  1. Typically I saw an na back end come up at a decent price too, but can't commit to it until I actually have a car to put it onto. Hope he still has it by then.
  2. Think so, just waiting on the guy who currently has it to get pictures of underneath for me. :) Can't say I've been looking for others over the past couple of weeks, wanting to see how this one turns out first. Had a few offers though, one zed with a dead auto box, and a couple of evo's.
  3. No, not me unfortunately.
  4. Nice price hike there. [emoji15]
  5. In fact, here's one he's selling on ebay at the moment. 89-93 hydrailic hicas: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300zx-r32-rear-rack-end-tie-rod-/221245740316?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item338346151c 93 onwards electronic hicas: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/skyline-r33-gtst-hicas-steering-rack-end-/220782654424?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3367abf3d8
  6. He's called lammy426 on wwwskylineowners.com if you can't find him on eBay.
  7. Langdon4x4 on eBay sells the hicas track rods at a very good price. I know for a fact that the later 300zx with electronic hicas uses the same part as the r33, and the early hydraulic ones appear to use the same as an r32. Tell him I sent you from the skylineowners forum, and you may even get a little bit of a discount. He sells the balljoints too if needed.
  8. I'm not there yet, but with any luck once I have one that'll change. After being in Ian's ones (yep, been in Zebedee too), they do feel a nice car to be in, regardless of the pace they're going.
  9. Already got these two:
  10. Ian's isn't over 400bhp, according to him it'd need a map first. To get an idea on acceleration, sub 400bhp zed's seem to do high 13's on the quarter mile at best. My skyline was quicker than that, and still wasn't enough. What I actually said was I'd ideally want it to an over 400bhp to give me a chance of enjoying it, acceleration wise at least. I've not once said I expect over 400bhp for my budget, just that I want as much as possible.
  11. I'm not going over my budget, and simply attempted to explain my reasons. People weren't trying to tell me about this car, people were using this thread to take the piss since it's known I want to spend as little as possible and that doesn't appear to be acceptable on this forum.
  12. I'm not disputing any of that, or doubting any of you. I'm simply saying I may get lucky by finding one that needs mechanical work instead. From what I've seen of the zeds so far, they're no more complicated than the skyline, sometimes less advanced in fact, and I've fixed a fair few skylines already, so should be able to muddle my way through. Parts appear to be cheaper too. I've said my reasons for my budget and why I refuse to pay any more for the initial cost of the car, why I'm looking at these cars, and what I'm HOPING (not EXPECTING) to get for my money, so can you guys maybe just keep an eye out instead of just giving me shit?
  13. Bloody hell, so they're going up too then! I sold my rev3 turbo for 3.5k nearly 5 years ago, with around that power. UK spec full leather interior, rev1 black roof liner, etc. I had to sell it since I needed rear seats due to having kids, I ended up never end up using the car, so tried getting something I could try to enjoy while still getting them and pushchairs in the back. Hence getting the skyline. Unfortunately I've never enjoyed it.
  14. My story doesn't keep changing, it's the same one it always has been. I can sell my skyline as is for 2.5k, got several offers at that already. But if I were to break it, provided everything sold, I can increase that to 4-4.5k. My folks have offered to lend me the cash and me pay them back over time, so can have that sum pretty much immediately if the right car pops up.
  15. I'll give you that one, it's one of the reasons I'm in the market. :)
  16. If I had the choice, I'd go back and stop myself from selling my mr2 turbo. I'd hoped these cars would feel enough like them to keep me happy with it, low slung, t bar, but have rear seats. I've always liked the look of the zed, but that's my reason why I'm here. Sorry to say there are cars I've wanted more, not trying to offend you guys, but that's just how it is. That said, I lusted after skylines, got one, and was rather disappointed. That's why I'm trying to buy a car with my head instead of my heart this time around. If I get one and love it, then great. But please don't judge me for not being as passionate as you guys just yet. At the moment, it's all about the money, and finding something worth getting for the little I have.
  17. Can't stand Impreza's, love evo's though. :)
  18. You know what I mean. The skyline had more power than a standard zed, is about 200kg lighter, and also has shorter gearing. The head gasket only went last month, I've been thinking of getting rid of the skyline for a year or two already, and the head gasket is just a good reason to look at something else now. I've already explained that even if I fixed it, it's still worth more in parts, so why bother if I didn't enjoy the car that much in the first place.
  19. I've got no issue spending over time to keep cars going, you have to do that regardless of what sort of car it is. And since I can do most of the work myself anyway, it would be manageable. I even have some parts already from skylines. It's possible, provided I can find a car with no rust. I'm not ignoring anyone, as it may well be a big ask, and I may have to be lucky finding one rust free in my budget, but being judged for trying is a bit uncalled for. I shouldn't have to justify myself all the time.
  20. It could be, but it's still more than I've got and it's still standard, so will be less fun than the skyline, so wouldn't be much point.
  21. Also, me offering the skyline to you was a joke, kinda figured that was obvious. Even had a laughing smiley.
  22. How am I insulting anyone by explaining why I don't want to spend more than my budget on a zed? I haven't fixed the skyline simply because it wouldn't make it worth much more, it's still worth more in bits, so what would be the point? I don't enjoy the car, and had actually been considering a change for the past couple of years. Also, not once have I said I expect to find one highly modified one for my budget, but the more mods I can find the better.
  23. I'm capable of fixing cars, so there's no guarantee it'll cost loads of money if I buy a cheap one to fix up, just depends what's wrong with it. The only thing I don't want to take on is rust, and a UK model is more likely to be riddled with it unless it's spent it's entire life hidden away in a garage or been repaired already. Even then, there's no guarantee if it's been repaired well or not. I don't get what's so hard to understand about someone not having a large lump sum up front to throw at an expensive car that may or may not still have hidden issues. If I bought a cheaper one and it did need more later, so what? That's more affordable over time. Besides, there are better cars out there for the money you guys think I should be spending on one. If I had 5-6k, I'd simply get an evo instead. It's not that far off r33 gtr money either. As I've said, my maximum feasible budget is around 4-4.5k all in, for a car that genuinely needs no work. And for that I would want a hell of a lot more than a standard one. Hence why I've not even considered this one.
