thanks for the replys fellas, shaunmac glad you like the car really glad its going again, give me a bell some time so we can meet up again :duffer: well just to let you know it has sucked a litre and a half of oil into my intake pipes :shock: :shock: the zed is a auto so when i floor it in second it bellows out a load of blue smoke and when i go down hill and start off again a nice puff of blue smoke, my guess is something to do with the breathers cos on normal driving it doesnt smoke, when i floor it and the turbos spool up, air is being sucked into the turbo at quite a vacum, but because the breather is connected to this turbo intake pipe it is sucking air an oil from the rocker cover too, a hell of a lot of oil :shock: :shock:

hi all well i finally found out where my smoking problem is coming from, it seems oil is being drawn from the two breathers at the top of the rocker cover and is being sucked into the inlet side of the turbo!!!! why is it doing this is it a breather problem or ptu problem maybe both is it worth me changing all the hoses and ptu valves ??? any help greatly appreceated !!! :bow: :bow:

good idea i will give giles a bell, he is the fella i spoke to when i bought the turbos a really helpfull guy, will have to be caerfull when winding them in the actuators i mean, they have to be balanced dont they !! i think they do it with a vacum gauge or do i have to pressureise them ?? cheers dewi ap

hia fellas, i got these fitted to the zed and when i bought them they were fitted with adjustable acctuators now im not sure if it was 13.5 psi :o looking on my digital boost gauge it looks although im only boosting 10 psi max what is the setting straight from turbo technics,?? do u think i have a leak somwhere will it be on the high pressure side of the turbo or am i looking for something else or do i need a boost controller ?? cheers

yep ive got the goose honk too learned to live with it by now, i just get the sounds pumping in the zed, cant hear the gooses anymore LOL!!! there was someone selling an upgraded springs kit for the recuircs valve to stop the gooses but i cant remember now do a search and you might find it ;)

hi there guys ok then my zed is smoking blue smoke like a bitch!! new turbos fitted last year and running 13.5 psi also using the turbo technics breather kit!! zed has been in garage for a few months and only allowd to idle for 10 mins at a time!! only noticed the smoke after i fitted new airfilters instead of the se-nissan maxiflow paper filters!! replaced with wopping pair of k&n. after i noticed the smoke i pulled off the inlet hoses and intercooler pipe and they were full of oil!!! the oil had worked its way to the airfilters somehow!! it seems the oil is being drawn from the breathers to the inlet pipe!! i have removed the turbo technics breathers and will give it a go, also checked the passengers side pcv valve as its the eisiest on and that was ok. i have done a load of searches but cant find what im looking for, any help much appreceated cheers dewi ap

nice work there bud well worth the effort bet you thought what have i done when you first startet to cut into the bodywork :nelson: but just look at the finished product awsome!! :bow: :bow: iv posted some pics 2 of my zed having the same as you, have you the fiberglass bumpers?? ive noticed that after fitting them on some very light hairline cracks on them where there is strain on the bumpers from the bolts holding them on but i think its cos im heavy handed and ive gone to tight with th old spanner!!!!

yeah i hope a good thrash will clear it out!! might be a good idea to get the chimney sweeper round LOL!!!

car has been standing for about a year but starts first turn of the key, changed the se-nissan maxiflow filters to k&n filters today fired her up great no probs gave her a rev woah!! smoke smoke both exhausts!!!! i havent been able to take the car for a run for over a year only let it idle for 15mins at a time will the smoke clear once i have taken her for a blast ??? also noticed that with engine running i opend the oil filler cap and it was sucking in air is that normal??? there is no smoke at idle only when i rev her up!! exhaust is full of old oil from last year when i blew a piston ring is that what is being blown out, the smoke is black not blue, is it something to do with the new air filters being too efficient??? any help appreceated as im crapping myself!! cheers dewi ap

women bud! tell me about them nag nag nag!! so i gave the latest one the elbow and am now free and single best time of my life more time for zedding and posing with no one to give you lip back, i miss the cooked dinners and the clothes washed and ironed :o the house is like a bomb site tools all over the kitchen and bitz of the zed being washed in the sink !! a real bachelors pad LOL!!

having removed the front and rear screens for a respray i thought it nice to renew the rubber trim around the windscreen!! or so i thought i had a quote from the main stealers and just for the one strip across the top of the rear screen was...... hold your breath... £156 :shock: needless to say the old strips will have to go on, how on earth can they charge so much :o

i had a complete engine change and gearbox cambelt and water pump and all the realevent stuff £800 :shock:

ive had mine done at a main dealer with the engine in but with the hassle i had afterwards its better to do it with the engine out, loose bolts and and gaskets, boost leaks ect!!

i have just bought an audi a6 1998 r reg 1.8t and the instrument cluster has gone haywire !! when i pull the ignition key out the whole dash comes alive and the temp needle goes to max??? the spedo or rev counter or fuel gauge dont work ?? where do i start to look i have checked all the fuses and are all ok!! if anyone has had a similar problem please let me know how you sorted it many thanks dewi

well macca and timmi turbo i bet u dont believe i still have the zed, well 2 years on and here it is ready to be sprayed next weekend you wouldent believe the amount of work involved huge thank you to my father who has worked so hard on the zed here are a few pics for you 2 appreceate the work that has gone into it :shock: :shock:

hey timmi fella i too topped the 160 coming from hollyhead at 2am undearneath the llangefni turnoff towards gaerwen way im sure you know the one f@ck it was a bit scaery to say the least, car been off the road ever since LOL!!!
