  1. After realising my pod has been stuck together with wire and glue, I'm searching for the little metal bracket that sits at the top of the right-hand light/cruise control pod. The picture shows the bracket I need (albeit for a LHD car). It's not the one that connects to the Hazard light switch, it's the one on the other side. If anyone has the bracket, or even a crusty pod that has the bracket attached, I'd appreciate it if you could send me a message. Thanks!
  2. Sorry, it's now sold. Apologies, I thought I had taken this advert down.
  3. View Advert Z32 Twin Turbo Manual Transmission This has been fitted to my car since July 2019 and I'm now in a position to replace it with a new 98+ unit, so it's available for sale. I've been using this box happily for the last 3 years. All the gear changes have been smooth and I've not had any 'crunching' that has given me cause for concern. It was originally removed from a 1992 Twin Turbo and supplied to me with the OEM gear shifter (not included) - as opposed to some horrendous short shifter. During my ownership I haven't abused the gearbox - my car is used as a weekend cruiser, not a drift/track toy. I'm also currently running the standard 280bhp with no power mods. The only thing to note is that it sometimes takes me a couple of attempts to get it into reverse gear. I don't know if this is a problem, as I've had similar experiences with other JDM cars of this era. It may also have been linked to my solid shifter support bracket (not included). Regardless, I thought I would mention it so you can form your own opinions. The following will be supplied with the gearbox: Speed sensor (original) Reverse switch (fitted in 2019) Neutral switch (fitted in 2019) Clutch pivot ball (new) Clutch release fork (new) Throw out bearing (new) Throw out bearing sleeve (new) Collection only from Bristol. Feel free to message me with any questions. Advertiser BambooJoe Date 02/08/22 Price £1,000 Category Parts - For Sale
  4. As a computer nerd dark themes make me very happy.
  5. That's being kept safe in the glove box until the clock is repaired/replaced and goes back in. Another job on the 'to-do list' i haven't got around to...
  6. This weekend is the first time in a while i spent any time driving/tinkering with the Zed. I finally got around to fitting the gear shift gaiter I purchased from Mondo. It's only been a year since i had the manual conversion carried out. ?
  7. IMO the Auto box is not terrible. My car was an auto before it was converted by PowerZed. It put a big smile on my face when the 'POWER' light came on. ?
  8. IMO you are much better off making sure the other boxes are ticked (especially the rust one) and then factoring in a manual conversion. Don't get me wrong, if you find a mint factory manual then great. But manual cars are quite hard to find, so you could be ignoring an otherwise perfect Zeds by going down the No Auto's route. All the parts for a manual conversion can be had for approx £800+ and with a bit of work you can have yourself a nice solid Zed.
  9. At a glance looks like a nice car. MOT history only goes back as far as July this year - so possibly a recent import?
  10. As the owner of a Black Slicktop TT this makes me happy. ?
  11. Unless something has changed in the last few months, Jimmer doesn't do the MOT himself - he uses a garage approximately 2 minutes away from him. I live in the area so my first choice would be to take the car to him, failing that I'm happy to go somewhere he recommends.
  12. I wouldn't go adding additional themes, just wondered if there was a tick-box or setting which I've overlooked. I prefer reading light(ish) text off a dark background - but appreciate the majority of internet is the other way around!
  13. The colour picker is a nice touch, although it has got me wondering if there is a 'dark mode' which can be enabled anywhere? Having spent some time using (and configuring) vBulletin 5.x, IMO this is a much nicer alternative. ?
  14. How are things going Nick? Did you get to the bottom of the issue with the trigger setup?
  15. I've just spent the last 20 minutes looking at Akebono kits, which is way overkill for my needs. Iain if you're interested in selling both of the master cylinder braces, then I am also interested in buying one (again). As for the OP, there is a good sticky on brake upgrades somewhere, it's definitely worth a read if you haven't come across it already.
  16. I had one of these off you in 2016. I sold it after I got rid of my last Zed. Wish I held onto it now :pinch:
  17. I have a Sigma, as does my brother on his Land Rover. We both have no complaints.
  18. I've looked into the 350Z gearbox before, albiet very briefly. I read in a few places that they are not as strong as the 300ZX box and the gear ratios did not lend themselves to turbos.
  19. Has anyone on here done this?
  20. A new box is approx. $1800 + shipping and taxes from CZP or Z1 Motorsports. When I was looking at a manual conversion I also called my local Nissan garage. I can't remember how much they said, but I remember that it was more than CZP/Z1. Used boxes are often sold as full conversions, although I've seen a few recently which have been sold separately. I think Banzi Breakers may have had one for sale... I've asked a couple of times and I haven't come across anyone who can recommend a garage to rebuild a manual box. Maybe that will change as good used units become harder to find?
  21. Interesting to see this thread being revived. I'm currently in the market for a low-profile trolly jack. Was initially looking at an SGS, however I don't know much about the brand and come across some 'mixed' reviews when I had a look on Google. Recently went into my local Machine Mart and was surprise at the size and weight of some of the low profile Clarke units. If anyone else has any recomendation I'd certainly like to hear them. Perhaps i'll actually get off my arse and buy one... :whistling:
  22. Thanks for the replies guys. My Zed hasn't been modified - beyond a manual conversion, so there's not a great deal of invoices or receipts to keep a track of. For me, I think the best thing to do is look at the cost of importing something a similar mileage and spec.
  23. Good evening all, With my insurance renewal looming I thought I'd do the usual rounds of phone calls and price comparison sites. However, given my past experience of insurance companies and market values, I'm keen to insure with a more bespoke company with an agreed valuation. Question is, how do I calculate how much my car is worth? Now I have an idea of what it would cost to replace the car, however if anyone else can shed some light on how they determined the value of their zed then I'd the input. Thanks
  24. Thanks for the replies guys. It didn't occur to me to check the FSM. I agree Simon, I have always considered them serviceable and would only replace it with an OEM part. I'm aware that you can get aftermarket caps with higher pressures, but I'm not 100% clear on why you would opt for a lower pressure, unless you were concerned about ageing hoses etc. - but then you'd just replace the old worn components. Anyway, I'll be ordering a new 1.2 bar cap shortly. Thanks all.
