have now gone far to far to go back. No regrets. What are you main reasons for wanting to switch? To build something more competitive on a track? Aesthetic desires? To have a "proper" Z? Rarity?...
  17. Hi, I'm after the short little loom that services the rear number plate lights. It consists of a 2 pin connector which plugs in at the lower, middle of the boot area, a rubber grommet where it passes through a hole in the bottom of the boot, it then splits up into 4 wires which terminate at 2 separate lightbulb connectors. It is roughly 30cm long. I don't require the black plate that they mount to or the clear lens, just the loom, although I will take the lot of its easier. CheerZ Joel.
  18. JDM had 225/50-16 all round from the factory, UK cars had the same on the front but wider rears which were 245/45-16.
  19. Affirm. I'm working on the assumption from my memory of seeing the car that there is enough room to widen the tyres a little without fouling issues. For this reason I haven't asked for his offsets and also because I have no idea what offsets would work or not with strosek wide arches on the rear.
  20. You'd need to confirm the exact spec to be sure as the UK spec cars were all LWB only. If it has engine issues it's likely to be worth very little as troubleshooting and repair bills can soon escalate. Rust would be a top priority for me aswell for inspection before contemplating values.
  21. He never mentioned the offset ? I was just correcting the width typo. Spin doctor are you 100% sure your fronts are 9.5" wide? 10.5 et22 on stock arches is silly in my opinion, it requires silly tyre stretch and silly camber. Purposeful fitment is the way forward if you ask me. I very much agree :) those Blitz 18" wheels that Dan is selling would look b-e-a-yootiful!
  22. There are plenty of places around the country that offer injector flow test/cleaning services. I understand Noz does or use to offer this service? From memory when I had mine done a while back, it was £25 for the flow test with report or £90 for an ultrasonic clean, flow test and balance with report. Prices included return shipping so relatively inexpensive when you consider the possible repercussions of fitting an unknown condition injector.
