  1. Either that or the brakes I'd expect. :)
  2. That's what I'm thinking fella. :)
  3. I wouldn't expect the blame to be on just spigot rings, or lack thereof, if it only happens under breaking. If it was missing or broken rings, it'd happen over 60-70mph regardless. It's free to check if any are missing or the wrong size though, and if you do need to replace them, you can buy a set for 3 quid on eBay provided you find out what size you need to suit your wheels. Unless you have genuine Nissan wheels anyway, if so then the centre bore will already be the correct size to suit your hubs. Since it only happens under breaking, I'd be more inclined to suspect the brakes, or maybe even worn bushes that are shifting about under breaking.
  4. Fair enough, it could have been something to do with the smaller diameter of the rb25 afm, but my skyline definitely didn't run well with one. Could have even been a one off somehow, but I was scratching my head with the issue for a while since I'd replaced the afm, replaced the wiring from afm to ecu in case the shielding was bad, tried a different ecu, etc. Still got the ecutalk logs somewhere I'll expect.
  5. On Toyotas I agree the apexi is easily one of the best. However on my skyline I found they caused turbulence as the air passed through the afm, causing the afm readings to go too high, basically maxing out pretty much as soon as I made positive boost. Changed for a different air filter, and suddenly it was faultless. My zed also has an apexi, though I can't say I've datalogged it yet or added my wideband to see if it's also happening this time around.
  6. They're the same as what's used on the back of a k11 micra if that helps. Mine had the same issue with the snapped terminal on one bulb.

  8. All I'm thinking is if the passenger window no longer works if the module is unplugged, then it definitely passes through the unit. It may not use the relays, but could still be dry solder on any of the other connections in it. Could be down to the window lock switch too of course. ;)

  10. Does the passenger window work when the relay module is unplugged?

  12. You don't have the window lock button pressed in do you? As for the relay module, the black box, I know on the skylines at least there's a relay for each window inside it, and it's normally dry solder joints on the pins for these relays that are the problem. As has been said above, open the box up and look for cracks in the solder under the relays, or on any soldered connection in fact, just the relays are the most prone in there. On skylines at least, I'm assuming the zed is the same since they're pretty similar throughout.

  14. The consult port is a wiring plug that's in the bonnet release area under the dash. Mine was tucked behind the kick panel near the fusebox.
  15. Not read the auction, just saw a job lot of them. Depending on how bad they are, the lenses could be restored. Did the same on my skyline.
  16. Replacements can be found cheap enough, and there's plenty to practice on if they've never attempted opening lights up before: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=381243212162&alt=web
  17. Not nice, they don't even match the centre panel. Just take your standard lights out, open them up and switch the orange lenses for clear ones. Or get Phutumsch to make a set for you instead.
  18. What does she weigh now then?
  19. Considering the weight of these cars, that sounds like a pretty decent time for a non turbo. Well done! I'd have gone, but mine isn't on the road yet. :(
  20. Mine's rotten, but I bought her knowing so. Just not been able to get her anywhere to be repaired yet. :(
  21. I'd planned on going, but my zed isn't going to be on the road in time. :(
  22. I think the cut off was mid 95, so it could still apply. That's if any of our rules apply over there of course.
  23. How old is the car? If it's an import that's pre 95, you can tell them that the car shouldn't even be subject to a cat test, since there's no exact match to your chassis number in the database.
  24. They're reflectors, since those aftermarket lights don't have any.
