If it's got cruise control, then I'll have the column shroud with cruise control and indicator paddles.

Modding Idea R8 sidelights on zed headlights?
I think that's actually the worst design feature of the R8 and new A5. Looks really tacky. People were fitting lights to the front of their cars in the 70s. I think it looks really naff. I can see people doing this mod though like the Angel eye and Lexus lights. Done to death and very tacky. Reminds me of this.

Crush it?? What's actually wrong with it?

Ive managed to get down to these 3.... now help me choose
I'd go for the work rims. As much as I don't like the multi-stud look they have, I prefer them. But I'd rather have these as far as bronze rims go. I'd go with the Work Emotion XD9.

Head Unit Installation
You need the mounting brackets as you don't require the cage. The mounting brackets secure to lugs that sit behind the central fascia. Similar to the brackets on this....this is my old twin DIN headunits...I have to modify this to fit my 2din touchscreen headunit and 2din fascia. I believe one of these brackets is up on ebay if you have a hunt about along with a bose centre speaker. Just don't fit that, but use the bracket to mount to the stereo....infact, what happened to the mount from your old headunit?

What turbo?
Yes, this...in a thread about turbo sizes.

Who do you use in the US of A
Depends on the value of the goods. I think customs charge about 10%.

Who do you use in the US of A
None of them charge import tax. Customs do that when the stuff lands on UK shores.

Random!

Who do you use in the US of A
I think the company names need to be edited. It's Speciality Z and Concept Z...not Zed. ;)

There are loads more...see my 'links' thread! LOL I've also used Ionic Dynamics. Met the owner of this out in San Diego a few years ago. Top guy.

lovely merc
I do like the old Big Benz coupes. My fav is the CE320. Ripe for an SL55 engine. A modified one of these look good. This is pretty stock, but with an AMG bodykit, they look so retro-cool and sleeper.

Anyone running Avo springs?
I am considering the GC setup. I have KYBs in the garage waiting to be fitted. But they need painting satin black first.

550 BHP on pistonheads
I really like it apart from the offset number plate and nasty gauge pod on the dash. Think it has a great stance, lovely colour and nice arches.

Mmm, mixed reviews regarding the Avo.

gearbox layshaft bearing/ release bearing or something else?
Gaiter only effects 2nd and fourth. Could be your clutch is a bit low and you're getting noise from a worn thrust/release bearing.

Import question
Taxing a Z in Ireland is something like £400 a year. As for doing a road trip, that's the route I'd have gone. I can't imagine it's anymore expensive than chartering space in a container. To do it on a budget, you could take the Speedferries' vessel from Dover to Boulogne which is about £50. The drive down to Greece would depend on how many stop offs/breaks you needed. A friend of mine used to drive his Lotus Elise down to Athens quite a lot and I think he managed to do it in about 20 hours non-stop. But that's dangerous. I'd budget 2 - 3 days. I think Poseidon lines run from Piraeus (which is the port of Athens) to Limassol. But I believe the services have been suspended. Unsure as to why. Might be seasonal or something. Crossing is about 8hrs I believe, so I'd imagine that you'd be looking at a few hundred Euro for a crossing.

Out from hibernation
I need to tax my Z and take it out. Missing driving it. Although they salted the roads again last night. So it'll be staying in the garage for a few more days. Besides, I only have half an interior in my car at the moment.

Cleaned up throttle body cover
Looks good. Here's a shot of mine.

You can keep your snow thanks! Roll on summer!!!

Anyone heard from GIO?
Well, after the interior and suspension, the only things I am going to do is get some bigger brakes, 555 injectors, JD chip and a boost controller. I really do not want to spend anymore money on upgrades. Maintenance is fine, but I'm bored of pouring money into something that's now seemingly worthless. lol
