Anyone removed the delay on the interior light after closing drivers door? I have fitted an alarm and if I set alarm straight after closing door it thinks door is open because light is still on, and it chirps 3 times which is annoying at late night.

Finished off alarm install, now got remote locking and boot release on keyfob, just finished, going for some much needed food now.

I know exactly what you mean mate, had my first z when I was 22, had to sell it to fund a move to Spain for a while, I always promised myself another one and now I have! I drive many different cars at work and I can honestly say that none of them make me smile like the z! Even though some may be faster or stop better or be better on fuel, they just don't drive like a z! Good luck mate!

I started to install cat 1 alarm and immobiliser today, also fitted new double din head unit, back to the workshop early tomorrow to finish off.

Ok, just can't see how alternator wiring is linked to transmission type that's all.

Been reading a few writeups on manual conversion and a few mention changing the alternator wiring loom, can anyone verify this? Not sure why it's needed or if it's really needed or can the existing auto loom be adapted as required. This is my next job on the list.

I have the black tweed with 300zx embossed in white on front seats. Dash and doors in black tweed too

I don't think I will bother to retro fit any deflectors then, going off topic a bit now but a strange thing happened last night. Went out to move zed up the drive last night to make room for friends cars as we were having a bit of do at home, which today I'm regretting and I'm never gonna drink again! Car started with a flick of the key as usual moved forward about 20feet and switched off, but engine didn't shut off straight away it gradually petered out over a period of about 5 seconds. Never done this before and I restarted engine let idle for a minute or so then it shut off as normal. Anyone experienced this? No timers fitted and car is factory standard. 96 NA auto. It seemed like it shut down one cylinder at a time, very strange.

I've had the roof off the zed a couple of times this week and noticed that 60mph is pretty much the most I can go without the buffeting blowing my ear drums to bits, don't remember my last zed being like that. It's a 1996 model and doesn't have the pop up deflectors fitted, do these make that much difference?? Why did nissan drop them if so?

The politics of it all..... Only trying to offer something for nothing, no one is buying anything from anyone, I said I knew where one was located and will collect it if its any good, doesn't matter, in the skip it can go....

Hi all! Just a quickie to let anyone interested know that I have discovered the whereabouts of a GRP boot lid with the set back window, I don't want it as I don't like them personally but I will be going to see it tomorrow, if anyone is interested give me a shout. Will move to for sale section if I collect it.

Fitted hks air filter today, made up connection to bolt to afm, prepped headlamp panel for paint and started to prep gtz front lip for fitting.

Anyone tried theses dial faces before? There are some on eBay at the minute, look nice in pictures???? - - - Updated - - -

Any members got any advice or opinions on fitting this lip? It fits very nice holding onto bumper, any ideas on attaching it etc. thanks

Well I fix cars for a living but to be honest anyone that can understand and follow instructions could do it, only 1 special tool needed for the whole job! Theses are such lovely engines to work on, makes a change from the usual day to day cars I repair at work. (Which are crap!)

Replaced timing belt and all pulleys water pump etc today, if only all timing belts were that easy! Going out tonight to see what I can find going on, via the petrol station of course!

Cheers guys think I will spend the extra and go for the oem ones.

Anyone got any info on the fit and quality of the z centre crystal rear lights?? Can't find any genuine ones for sale at the minute.
