  1. Ah ok, I was thinking they were using one of them smoke pellets used for testing chimney flues!
  2. Very nice, welcome to the club buddy [emoji106] Have you any plans for the car?
  3. That looks very nice. If it was mine, I think I'd want to: fit a TT or 99 front bumper, change the wheels or at least make them less "bling", upgrade the exhaust and change the interior and the soft top to black.
  4. They look smashing, great work Simon [emoji106]
  5. Frustrating indeed. That clutch issue playing up again is also a pain. This might be worth a read as it may be a simple fix?: http://specialtyz.com/blog/?page_id=178 I've replaced that little vac line myself on mine more than once for the same reason, poor design. As you say, it's reassuring that these checks are done beforehand and it's also a lesson learnt as these simple checks can be done by ourselves before we turn up on the day. Did you happen to notice what the smoke generator was and did he just remove the MAF and install it into the inlet with a bung? How long did it take for the smoke to reveal itself? I try to do boost leak checks regularly using compressed air, but the smoke method seems much more efficient, so I'll get some smoke grenades! Has you plenum been modified to allow removal of the injectors without a plenum pull?
  6. I'm not sure if it was a 1off, but Simon bought that Zcentre kit and it had incorrect fittings.
  7. Get a manual shifter and "graft" it on!
  8. I'm with you on this one. My rear fogs are wired into the front fog switch, although I think the only time the button is pressed is for MOT purposes.
  9. Speak to Simon (funky), he's recently replaced his I think.
  10. It depends what hoses you buy. I think 99% of kits connect at the copper pipe (which you can buy new from Mike for relatively little). Danny had a kit made up that joins straight to the caliper but they're no longer available. Be careful what kit you buy as there are some kits listed for the 300zx which in fact aren't compatible.
  11. I'm eager to hear feedback on how the day goes Howard. I too have spoken to Greg about getting my car done, but thought I'd use you as a guinea pig! He is quite expensive, but with all things considered, the methodology, professionalism, and seemingly lack of negative feedback/reviews of protuner, suggests that they're doing a good job.
  12. Definitely an improvement over the crystal clusters, however the series 2 cluster lens' match the fog lamp lens' for the best look in my opinion.
  13. I love boxes of stuff! I have one on its way over to me now, it's like waiting for Santa!
  14. Wow! As a buyer, that specification/description is like a dream come true! That should be at the top of this weeks "classified of the week".
  15. Cool thread [emoji106] Great to see a shared passion for the Z amongst other club members. I mentioned in the Simply Japanese thread about how refreshing it was to see this "type" of car being chosen by the majority of voters as the style they like. I'm hoping I don't look too much like a pretentious muppet here, but these are the top 3 "People's Choice" cars from the Beaulieu show. I think it reinforces Simon's point and also Stephen's statement that its not necessarily just the "Z scene" with this evolving outlook:
  16. Sorry guys, I am unable to make this event [emoji17]
  17. Even your diff looks like it's going to jump out and eat people!
  18. James, this creation is scaring my children, I love it! Let's have a video of those pipes in anger [emoji6]
  19. You can buy them new from Nissan Lee.
  20. Ah, you're referring to the end pieces that go from top to bottom each side? If that is the case, mine are all present [emoji106] I guess the picture I deceiving.
  21. It's certainly a reasonable price if they do a good job, although would the £400 be better spent put towards an upgraded brake setup? New pistons may be OTT and would drive up the price, they would only need replacing on condition and the seal kits are relatively inexpensive. With the work you have done, I'd say it's well within your capability to refurbish the calipers yourself and save some money, spending it elsewhere or putting it towards eventually going for a different brake setup. They can look perfectly respectable with a carefully applied coat of paint from a rattle can. Saying that, if you're happy to keep the OEM calipers and want to stick with them, at least you will have a nice durable finish and can fit and forget, knowing that that part of your build is finished.
  22. Hmmm, are yours covered Gary? As Dutchgold says, they don't come with covers as new lens assemblies and my old ones didn't have any fitted... .. SIMON? [emoji1]
