Shock Absorber Fitment
People regularly use 255's on the front with no problem but it all depends on your particular wheel offset I suppose.

Tension rods & lower arm cracks
I don't think you would ever hear this, unless it totally failed and then you'd know about it as the wheel collapsed LOL The creaking/cracking sounds I used to get were down to the pads moving in stock calipers because the shims were missing. I think I'm going to get a couple of plates welded over mine to strengthen them even though I'm putting the powertrix rods on now.

Tension rods & lower arm cracks
I've got a small crack appeared on one of my lower arms about 1.5" long up the side of the tension rod bolt holes. As in the FAQ section: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=22382 Only noticed cos I'm changing from poly bushes to the adjustable Powertrix rods. Would it be safe to weld this or am I in for even more wallet pain? It's not as bad as the ones in the pics in the FAQ thread. What's involved in changing the lower arm? Big job?

old skool gaming ( c64 )
I had all the Atari's myself :) 400, 800XL, STe then recently went mad and made this: Made from an old arcade machine, PC, custom PCB's and control panel with trackball (Missile Command & Centipede etc), spinner (Asteroids & Arkanoid etc) and 4 joysticks for multi-player stuff (Gauntlet, Simpsons and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles etc) LOL. I've added a light gun complete with recoil and reload actions for the shooting games but it's not working 100% accurate yet. It runs an arcade interface that handles all the top emulators - Arcade, All Atari's, C64, Amiga, ZX Spectrum, PC Engine, Colecovision, Sega's, Nintendo's, Playstation etc etc I've got over 6000 original arcade games on it and gradually installing the 32,000 other computer games I bought on DVD for the emulators LOL Pic was just after I got it working so it's been more or less finished off and looks nicer now.

Plumbing in an oil catch tank
Any links on how to do this? My PCV's seem to clog up regularly with the extra boost they get and it's a pain having to remove and replace/clean them.

Turbo timer ain't timing!!!!
Turbo timers often link to the handbrake switch (so they won't run if the car isn't parked) and as you'll have had the centre console out you might have undone/disturbed it. Check to see if there's a loose wire hanging around ;)

New Member- help please
Yeah I agree with Joel :( Don't know how old your Impreza is but most of these Z's are heading for 17 years old and need a fair bit of work. I've replaced almost every part of the car over the 7 years I've had it, although it is heavily modified and will have caused a lot more strain on things. You can fairly easily and cheaply get 350 to 400bhp out of one but your Impreza is probably lighter and giving similar performance anyway.

Malfunctioning electric windows
Yes that's the one, fixed to the door just below the handle area :) Contains relays for the windows etc Take the PCB out and check it for bad joints.
