Importing something yourself.
I've spoken to jurgen already, and he wants to charge me over 5 grand. I've known of him for years so know he makes a lot of money out of importing cars, hence why he has that Jun r35 gtr. I don't have the money to waste on profit to someone.

Importing something yourself.
Just wondering if there are any hidden costs to importing a car yourself. I can get a low mileage tt (auto though unfortunately) delivered to Newcastle for £2300, but what costs are there for actually getting it registered and on the road once it's here? I asked on Facebook last night to see if any of my friends knew, and it looks like the dvla take 85 quid to register it, you've got to get it through an mot, and tax it. But apparently the tax will be 30% of the cost of the vehicle on top of the regular road tax cost. Is that correct? Meaning I'll end up spending nearly 3k all in?

Any decent lwb TT manuals around?
I'm after a zed, preferably KL0 silver or KH3 black, but will consider anything if the car is good enough. It must have the proper rear seat belts instead of the lapbelts the very early ones got, since I need to be able to get my kids in the back, and rust free. Already modified would be preferred, not too fussed about bodykits and the like, but I want it to be a quick one if I can help it, so breathing mods, boost increase, maybe an NA rear end swap, etc. Is there anything out there worth getting at the moment?

Skyline owner considering his options. :)
Do I have to be a paid up member to be able to post a wanted thread?

Looks like I might not be able to get to Mondo in time before he goes out, so is anyone else around up this way?

I don't suppose there is anyone in the Newcastle area with one that I could take a look at, we're up that way today anyway?

Must admit the noise is about the only thing I liked too. It's not a bad car by any means, but just doesn't do it for me if you know what I mean. Really want to drive a z32 to see if I'd prefer one. Any offers? :D

I don't suppose there's anyone in the Harrogate area who'd let me have a go in theirs? :)

Me too, hence why I'm wanting to make sure a fast z32 isn't. :)

Anyone know how they compare to drive them?

Cheers guys! Those of you that have driven/owned gtst's before, how does a z32 compare? I know the later ones share the same hicas system as the gtst, and the engine responds to basic mods far better, but other than that I don't know much about them other than they got good reviews in their time.

Hi all, some of you know of me already, Adam-Murse and Coldel to mention a couple, but I'm a skyline gtst owner considering trying a z32 300zx. I've had my skyline for nearly 5 years now, bought as I used to have an mr2 turbo but needed rear seats when we started having kids. The skyline was intended to give me something fun that I could still enjoy, but I've never had the budget to make it particularly quick. I've been considering a change for a while now, and the car had been absolutely faultless throughout, until the head gasket popped last weekend. Not bad for a 22 year old car with 107,000 miles on it I guess, but now I can't decide whether to fix it or use it as the push I needed to try something else. So here I am. I need to try one to see if I can get my kids in the back, but the only other must is that it's a TT. I've been offered 2.5k for the skyline as is with it's blown gasket, so that'd be my budget roughly. I assume for that I'll likely be finding autos, but will be looking at converting it to manual ASAP. Is the non turbo gearbox strong enough for a modified vg30dett that'd probably be upped to the 450-500bhp region? I assume the non turbo box would be cheaper to buy. Also, did any late spec z32's get a 6 speed at all? Anyway, thought I'd say hello. I may be asking more questions on here while I make my mind up whether to make the jump or not. :)
