The gasket is the easier route as doing the head will mean a bit of valve work as well if you are gonna change the compression area that way

using hold means that it holds the gear change till later , it isnt a garauntee though as the throttle position can force a gearchange, I have tried using it but it isnt a total solution

I like to drive smoothly through corners Problem is getting on the power early as the damn box wont stay in gear and changes down due to throttle position and rpm, so what happens is as if you had lifted off and dropped back on.....sphincter testing times to say the least

if you can get them for the zx I dont know if you can so you might have to get them made up

I am tending to disagree with the manual conversion info now. Two reasons The car was specifically altered to take advantage of the fact it is a auto ( Different cam profiles and a different ar on the turbos) There is no loss of boost on gearchanges just a change of ignition timing to reduce power which means you come straight on gearchanges with full boost. The only thing i am having problems with is corners where I want to use the torque of the engine without changing down and the autobox disagrees with me

if you dont have a cooler fitted its £1500 from what i can gather from the traders section £1350 with a uprated cooler already fitted

The autobox after around 400bhp decides that it is made of chocolate. I believe the fast road version ztech do is good for 500bhp

the actual reason they are cheap is torsen diff bearing failure Cookie racing do a upgraded box rebuild including heavy duty bearings for under £200 Quaife can also do a six speed box for em as well. fastest front wheel drive car in the country is a 200 bubble turbo using the 620ti engine and box. A few years ago it was the 620ti that held the fastest front wheel drive car

oh yeah i had a few 620 ti's and they were a lot of underestimated fun

Wow I thought i had it bad but just wait for the backlash now, anyway Thanks for the support from the gto owner but the only time I would want one is in the conditions like they were last night, I test drove a few phase 2 versions and the ZX, the gto is soulless ( but predictable driving ) I cant understand why it was called a barge cause it did everything I asked it to but there just wasnt a feeling of ejoyment I got from the Zx thats why i went for it :tongue:

wow good response here guys The last starw lat night was when i went fully sideways with just slight acceleration I cant but think how much better the z would be if it was 4wd as I have owned a few quattros in my time and it makes a hell of a difference

hehe In all honesty the weather on my drive home from st austell to penzance was some of the worst I have driven in ....ever. In cornwall you get used to crap weather but this was my first drive in the Z where every road was a mini stream waiting to slide you accross the road into the walls.

all im saying is the 4wd would of been usefull :p

Ok This is the first night drive in awful raining weather around cornwalls rural roads I have done in the Z Youre attention with this car has to be 110% ALL the time, this is the only time I havnt enjoyed driveing the Z and thought the 4wd of the gto would of been usefull :mad:

you will need to earth the sender then try a bit of wire touching the thread of the sender that is earthed and see if you get a reading
