Are track days really worth it?
I know it's an old thread and it's been bumped...I'd never take my Z on the track...maybe a parade lap, but seen too many people's cars get taken out. Certainly wouldn't want the chances of a crash increased. I also couldn't thrash my car constantly for that period of time. I am contemplating buying a track car though and have done for a few years. Old Astra GSi or something, stripping it and having some fun.

Least the 348 doesn't have the same lights as the back of a City-Link bus. ;)

As much as I can appreciate the Zonda, they have the ugliest rear end of any supercar. :hurl:

I've considered getting a Ferrari 348 as my next car...but I just have such a strong yerning for an NSX....I dunno. Time will tell I guess.

Wouldn't have the Jag cabrio, it's an old person's picnic car. Just don't like cabrios...even though I've owned two! LOL Never really gotten into the current Mustang, actually prefer its predecessor....just doesn't look right to me, I think it's that rear 1/4 window that just doesn't look right and gives the side profile a crap look. TVR Tuscan is just plain UGLY. Looks like a giant wart. The only TVRs I'd have are the Cerbera, Chimera and Griffith of which I am quite a fan of. For me, it would be a toss up between the BMW 850Ci (although would rather try and find an 840 with manual trans...not sure the V12 was available in manual..?..and the V8 does sound better) and the Jaguar XKR hard-top. Have to say though, in standard trim, the earlier XKRs look a little boat-like. Later years were better when they fitted more aggressive wheels, skirts and bumper extensions. That's when the car really started to look good. The 8-series was one of my 3 choices of GT car when I was in the process of hunting for a Z. Not sure I'd have one OVER a Z though after being quite happy with the way they look and perform. They lack the all-important t-tops too which is why I was left with the Z32 and Gen 4 Z28 Camaro (would have fitted supercharger, suspension and others bits...transforms a crap car into a good one....I just loved the engine and looks). I chose the Z32...because it already was a good car. :)

Most import 'used' cars come in via car carriers. It's not that economical on older used cars which tend to be shoved on lower decks to fill up space. There's a lot of wasted space in containers if filled with cars and you'll end up paying full container load on one of these. Mercedes bring in the C-Class from south Africa via container and they have a rather funky stacking ramp meaning they can squeeze 2 cars into 1 TEU. Still a lot of unused space.

Somebody tried to steal my car
*****cks...wrong thread...anyway, sorry to hear about it Marcus. Emersons Green is supposed to be a nice area by all accounts.

Depends what type. Bulk carriers go down all the time. Car-carriers tent to fair a little better. They get badly affected by the weather due to their slab sidedness...most car carriers in winter months that enter the northern hemisphere get delayed. Think yourself lucky your car wasn't on the lower deck of the Cougar Ace. A ballasting error by the senior officers caused her to heal heavily to one side in bad weather and take on water a few hundred miles from the Ascension Islands.... The vessel didn't sink, surprisingly, she was re-floated by salvage crews and towed back to port. Luckily, due to correct lashings, most of the cars above the lower 3 decks were actually ok. Just vehicles that had been submerged were scrap. The largest type car carriers can carry about 6,000 cars.

Window Replacement
Did you get the right grade window for it? Yours is UK spec isn't it? IE, blue tint. Sorry to hear about the break in. :(

Central locking relay? E/W controller?

Looks quite nice, but as with all R32s, that interior is so miserable.

Whos waiting for the 99 spec Zed's to be imported?
Very slowly. Spent more time running new speaker cables and fitting sound deadening. Rear seats are done, rear quarters are done, glovebox and other forward fitting dash bits are trimmed, just the front seats and door cards. None of it's actually in the car as the interior has 1 seat in it! LOL Absolute mess at the moment. But it's slowly coming together.

Whos waiting for the 99 spec Zed's to be imported?
More for less? So updated interior, revised chassis, new trim, better transmission is 'less'?

I've got those already. Not crappy little ones, insulated ones. They seem well made and connect well. Thanks for your help. :)
