  1. Well I'd never hit anything and hadn't done very many miles with the new bushes fitted, certainly under 5000 miles.
  2. I had exactly the same on my car. Luckily I spotted it before it completely detached :nono:
  3. This is a question a lot of people have asked LOL
  4. It's bad enough that it would wear through the insulation within weeks but imagine what would have happened if it caught on something in the road with all that cable hanging. Would probably rip the battery and amp out of it's mounts and instantly short on the floor as the insulation ripped open. I wonder if he'd replace his brake lines by passing them up the boot, through the sunroof and down to the pedals
  5. Makes me laugh how peoples opinion of products changes on here over the years. For years something is really popular then it changes overnight when one person says their engine or gearbox blew up at 20psi so it must be the oil or whatever LOL Years ago it was all Blitz & HKS stuff people thought the mutts nuts. Now it's a different set of stuff that all does the same job.
  6. Haven't heard anything about him since the unit closed. I think he did a bit of a runner LOL
  7. PMSL  Yeah they were deafening with the windows down in there :slap: :D
  8. It all depends how much boost you are running. I've got some big turbo's and a fair bit of boost. If they aren't adjusted right then it could be that they aren't opening enough? On the proper Turbo XS ones you adjust them by adding or removing spacer washers inside. Not sure if that's the same on yours.
  9. Yeah that was me mate :D That brings back some memories! Not good ones either LOL On the way home from doing your ECU I was driving on the main Leeds to Harrogate road and went to overtake a guy who was indicating left into a side road but then changed his mind and decided to swing a U turn instead straight into the front of me doing 70 ish! Hadn't seen me behind him for the last 3 miles... Destroyed both cars and sent me into a hedge but luckily nobody was hurt. Worst thing was he lied to the police and they tried to do me for dangerous driving which later got dropped. He told me he was sorry he got lost and tried to turn round but on his police statement said he was visiting friends at the house outside where it happened. I visited the house and luckily they gave me a statement to say they had never heard of the guy. Took me 3 days off in court to prove it though and the Alfa was a write off! Anyway, how's it going? LOL
  10. Bought some SRF off eBay for £33 for a litre including delivery as it's around half price. Was going to cost that for any of the others anyway. Even Halfords "race" fluid is £10 per half litre.
  11. People have been recommending and using MT90 in their boxes on here for years and I've never heard anything bad about it. There are certainly a lot of very good reports so I'll keep using it.
  12. Oh my god I've seen it all now! I've seen power cables short out before and the power in a car battery would probably blow a hole right through the floor and almost definately cause a fire.
  13. You beat me to it with that post. Makes it a bit clearer. Cheers!
  14. A lot of the fluids just say they exceed DOT 3, 4, 5.1 etc so how on earth are you meant to know what is compatible? Some just say synthetic or silicon based. For example the Castrol SRF says exceeds Dot 4 and "is suitable for all disc and drum brake systems with the exception of those for which mineral oil is prescribed" The Motul stuff says "RBF 600 brake fluid is suitable for all types of hydraulic actuated-brake and clutch systems requiring a non-silicone synthetic fluid" So I still don't have a clue  LOL
  15. Not sure exactly what spec we are meant to be using hence the question really. From what I've read it's all down to the boiling point. If you are never going to exceed the boiling point of a particular liquid then it will be fine for your needs. I have never ever had my brakes fade on the road no matter how hard I push it but when I went to the Nurburgring a while back they literally lasted 2 minutes! Wanting to get something that will cope if I decide to do a track day :) The Motul RBF600 that Opie are selling off seems a very good spec and price and may well be good enough for what I need?
  16. They are actually worse for the car than the recirculating valves that are already fitted. Only worth fitting if you want a bit of noise or your existing valves are shot.
  17. I wouldn't worry too much, I've paid many professionals over the years to leave nuts dangerously missing or loose!
  18. I presume you mean Castrol SRF? Can't find any others. Gets very good reviews everywhere. It's about £58+P&P most places but found some for £33 inc delivery on eBay. Might go for that. At least it's in litre bottles - most are half a litre and I'd think you'd need at least a litre to give it a decent flush through?
  19. All correct so far!
  20. Going to bleed my brakes next weekend so which is the best fluid to go for? My car is running a lot of power and has the R33 calipers fitted so I'm wanting something that isn't going to boil after a good thrashing. Opie Oils have a sale on so any you'd go for here? http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-450-brake-fluid.aspx Think I've got Castrol Response DOT4 or Super DOT4 at the moment but it hasn't really survived that well.
  21. Well it's cost you about 4 grand for repairs in the first week and it isn't fixed yet is it? You work it out  These cars can be real money pits if you get the wrong one or start modifying in a big way. I'd just get the thing running reliably before you buy the extras. I must have spent 30 grand on mine over the last 9 years and it's still been off the road for half of that time
  22. PMSL  That's about 1/3 the volume of these beauties! :D
  23. Fantastic! You can't beat a bit of noise
  24. You're in luck! Z1 are selling them off including the Z fitting kit for $200 a pair! :D http://www.z1motorsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_22&products_id=83 Not sure if anyone in the UK has them but they will be a lot more than that. Got mine from Z1 years ago and they've worked great.
  25. Most people get the arches fitted then fit the wheel and measure what spacer is required to bring the wheel right out to the edge of the arch. If you get a standard spacer that's too small you won't be able to get a wheel with enough offset to make it look right. You should be able to use the Z Centre ones without any problems providing you are not using stock wheels - they were designed for a certain offset wheel. http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_86&products_id=92 The Z Centre spacers are actually a copy taken from the ones on my car ;)
