  1. Happy birthday guys! :D
  2. Haven't seen one on the road in years! Thought they'd all died and gone to the scrap heap in the sky LOL
  3. Which model is it, they've been doing Skylines for years?? If it's the one I'm thinking of it looks nothing like a GT-R
  4. That's gonna sting! Can't you buy the undertrays fairly cheap? Mine were in so many pieces I took the remains off and keep thinking of getting new ones.
  5. PMSL! I was soooo tempted too. I did have a subtle go myself earlier in the thread but the spelling must have gone un-noticed! LOL
  6. I've not seen black stock wheels before. Really like those on a silver car, transforms it :)
  7. I've also seen top gear test the same models of cars but one a couple of years older with a lot of miles on the clock and properly run in and they leave the new one behind.
  8. He said the pics were from his photobucket that he sent years ago???
  9. Yes if you're not paying full price then go for it :D
  10. It's got a dipstick on it with the level hasn't it? Haven't looked at mine in ages cos I check the rad level before every trip.
  11. If you've got a cone type filter on then the rain may well have been driving into it and soaked it through clogging it up. Used to happen a lot on mine and I found out the hard way that a pair of Apexi filters take a good few hours in the oven to dry! Take the filter off the MAF and put a sock over the end to stop any crap getting in. You'll probably find it starts first time. Dry out the filter and refit.
  12. Have a look under the fuel pressure regulator there's a very short hidden pipe that joins it to the fuel rail that is a really common failure. It's probably best to take it off and replace those pipes as they will be really old and perished. If it's not that then there is a really awkward pipe that joins the 2 halves of the fuel rail under the pulley for the throttle bodies. I seem to remember you can get to it by taking the throttles off and forcing your way in, otherwise it's a plenum off job! Other than that it's a case of replacing the rubber pipes on top of the engine but sounds like you already checked those. A good tip to find the leak is to put talk on all the joins when the engine is cold so when you start it up you can see the leaks even if it's evaporating. The Smithies pipes are great and will eliminate part of the problem but I bet your leaks are under the fuel reg or throttle linkage.
  13. Yeah I always wanted an Astra GTE at the time. Mate had an ex police Senator that was a right RWD beast :D What about the Manta GTE though! Now that's a classic. My brother crashed a nice one
  14. Must have been LOL It was just your average Astra, not the latest style but the one before. How do you get so attached to the most average car in existence that you'd want to put stinging insects up your bottom?
  15.
  16. Try these: http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/susp.php
  17. Does what it says really. Water expands when it heats up and runs out to the expansion tank then as the engine cools it's drawn back in. Without it you'd have to top up the radiator more often. If you get a leak there's a lot less water in the system without one so a bit more risky.
  18. Found some on eBay cheap so will give them a try :)
  19. Anyone know a good supplier of stickers or a template I could use to put the Brembo logo back on my R34 calipers after I painted them?
  20. Saw an Astra Estate today with a sticker in the rear window: "Sell my Vauxhall? I'd rather stick wasps up my arse!" WTF???
  21. I've been stopped a few times (never in the Z strangely!) and been treated like shit by some really nasty cops over the years who just try to stitch you up with anything they can vaguely get away with. Does anyone know if you are allowed to record the conversation? I know that for telephone calls you have to tell the person you are recording them for legal reasons otherwise it's not admissible as evidence. Are you within your rights to say to the police, hang on a minute I want to record the conversation? After all they will record you in an interview room. Only problem is it will probably wind them up even more and make them more likely to charge you anyway LOL Most smartphones have a voice recorder built in these days.
  22. I've melted broken parts back together with the hot-knife attachment in my gas soldering kit before but it's only really suitable for doing the back of something that's going to be hidden. I'd imagine the fumes will be rather toxic! :hurl:
  23. What's with the minging interior trim? Quite like the exterior apart from the awful swirly crap down the sides.
  24. Oh the memories!
  25. That can't be right. Mine has doubled in power over the last 18 years  :D
