  1. Why would anyone leave feedback for a registered user though because they cant sell anything?
  2. Zero, after spending about a grand fitting a koyo rad, replacing every coolant pipe and bypassing the plenum i can safely say my zed doesnt leak. Off to find some wood to touch.
  3. its some sort of handed hold down i think but not for the battery, im going to have to go and open the garage cos its getting to me now!
  4. Its a fair bit of work to do the water pump but its do able, i did mine just doing an odd hour a night it took me about 3 weeks. Did Chunks on his car and took me about 12 hours on my 2nd go. Would take a competent mechanic 6 hours or so i guess, but if your getting them to do that get them to do the cam belt too as your as good as there once the pumps off.
  5. Does it hold a mudflap on?
  6. Black smoke or blue? If its blue could be pcvs or turbo seals.
  7. If they were a good idea surely a vehicle manufacturer would be onto it by now. Id be happy to test run it on the proton, but i wouldnt let it anywhere near the zed!
  8. magnatec is only semi synthetic, try a fully syn 5w40 or 5w50 if the problem re occurs, mine used to sound a bit ticky on start up but ive been using 5w50 for about 4 years and the noise never returned, previously to that i used 10w60 castrol rs.
  9. Ive used F1's for the past 6 years and so far the zed has stayed out of the bushes!
  10. What oil grade are you using? If your using a 10w40 then you could try a 5w40 or 5w50 as its thinner at startup and has more chance of giving the offending lifter a good soaking.
  11. give all the coil pack connectors a good hard press on and take it to the petrol station and bang some v power in, petrol loses its octane as it ages so if youve got 3 month old fuel in there its not going to be up to the correct ron level.
  12. They run on a small sprung ball bearing that pops in and out of a cup to lock it in place, they often stick due to crap getting to the ball bearing or cup, but quite often you will find cracks in the metal bezel, if you find these its new mirror time sooner or later. Tip if you are removing the mirrors try to get them in the half in half out position, so the ball bearing cant shoot out!!
  13. Gary Brosma i think his name is, hes released a new one called new numa, apparently he only did it for a laugh but it ended up in the public domain, he went into hiding for a time before reappearing realising he could make good money out of it. He started the whole annoying lip syncing that is all over you tube these days. I used to work with a guy at autojap that is the absolute spit of him.
  14. Are you forgetting the Silverstone thing the other year?
  15. Remember it well, we even had a fat tony police escort!!
  16. Wouldnt think youd be too bothered looking at your front plate in your sig!!
  17. Yep I agree, bosch wiper blades are great but i wouldnt touch bosch spark plugs in anything but a german motor. Nissan and renaults especially hate them.
  18. I can recomend JAPS in Coventry, my mate is the mechanis there and has done lots on my zed, 02476 474797 ask for Gaz.
  19. Never held one up against the other, but im sure ive got some in the garage i can go and look at. If i recall correctly the zfr's are slightly longer than the pfrs, but id have to check, but we are talking less than a millimeter i bet.
  20. Damn, didnt mean to put a curse on you!
  21. Do you know what oil the garage used? If they have put crap oil in then it may be too thick at start up, you may have a sticky lifter, quite common on older zeds, if your getting a ticking noise on 10w40 oil try a 5w50 as it will probably be thin enough at start up to give the sticky lifter a good soaking.
  22. Dont think there really is a "best" its down to personal preference, if your car is a daily driver id say platinums are the way to go, but if its a 2nd car doing not many miles and you change the plugs every year or so then the coppers make a sensible alternative.
  23. Indeed i can, but due to forum rules cant sell you them:x: If you googled 1st Class Autoparts in Nuneaton i dare say they could!!!;)
