not sure on a zed, but thats the sort of location it would be in - have a flick through the online manual. the valve would be a sealed unit, & to replace it the system would need to be drained. might be worth a few taps with a hammer to see if it frees it - tho it may make it worse!!! :D

oh, & to put it into perspective: £20 works out at just over 5p a day!!!! are you really saying you cant afford 5p?!!?!?!? :rolleyes:

if you own a zed, then you can afford £20 subs!! & for your info, I have a family & have to budget carefully. paying to keep this place going was important to me tho. the point was, the members that paid kept this place going! without the commitment from us all we wouldnt be having this little chat ;) check the smileys ;) :D cool :cool: my post had a positive effect then :) how could paying £20 for us all to benifit possibly be classed as thinking of myself??:confused: erm, actually this has been discussed for some time now (in the members only areas ;) :p ) & most of us are happy to pay again, but feel that it would be fair if non-subscribed members were to pay up 1st, bringing the costs down for all. like i said, glad i could help!! he he! done mine this weekend too! ;) the sensor in the R/D is the low pressure sensor, if its disconnected then the system thinks the pressure is low & will not turn the compressor on. the noise isnt coming from the compressor is it? & no! it shouldn make a noise - all you should hear in the car is the blower motor. it could be a sticking expansion valve - a pressure test may confirm this when running

not quite true actually. boiling point of water is much higher in a pressurised system. our mercs go up to 120 before going in the red. in this hot weather, running at 100+ is not uncommon

yes, but warrenty companies will only pay for items which have failed due to a mechanical breakdown - NOT for items that have failed due to wear. from our warrenty co: definition of a Mechanical Breakdown the suddon & unforeseen failure of a component arising from any permanent mechanical or electrical defect, (for a reason other than wear & tear, normal deterioration or neglegence) causing a suddon stoppage of its function, necessitating immediate repair or replacement of the component before normal oporation can be resumed

after Peter Hoods, lenghthy & exhaustive investigation into the reliability of modded cars. i was very suprised to discover that my car has broken down so many times (without me knowing - perhaps while it was parked :confused: ) & the plastic bumper will have to go i suppose - even tho its a 99 spec genuine nissan one. im trying to fabricate one from balsa wood ;) in fact, owning a zed is a complete & utter unecassary expense anyway, we should all sell up in favour for 998cc fiesta's :D actually all cars should be banned! im just gonna use my pushbike from now on!! :D (disclaimer - if anyone should take offence then please note this is just light hearted banter :p )

so are you saying that standard cars dont go wrong?!?!?! :confused: :rolleyes: how about a stock car thats driven hard all the time vs a modified car thats driven normally & the occasional hard drive??? or how about a modified car thats serviced regulary & well maintained vs a stock car thats not looked after well??? how about component failure thats just down to sods law?!?!? im sorry, but theres just too many variables to say "modified cars are more reliable than stock ones" all IMHFO of course :p
