  1. The paint is cracking just below the corner of my passenger fog lamp opening on my front bumper where a previous small crack repair was done. The paint shop is going to scallop out the area and do a proper repair whilst the bumper is fitted so it's in its settled position. There's also some slight crazing in the paint under the lacquer in a small spot on the rear bumper just above the number plate so they're making that good too.
  2. Dropped mine off at the surgery! A couple of local anaesthetics and an empty garage for a few days. [emoji17]
  3. It's exactly the same steering wheel I had fitted to mine when it was imported. Awful looking thing, it was probably the first thing that got ripped off and skipped!
  4. Happy Birthday Andy [emoji106]
  5. Thank you chap, I didn't get a chance to meet you on the day but I had a good look round that lovely vert. When it first came on here for sale I tried to convince the wife that she needs it but she didn't bite. I had hoped seeing it in the flesh might change her opinion but she keeps on hankering on about needing 4 seats and all that bimble! [emoji1] I noticed at one point you managed to catch some more Z's yourself, in a rather precarious position! [emoji42][emoji99]
  6. Thanks for sharing the pics Andrew and thanks for the compliments Gaz, just keep the flag going from Andrew and your good selfs award last year [emoji106] I got an email today from the Beaulieu awards lady, Margaret, with a congratulations and these pictures:
  7. Absolutely keep that blue, it's lovely. What colour were you thinking of changing to?
  8. That's a long old drive! I've flown there many times and that takes long enough!
  9. A pic from the open top bus as it passed, courtesy of my wife's phone:
  10. I'm sure there will be a few pics floating around tomorrow, I have a few on my camera but need to stick them onto my pc. My wife took this as she was going round on the open top bus ride of the museum with the kids:
  11. It has it's ups and downs! (Where is that roll eyes smiley?!) [emoji574]️
  12. Unfortunately not the skipper! Company business I guess; I'm an engineer for an airline and we have a couple of Learjets to get us to broken jets downroute quickly. This particular day I had a quick hop from Stansted (where I am based) to Bournemouth (thus the sat nav on the M3) to fix a stabiliser trim snag, then went from Bournemouth to Girona-Costa Brava to sort a refuelling issue.
  13. Great ending to a bad situation. Although you could have used that to your advantage by pretending that you were £200 down to the wife.. That'll be another 200 notes in the pot for this winters upgrades [emoji41] And thank you [emoji4]
  14. Thanks chaps, I still can't believe I got voted for out of all them fantastic cars on display today and was genuinely stoked to be in that arena with the 10 or so winners, let alone make the final 3 shortlist [emoji41] The GTO may not be to everyone's taste but it was a stunning example. Much like the GTO, mine is a fairly stock looking 300 and in my opinion, it is refreshing to see the public and the judges choosing cars that aren't necessarily the stereotypical aesthetically "heavily modified" (no offence to anyone that has that!), as they're generally the guys taking the trophies home. Maybe it is time for us OEM+ (twisted purists!) to take the stage for a while [emoji4] As the friendly chap with the GTO who won said to me when we had a chat "a tidy car with a nice set of wheels and minor suspension alteration is all these cars need", my sentiments exactly. Thanks again everyone who came along and Stephen for organising, we had a cracking day making full use of the 4 seats, great to catch up and meet new faces [emoji4]
  15. Yes I agree. I'll stick to those I think [emoji106] I did have one of them Juwel backings, quite expensive, but looked great when I first installed it. However, after a few months it started to get overrun with hair algae. Due to the design and all the little nooks and crannies, it was near on impossible to clean fully so it just kept coming back, I ended up doing a 3D backing delete mod eventually.
  16. Great idea Lee [emoji106] good thinking. Be careful if that thing fails though, you don't want 1.6ton of pristinely prepared Z hurtling off down the road!
  17. Believe me, if I could afford to, I wouldn't fly on the bloody thing lol! I'm sure it'll be the end of me one day, I call it the Fearjet!
  18. Following on from the random "show plate" I made the other day, I decided to make one for my front plate. It was just another quick mock up but it came out quite well. I think the brush strokes of the silhouette are possibly too thick and the overall size of the Z may also be too big? (For reference it is pretty much a 3/4 size plate) Thoughts:
  19. Early start for me with a 4:45 departure to get to the first rendezvous point at Fleet services. It'll be one of the very few occasions that I make good use of the fact I have a 2+2.
  20. You could send your OEM steering wheel to Mondo to freshen up if yours needs a spruce [emoji106]
  21. I agree, even a cheap manual boost controller is a better option. At least you can fine tune the results more accurately, with the jets, the aperture can be very hit and miss.
  22. Cripes, that's a long old drive, could you not send him a PM?
