Diff flanges
Does anyone know if a TT diff flange will fit a NA diff? Wanted to use TT prop instead of NA as its quite a bit larger and stronger.

The conversion begins
Swapped clutch thrust bearing tonight, gearbox being swapped on Saturday, got all the nice new shiny parts now. Using a press and a socket here to press bearing carrier out of the thrust bearing Here is the bearing carrier and bearing separated Here I'm pressing the new thrust bearing onto the carrier, it's ok to press on bearing face as it is a thrust bearing and that's what it is designed to do and it's not a excessively tight fit so not much force required

The conversion begins
Stripped and rebuilt clutch master cylinder tonight, very easy to do. See the difference in the new seal compared to old one! Should make for a good pedal.

The conversion begins
Got started on manual conversion this afternoon, got brake pedal fitted, clutch pedal and servo fitted, down to workshop on Wednesday to get box swapped and plumb in the pipe work and sort wiring, then get props bolted together and get them down to the balancing company. Going to bhp show in 2 weeks so that's my deadline to have it done!

exhaust sounds
My NA has super megaphones fitted, still with cats, sounds fairly quiet on idle can almost count the firing strokes at the rear, sounds good under load though, wait and see what they sound like after TT conversion before I decide if I keep them.

Clutch master and slave rebuild kits
And tweak the idle back down after the swap.

Clutch master and slave rebuild kits
Yeah I read that pin 44 is the one to ground for neutral position too, I'm gonna do a little testing before pulling auto tranny just to satisfy my mind what does what and when. Want to disconnect ignition barrel too to stop the key being retained as it does when auto shifter out of P range.

Clutch master and slave rebuild kits
Just the neutral switch wiring really to keep timing correct, I do a lot of auto electrics so its just a case of finding what wires are what at the range switch, and connecting to neutral switch, reverse and start inhibitor are easy enough.

Clutch master and slave rebuild kits

Picking up manual box tomorrow!
Early start tomorrow to drive 170 miles to collect manual box conversion, I'm like a kid at Xmas! Will I be able to sneak in a bit of spanner time over Easter break? Hope so.

Big end knock
As jeff said mate, a job which needs to be done right first time, patience with these cars is crucial! Remove engine mate, take your time and get it done right in one go, at least if its out and crank is scrap u haven't wasted time rolling on your back! Good luck pal.
-
Big end knock
Bite the bullet mate, pull engine, pray crank is ok and replace all mains and ends at once! Good luck.
