  1. LOL!! so wheres the other MAS then??? is it like a "spot the MAS" competition & we put an X where we think it is??? :D actually, they remap the ecu to double the signal from the single MAS, allowing twice the airflow. from JWT web site
  2. JB looks more like a stand up comedian!! :D wheres the Banjo player tho???? ;)
  3. the phantom editer strikes again!! :D
  4. LOL!! pun intended?? ;) :D do we all know what the thrust bearing is there for??
  5. LMAO!!! my fave thing is being part of this place - it cracks me up :D :D :D
  6. LOL!! i have 20 yrs experience working on cars AND i'm an MOT tester (& MOT quality controller) one day he might make it too if hes lucky! ;) :D
  7. FFS loosen up - do you mean wear out!!!???, the turbos spin at 100,000 - 150,000 rpm, the run on a fluidised bed of oil, no you dont want them to "loosen up" if they were stiff to start with then i would take them back!! perhaps the actuators have "bedded in" (worn) & gone weak eh??? :D
  8. *cough, cough* bullshit *cough, cough* WTF is there in a turbo to "bed in"???? hopefully nothing is touching anything in a turbo housing. its all free floating!! sounds more like a wastegate actuator problem to me! if the wastegate is set to open at 14psi then it will vent at 14psi!! so even if the turbo could "bed in" & somehow produce more boost, the wastegate should still limit it anyway ;)
  9. & then convert to a manual & really feel the difference ;) :D
  10. its quite a simple little job really, a little fiddley to get to them but not too bad :)
  11. I'v got 6x 2-poster ramps & 1x 4-poster flat bed ramp with full electronic 4 wheel alignment facilities is this what you mean!?!? :D :D
  12. as far as the MOT is concerned, the only reason for rejection is if there is "excessive movement caused by wear" the tester will not be able to use a dti for the test but must simply use his own judgement. normally for a joint like this to fail, it must be obviously knackered, not just have a little play in. it must be close to the end of its life. some testers get a little carried away with things like this. is it about to fail - no? then pass & advise. if there is data from a manufacturer to say how much movement is allowed, then this should be taken into account, as the movement is obviously within their tolerences.
  13. LOL!! had a Focus giving it the big 'un on the way back from the Brighton meet. 2" away from my rear bumper at 90mph. road clears ahead - bye bye Focus :D
  14. FFS!! its a wonder anyone on here actually bought one    :D
  15. got mine from Courtesy in the states. could also try MJP??
  16. just found out Mike Groves is selling up for a MR2, for a MR2 FFS!!! :(
  17. yup, works like a torque convertor on an auto, but without the losses ;) :D its all about getting the engine to max torque & keeping it there while feeding the power to the box without spinning the wheels or get TC, put it on max slip then do it. mucho power no spin! :D
  18. are they Female then?? :D
  19. not strictly a hybrid then ;)
  20. Hybrids should see a nice power increase as well as reduced spool up times. a hybrid turbo, as the name suggests is a hybrid mix of 2 turbos, usually a smaller turbine matched to a larger compressor. the smaller turbine side allows faster spool up while the larger compressor allows high air flow. different mixes of the 2 sides of the turbo will produce different characteristics & will vary the amount of power given. deffo will be better than stock tho ;) i want some!! just need to find a spare grand or so!!
  21. PMSL!!! :D
  22. you can NEVER have too much power ;) :D
  23. thought everyone knew that!!! :D
