  1. cheers guys. il buy 1.2 & 1mm. they are only like 3 quid for a set, so dont mind playing about. decating is opening a can of worms, but someone said the recent poll sugested that 80% of people who decated saw no smoking issues. if car smoked on standard boost, or on idle id be a bit hesatant. but cars done 75k miles, and turbos "seem" solid.
  2. yes i know thanks guys :) car is standard at the mo. getting it chippt first, then boost jets, along with decat. im after 15PSI at the most. was going to get a 1mm mig tip/boost jet. this good? or would you advise 1.2mm. remember that de-cating will raise it slightly?
  3. i have not installed any aftermarket dv. just want to block of the standard ones, so have the chatter noise. (know theres a debate to say its bad etc) do i have to block off the vacum pipe on the standard ones to acheive the pigeon/chatter noise?
  4. new to the Z world, and to this forum really. will be upping the boost shortly, on previous cars iv increased the boost by usung a dawes device (manual boost controller valve thing) on here people use "boost jets" (i thaught thats what you called manual boost controllers, but ive found out they are just mig tips) anyway, do you use boost jets as they are cheaper than daws device? or easier? as if you had daws device youd need to make sure they are dead the same, as 1 turbo could be running 12PSI and the second turbo 16PSI.

  7. ive removed the pipe that goes from the dv to the air intake pipe. (this is the pipie that keeps the air recirculating to the system?) ive blocked up the ends, so now sorta makes a dumping niose, but nothing major. im after more chatter/pigeon nois, do i have to remove anyother pipes off the standard re-circs?
  8. more update lol :) had mechanic onit, there was no backpressure or something, so wouldnt push the thing out. think i just left it out last time checkt oil :headvswal cleaned the oil up, put the dipstick back in, it seems fine now. gave it a hard bit of driving also to make sure :) :hyper:
  9. update: looks a bit worse than i thaught :( got underneath, its everywhere! all on the chasis etc, goes back half way ov the car! only on the passanger side tho. ive wiped the oil off. see if the dipstick pops out again. i hope theres a broken oil feed pipe or something???

  13. following the droplets of oil on floor, lookt in the engine bay. there is quite a bit of oil in there, splash over the battery etc. dipstick was out half an inch also. this too much pressure? sounds bad. car smokes a bit on high revs, but asume thats the turbo seals.. views please?

  15. its been raining, when i park the car theres oil om the floor. and if i move it a few meters forward, and go back, it appears again. so sounds like its doin it bad :( any suggestions? il get a tidy mechanic on the scene ASAP,

  17. please go into this more... i did this on my S13, put a one way valve in the breather system, so doesnt smoke when on idle..
  18. yea i supose so. is it worth the risk i ask? decat = faster spool up, increased power. mine has done 75k miles, which is low (1991) maybe ok to decat, and not have smokey turbos. dont think its worth the risk tho. can someone go into the One Way valve thing on a Z32 please? if smokes on idle, have a valve in the intake/breather pipe to stop this...

  21. PS another thing, on the S13, you can put a ONE WAY VALVE on the air intake/breather system, this does something with the pressure, in the sense that you dont smoke on idle. not sure how would work on a Z, as iv only just got one.
  22. hmm... thanks guys, a little put off now tho! i removed the exhaust on my S13, replaced with a decat & a blitz nur spec. as soon as i started it, it poured out with smoke! changed the turbo then it was ok (well its smoked on boost) then again, i did it on my first car, and had no problems at all. all depends on the condition of the turbo i guess?
  23. really! great, ive got a Import TT, so no pre-cats. i would imagine they are difficult to undo from the turbo, as boolts seize etc. thaught the de-cat would just replace the cat, not the downpipe etc. what you mean? about the backpressure isit?
  24. decat pipes are a little more than i expected! lets not forget that on the Z there are not only the 2 catalyc coverters, but ALSO 2 pre-cats, coming from the turbo downpipe. dont know how hard the pre cats are to get at/remove tho ?
  25. yea i know the HKS sound, had it before. either after a splashing one, or just the Pigeon will do :)
