rear plastic panels
Hi the plastic panels at the back of the boot , the ones right and left of the centre piece that have a little access panel on them to get to the rear light clusters, does anyone know if those specific panels from a LWB will fit on a SWB ? Cheers Maz

Leather
Check out an upholster or a shop that deals with leather they usually have some good stuff for cleanining of stains, re-colouring and refreshing leather etc. I had some good stuff froma shop here in Germany so I´m sure there must be the same thing back in the UK. Maz

oil droplets
clean the engine, wipe all the oil away, get underneath and see if you can see exactly where the oil is coming from ..an oil leak doesn´t always have t be something drastic..could be a cracked or brittle pipe or a loose connection. :)

Help finding these Tires!!
Bridgestone do the "Expedia S-01 Z N" in 275/35 R17 ZR...but at 220 euro a tyre not exactly cheap either. :)

Will not rev past 5k rpm
I´ve had all sorts of probs with the fuel pump in the last 3 months and imo it doesn´t sound like a fuel pump problem..so I´d put that last on the list of things to check. :)

Really need help from the techies
LOL yep, I found it...and you´re right..you asked the question..and ZX-eyes replied with "I ain't an expert i'm afraid however i have come accross fuel cut-off switches on various other cars and it cut's off the fuel in an accident and it then needs resetting in order for the fuel to start pumping again. On older fords it was in the passenger footwell and on peugeots and renaults it is under the bonnet near the battery, usually round and covered in red rubber, you just push them and it resets it.

Really need help from the techies
Good question mate..i read a thread on here a while back where someone asked what two gadgets were and one of them was the fuel cut switch. someone else then explained what it was for, where it was and how to reset it ( was easy if i remember correctly ) but i can´t find the thread...i´ll keep looking though :)

Really need help from the techies
how about the funny sensor thing that cuts the power to the fuel pump in case of a collision ? would explain why the pump works out of the car but not when built in. my 3 pence worth :)

Poll to split the regions
still slightly on subject..seeing as I can´t really attend the meets, although I´d love to ...didn´t I read that some of you were coming over here to take a spin on the Nürnburg ring ...when is that planned for ? It would be great to meet a few other Z drivers as "se germans" here on their Z site just ignore emails when you try to register and something goes wrong, plus i´ve only ever seen 4 other Z´s driving around in the last 5 years, and i get about a bit. So...when are you guys planning on coming over here ?

Has anyone ever converted S1 cruise control to series 2 SRS type?
If it´s not just a straight swap how about using a steering wheel boss with the cruise control buttons on it....i mean it´s not the perfect solution as you have to reach through the steering wheel to activate them ( plus you have to change it over for MOT over here ) but seriously...how often do you actually use cruise control on a car like the ZX ? :)

you can´t beat the original thing
yep Legrath that´s why I went for the Walbro mate..and to be honest the thinng works..and the car still feels fast ...but when you compare the two and have a direct comparison by test driving the two pumps withing a few hours of eachother you can feel a difference. That said, I might have gotten a Monday morning production walbro.
-
you can´t beat the original thing
Andy...I think it was niether..it wasn´t faulty nor was it incompatible ..it just didn´t deliver the goods ...with the walbro i was able to disconnect the fuel return pipe without fuel shooting out of it ...I had the feeling the Walbro "just about does the job" but didn´t have any extra oomph when you needed it...if that makes any sense.
-
you can´t beat the original thing
As you probably know I´ve been having problems with excessive pressure in the fuel tank. I checked the carbon canister with a bypass but came up with the same problem,,so on Tuesday I threw the Walbro pump out and put in a brand new TT OEM pump ...what a difference !! I thought the car felt slower on pickup with the Walbro pump but put it down to imagination but now going from OEM to a Walbro and back to the OEM pump I have to say they are worlds apart...so if you pump breaks..in my humble opinion try and get an OEM replacement :D and..after fitting the OEM pump the excess preasure has dissapeard from the fuel tank...so Topless you were right all along mate cheers Maz

fitting carbon fibre air ducts
cheers topless...but I assume as silverbullet said, to remove the fog light bar completely you have to remove the front facia , which isn´t a problem really as I had planned on taking it off to remove the carbon canister ..so thought i´d ask and see if then would be a good time to fit the ducts. :)

Electric Super HICAS
my MoMo steering wheel is about 2 mins of centre too and my Hicas works fine ..if that´s any help . plus what Paul said..white must be Hicas as i recognize it..i didn´t have a airbag on mine and i don´t recognize the red plug.

fitting carbon fibre air ducts
can the fog light bracket be removed without removing the front fascia ?
-
fitting carbon fibre air ducts
reading a thread on the z related discussion section about buying loads of parts and having them lying around ..you know the carbon fibre air ducts you can get to replace the fog lamps...does anyone know how to fit them ..i mean there are no holes to screw them in with and do you have to remove the front facia and the struts behind the fog lamps  cheers Maz

Trouble engaging gears with new short shift

Help ! Excessive pressure, not vacuum
Ossian No worries on the fuel cap saga mate .and cheers for the info now, makes me feel confident that I will be tackling the right thing when I set to work on the car tomorrow :) Stu the rush of air being pulled into the tank when you open the cap is normal mate that´s the so called negative pressure caused by the pump pumping the fuel out..we´re on about positive pressure in the tank..so no worries for you there. but cheers for the input. :)
