  4. im thinking of putting these on my engine rebuild http://www.totalseal.com/ has anyone used them before?? is it a good idea to use them or should i just stick with the origional nissan set up new ofcourse!!
  5. phil at c&s wood is your man, he has done my turbos twice, much eisier to take the engine out than to struggle with the engine in and mess it up!! Contact Phil on 01942 892 568 he is in leigh and an absolute wizard with the zed, tell him dewi sent ya :nana2:
  6. LOL!! yeah that would be a nightmare if the valves fell into the cylinder!! then i would rip the heads off in a temper and forget where everything goes  how much of a job is it to remove the plennum??
  7. yep its a nissan part number, good idea i will give mike feeney a ring see what magic he can work for me :hyper:
  8. im looking to do my valve stem oil seals in situ, does anyone know where i can get this valve spring compressor?? spring compressor part no. KV10111300, it bolts on to the top of the head and allows the spring to be compressed without removing the heads!! cheers.
  9. AH HA!! MY GO, you have rid yourself of those aiv solenoid thingmijiggy that controll the fu fu valves!!
  10. oh dear 68% tart what a man whore LOL!!!

  12. and boy was he in for a fright !!!!!
  13. hey fellas, is this a good kit to use to polish my plennum & rocker cover or is there a better kit available somwhere else, can i use valve lapping paste on the mop to smooth away most of the roughness on the plennum?? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=25640&item=7957303502&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
  14. 6 x 9 in the front door in mine, built an mdf frame, just coppied the origional steel one and i didnt have to cut the door card either!! and fitted some tweeters to the top of the door sounds awsome :hyper:
  15. i had the same thing on my audi, beat the shit out of it with a socket but to no avail, went to my local audi dealer and hey presto 30secs later all locking bolts off and a brand new set free of charge :hyper: having said this they were origional audi locking bolts have you a number code for your lock nuts?? as the guys said halfords do a set, but try your local tyre depot first let them sweat it out and cut there knuckles LOL!!
  16. cheers fellas, dave mac i have a set of stock pistons that are in good nick, ok then dont need 555 injectors, just need to concentrate on getting a good srtong solid bottom end, whats the damage for rings and full set of bearings?? do i just get the same bearings as i have now, no need to change them for a different size is there, just use the info on the bearings to order an exact match, who is best to order from?? cheers fellas,
  17. i see said the blind man, yep got a copy chip in the zed running 13psi, so this time im gonna get it right LOL!! maybe i can use origional pistons, not the melted ones though LOL!! with new rings and bearings to build a good bottom end that will run bout 15psi safely, with 555 injectors and a proper chip is this the right way to go, do i really need forged pistons if only going for 14-15psi, and safe my dosh for some 555 injectors!!
  18. so whats this talk of forged pistons then, done a search but still cant find an explanation!! gonna rebuild my engine should i go for forged, are they stronger so i can run higher boost, my stock pistons melted like ice cream in the summer LOL!! mainly due to detonation :smash: can i use forged with the standard rods, not looking for mental bhp just a good solid bottom end, je pistons look good with total sealed rings, not a lot to spend so how much for these forged jobbies, cheers fellas
  19. yeah im quite sure i can make a spring compressor in work no problem and i even have a spare engine to practise on, the only thing that is worrying me really is doing the cambelt as i have to remove the cams to get to the seals!!
  20. oh dear this does sound like a big job  ok then when coming down a hill or deaccelarating i get no smoke but just after deaccel when i put my foot down to start off again i get a nice puff of blue smoke!! i dissconected my breathers to prove it wasnt them and it still smoked when i started off after accel which only leaves one thing i think valve stem oil seals hope im right!! i have read the nissan manual and it says it can be done with the heads on!! i think i better do a compression test before i go any further what do you think?? what is the appropriate cost of doing these seals heads off ect??
  21. hi there, any of you guys changed your valve stem oil seals without removing the heads?? how much of a job is it??, is there anyone not too far from north wales who can help me with them or i can bring the zed to them, any help greatly appreceated, dewi thomas
  22. i blocked off my pcv valves today but left the hose that comes from the rocker underneath the plennum open, and also blocked off the turbo inlet pipe that goes to the rocker breather but left the pipe on the rocker covers open its the ones by the throttle body's hope i havent lost you  i did this to try to find out if my breathers are faulty or its my valve stem seals, as it is set up now the breathers breathe straight to atmoshere and dont go into the plennum or turbo intake hose, :nana2: so just got to work now after bout a 10mins drive and i opend the bonnet, looking at where the battrey is there seems to be oily smoke coming from the hose that should got to the passenger side pcv valve, is this normal does anyone know?? it wasnt a lot of smoke just a little that i could notice it, could it be a sign that my rings are about to give way??
  23. hi there paul, i did say to blank off the inlet to turbo pipe not the breather pipe, what i said was to put a filter on both ends of the breathers so the engine can breathe naturally hope this is making sense :)
  24. wow lotta work in there macca looks great, but whats with the sticker on the rad cover that reads "impotent" if my oil burning turns out to be valve seals i will be blinging my plennum 2, what did you use to bling the plastic covers to like chrome, where r your turbo hoses gone, some pretty trick pipe work in there somwhere im sure :p
  25. cheers guys, i will deffo look into this, will try to get in touch with lymon and see what he did, its worth a try anyway if only for a short while :D
