  1. PMSL
  2. Yes Blitz and about a grand each at the time! Black centers with chromed deep dish rims :p
  3. Have none of you noticed that it's the same as Mac's car that everyone seems to love? LOL Apart from the grey cut outs and the rear wing it's the same. Same front, headlight panel, bonnet, tow eye, mirrors, wide arches etc. Mac has changed his bonnet to a Border one since though - as have I :) I seem to remember this car had the Paul Bailey round rear lights like mine later on?
  4. Well the car was finished like that about 9 years ago so you're not wrong there :)
  5. There are a couple of air tanks and valves that I think are hidden away inside the wing. I didn't have these either but the only side effect without them is you can feel the pulsing of the engine through the pedal and on overrun the vacuum pulls the pedal down toward the floor in a very un-nerving way. Good news is you can get round it by using 2 or 3 feet of pipe to connect the booster to the balance bar so the extra air space acts as a buffer for the pulses instead of the tank. I coiled the spare pipe round the brake fluid reservoir and put a one way valve in it to stop the pedal pulling down. Hope that helps. Chris.
  6. Yeah a real shame. He was in Smokey and the Bandit II too...too :D
  7. Why was a rebuild needed? I would have thought they would be OK with new rings if put back in the same cylinders. Think how many miles a standard set of pistons will do and these are much stronger.
  8. If it has original Japanese clocks it will read up to 180. Whether this is KPH or MPH depends on whether it has had a convertor box fitted. If it doesn't that's 180kph and if it does that's now 180mph. Japanese cars are restricted to 120mph so the other way of converting it is to replace the dials with a set that go up to 120mph. This means if you ever removed the restrictor your needle would go off the scale. UK cars all came with 180mph clocks as far as I know.
  9. The original black and white version is an all time classic piece of sci-fi and one of my favorites. I was looking forward to seeing the remake but knew it would never be as good. Didn't make it to the cinema in the end but haven't missed much by the sound of it!
  10. Amazing work! MarkZX used to do some fantastic artwork - a lot of fantasy stuff too.
  11. Hi Leigh, I can sort you out an unlimited web hosting account on one of my servers so you can still have direct access to the files. You might be able to do what you are wanting with a Photobucket Pro account but the space is still limited. Chris.
  12. You've got a lot of work on your hands there  Good luck with it :)
  13. Happy birthday Dave! Is he still around? What happened to PaulC too? Think he had same birthday as me and Dave too
  14. Yes it's one of SE's cars from years ago. Owner was called Andy Elephant or some Greek sounding equivalent LOL It was in few mags and I think it was in a Top Gear feature on TV about modified cars? Seen the vid online a long time back. I actually based a few bits of my car on that one - side skirts blended in for example. Love it but think he kept adding vents a bit too long... Was about 600bhp at the time I think? Has the Veilside Supra wing that PaulG saw and put on his Fridge :D Was going to do that myself originally but chickened out! Still love it though LOL
  15. Thanks, everyone :duffer: :duffer: :duffer:
  16. Happy birthday JD! :duffer:
  17. Thanks people! Will have a beer or 5 tonight to celebrate :duffer: Only 2 years off 40 now!
  18. I think people just see that there are loads of Z's around for a grand and don't see the point of spending more. They soon find out why a high performance £40 grand car is now £1000.00 and have no choice but to spend the money on fixing it. I lost track of how much I spent on mine in the last 9 years but it must be well over £30K. I keep thinking that as I've replaced almost eveything on the car there's nothing else to go wrong. Then something else breaks LOL It just never ends with cars of this age and if you've now got more power you find yourself eating clutches and gearboxes in months. Just as mine is getting there it's starting to rust away
  19. LOL Only just come back myself! I have missed you :mac1:
  20. You can get a straight through braided clutch hose off eBay that firms up the pedal, eliminates all the pipes in the engine bay and links master and slave direct. eBay Item number: 120393769939 Just fitted one of those myself. All the other stuff from MJP :-)
  21. Didn't get that far! Got one caliper fitted as it took me a while to clean all the rust off the disks and handbrake system that has appeared with it being stood for a year. Haven't worked out exactly how to connect the hard pipes to the calipers as neither the existing Z or new Skyline brackets won't fit in the right place. Might have to bodge something up from both of them. Would have had it finished if it hadn't pissed it down as usual whenever i go near this car! Was gorgeous sun when i started.
  22. I ask a stuuupid question nd never reply too it Wot do u fink to using a tin foil apple pie dish as flywheel? Wud go faster or wot! Spin Doctor.
  23. Anyone tried open headers on a twin turbo? Might affect the performance a little
  24. Yeah people have lot of respect for Alfa's of all sorts. They used to always flash each other but that seemed to be dying out when they became a bit more popular with "normal" motorists a few years back LOL
