Ignition timing/detonation
Not really. More likely timing and boost related and with warmer air temps in summer it always gets worse. The boost jets will probably give boost spikes well over 1 bar so remove them for now and reset the time and see if it's OK.
-
boost jet size?(outer diameter)
They're the round barrel type about 6mm to 7mm ish diameter :)

Anyone got Smithy's foglight air ducts?
That's what I'm going to do with mine. Will get some 40mm+ flexy pipe used for ponds to duct it to the disks I think:

Ignition timing/detonation
Sounds like you need to set the timing back to 15 degrees and the boost to standard also and see if it runs OK. Upping the boost is the worst thing you can do!

Full Hicas Removal
Yes it's a straight swap. I got my long pipe from Smithy I think? I'm sure he got a few made up as a one-off but not sure he still does them.

rebuilding a crankshaft, worth it?
I would buy the Nismo unit. Even the Jun world record car used a stock crank I think??!!

Need advice help ref manual conversion
Eh? There is no switch for that is there? If your foot isn't on the brake when you put it in gear the car drives off LOL You just swap the brake light and cruise switches over (if your car has cruise) and that's it as far as I know. Nothing else to do.

6 Die in Horrific M25 Crash
It said on the news that the HGV driver said he was moving at the time but how the hell can the recovery truck have hit it so hard if they were both rolling? Recovery trucks only do about 50 or 60 don't they? Sounds like the HGV had stopped to me...

probably the worst I've seen to date...
I think it's owned by a magpie LOL

Auto box rebuilders
Best bet is to find a good second hand one but you don't know how long it will last. If you're not too fussed about having an auto have you considered converting it to manual? Will cost less than an auto rebuild and labour to swap and there's nothing much to go wrong in future apart from a clutch every now and again.

Funny leak @ Santa Pod
If it's definately coming out of the pipe pointing down then it's the aircon evaporator dripping and perfectly normal.

Tyres, which are best?
Probably whatever size is already fitted  What width are the wheels? It should say 8J, 9.5J etc (Inches) stamped somewhere on the wheel.

Aftermarket front bumber fitting problem... tips..
Sounds like it's a poor quality molding. It should be pretty close, 5cm is way out :(

I need to share this
Sorry, maybe it's not what he wants to hear but I see it every weekend. Beleive me i'm already worried about my daughter being out when she's older and will certainly try to stear her clear of drugs and all the other nasty stuff in life but I think some peoples attitude is totally naive. What I was trying to say is that you can't try to keep your daughter away from a certain crowd because one of them might have done drugs, they really are everywhere these days in all parts of society and trying to deny that is just hiding your head in the sand. Kids rebel and do exactly what you tell them not to and telling her the kind of stuff that was used to "educate" people about drugs 20 years ago clearly hasn't worked as there's millions more people now doing it every weekend and they are far from the scum of the earth and addicts some people would like to think. All I'm saying is be realistic.

Autoglym Bumper Care is superb stuff, brings all the external rubber and plastics up like new with none of that sticky mess you get from Back To Black etc

Teesside Park - May 07

Anyone got Smithy's foglight air ducts?
Hadn't noticed them, has he just had them fitted recently? Shows how long it is since I came to a meet :(

Anyone got Smithy's foglight air ducts?
Cheers! Can you paint them black and take some more pics please ;) They look pretty good :) Think I'll give them a go in carbon and paint them if they don't look right. I don't use the fogs anyway so will move the side lights to the indicators.

road trip
I've done that route in my Z and it really is awesome! Yes the sheep are suicidal! :wack: Round the west coast islands is amazing scenery but the lack of petrol stations does get rather worrying so fill up whenever you can whilst trying not to look at the fuel prices! :o LOL Looking forward to a camping trip up there in the summer :)

laptop power socket's gone iffy.... can I mend it?
It's quite often just one of the legs on the socket works it's way free of the solder with all the movement and just needs soldering over. Fingers crossed X

I need to share this
I was always fiercely anti-drugs and said no for years until one of my mates kindly dropped acid in my pint on a trip to Blackpool. What a night that turned out to be. Kind of changed my opinion on drugs and my whole outlook on life. Not proud of it but I've done all sorts of recreational drugs over the years but it's not very often and has never been a problem. It really is everywhere and all sorts of normal/decent/hardworking people do it so you can't really say she's got in with the wrong crowd. Go into any bar or club and you'll find people doing coke and pills behind the toilet doors. I've got a small daughter myself and think about it all the time. All you can do is give her some advice and hope she has the common sense not to abuse it if she does get lured into it. Anyone with half a brain knows to stay away from the really hard stuff. At the end of the day alcohol causes far more problems IMO

Every 3 year olds worst nightmare.
Too right! :slap: I'd never ever leave my daughter on her own at night and go off like that. I even feel guilty having a beer in the garden when she's in bed. At best they wake up terrified on their own and at worst the place could have burnt down. They said they were going back to check on them but not sure I beleive that TBH :mac1: Terrible considering the hotel had babysitting facilities :xxx:
