  1. Haha. Danny this is 2+2 specific so is no good for your shorty, which also puts spin doctor out of the equation. Anyway, here are some actual pics!
  2. I was certain that I would fit this to my car when I had it painted but a few weeks before I had a change of heart. I love the look from directly behind the car, but from some angles I find it looks too aftermarket and a bit too bulky. It kind of goes against the grain for my tastes. One if my biggest issues is that it always looks good in photos so whenever I look back to decide, I like it! Either way, it's an excuse to share some photos I took a few weeks back and with the upcoming group buy, the TwinZ gear is quite topical. Please note, this is not a for sale thread, should I decide to sell, it is already provisionally sold. 3. Is it a genuine strosek?
  4. Happy birthday dude
  5. I think I prefer the 89 spec lights for the darker more mysterious quality. Although having seen a brand new set of 99 spec headlights, they do look very tasty and I imagine the light output is more controlled than the early ones with a lot less light scatter. That would probably be the main selling point that would press me to buy them, but as they're so expensive I very much doubt I ever would!
  6. I'm with fluxdirect and insured it with a 2 page list of modifications including engine modifications. Insurance does seem to be a bit of a lottery at times.
  7. Fluxdirect are competitive for me. As Sir Charles says, make sure you get quotes for a classic policy. Footman James also has a very good agreed valuation service.
  8. The Tomei HG is not only extremely expensive but also requires a surface finish that is too fine for most machine shops which is impractical. If used within the specification/tolerances I believe they're excellent. The opinions of Cometic HG are changing amongst VG builders, after being tarnished with an unreliability record and high failure rate. I think this has become more apparent as they have become more popular within this community, although the bad reputation does appear to spill out across many other communities upon investigation. Stock HG still have a proven reliability for longevity and very high power so it makes sense to stick with those, as an added bonus, they're also the cheapest of the 3.
  9. Cometic is a swear word! Definitely use stock gaskets Russ.
  10. Twinchip are the UK distributor for the TwinZ gear. They're based in Switzerland and are a joy to deal with. There will be a preorder in the new year with discounted prices and a group buy is likely to take place to combine and save on shipping costs. http://www.twinchip.com/index.php?cat=c14_aero_&_body.html
  11. Yeah, flight radar is a better app I think. I've only stuck with plane finder as I paid the £2.99 fee on the app store for the full version before I knew about flight radar and I've been too tight to buy an app of the same use!
  12. I'm not sure it's that 'black and white' Stephen. The spats are 2+0 specific and will only fit a 2+0, however they have seemingly been moulded from 2+2 spats (which are flexible rubber) and have been modified to fit the 2+0 only.
  13. I quite regularly need to track a specific aeroplane and use an app called plane finder. It's much the same as flight radar although possibly not quite as good. Thankfully it has a search function as this is what a typically off peak evening over Europe looks like (screenshot taken just now): Obviously it's very scaled up but when you look at these during the peak periods, even when you zoom right in you realise just how much is above us.
  14. You can also get black adjusters:
  15. Hi Andrew, I forget the name of the retailer but the bag for the cover has "COSMOS" printed on it. A quick Google shows the manufacturers website and also the item for sale on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00DEH6KOG
  16. Today I randomly bought a car cover from one of the traders at the NEC Classic car show, for a generic cover, it fits very well! The pic below are 2 of many choices of cover actually fitted to a 300zx, the one on the left is a breathable, waterproof cover; the black one on the right is a non waterproof, indoor only cover (which is what I was originally after). That indoor cover cost me £25!

  18. I have a twinz rear diffuser and as much as I'm a fan of the twinz products, I think the fitting is poor. Although I'm not sure how closer tolerance all the rear bumpers are. I have a twinz rear spoiler and the fitment is bang on out of the box with zero fettling.
  19. Concorde are now in the museums David ;)
  20. That Z has a petrol flap on both sides :p
  21. You will get a 1000 different answers, my advice would be to just use a decent quality oil around 10W40, 10W50.
  22. Thanks matey, she still has parts of your old purple Z fitted to her. Red stitch, black leather handbrake and shifter gaiters which you removed whilst actually on the track at Silverstone in 2007! :)
