I think I'll need it! Not holding my breath about it, but going to give it my all.

Argh!! Bricking it!
I had an interview last week up in Liverpool for a job working back in the maritime industry. Looking at getting back into shipping. Not entirely enjoying my current role although doing ok at it. This new role combines my maritime experience with previous sales experience. I'll be out on the road just as much as I am at the moment. It's also a home based role which is nice. My current role is home based, but due to the IT infrastructure being so pap, I end up driving to one of the local offices when I need to do my own admin and planning. Well, I got through the first interview which apparently went quite well. I'm pretty good in interviews and always manage to raise a smile and I keep the questions flowing. I did come out thinking they had a few doubts which I did address in the interview and to make sure they were left with no doubts. I guess that paid off. Apparently they were very impressed. As with my current role, I had to go to head office for a second interview (I had 3 all in all for this one). I now have to go to London in a few weeks to do a presentation in front of the board of directors of one of the world's largest shipping companies! To say I am bricking it is an understatement!!!! I do want this role; not only is the pay substantially more than my current earnings, it gets me back into the maritime field which I feel I am best suited in. But Christ, no matter how many times you are sat in front of strangers doing either formal presentations or meetings, it doesn't get ANY easier! I have a feeling this one is going to be extremely tough! Luckily I have some help. One of my old bosses has offered to give me some guidance as he is port manager at one of my old jobs when I worked in Ships Agency. Will be looking to move back to Worcester I think if it all goes well. Only 45mins away from here, but I have more friends up there from my days with the MOD at Malvern.

Ok, I'm giving it a go with Z32-Zone
The outline shape is different. On a RHD model, the right hand leading edge as a different angle of slant. It's not much, but enough to mean that RHD and LHD panels are not compatible.

The panels are a slightly different shape between LHD and RHD. They curve round to one side. If you take the panel off, turn it round and draw round it with a pencil onto a piece of paper, you'll see what I mean. The clock also appears in a different position.

Turbo Timers????
Pretty much. You have better oil circulation as you're not on idle. You also have air feeding the radiator, so everything stays a little cooler too.
-
Turbo Timers????
They cool down by spooling down. Yes, you are partically correct. Basically they leave the engine running allowing the compressor assembly to cool from the lower gas temperatures in both the exhaust and intake tracts. At the same time the lubricating oil from the engine is able to circulate properly so the turbine won't burn the lubricating oil that would otherwise be trapped within the charger with the turbine rotating at high speed. But allowing an engine and turbos to cool down naturally by running it at lower revs and off boost is a quicker way too cool the engine down.

Turbo Timers????
A clock is not a pointless article.
-
Turbo Timers????
Just drive off boost for the last few minutes of your journey. Much better way of cooling the engine down AND it's free.
-
Turbo Timers????
Doing long/short journeys makes no odds on turbo timers and how effective they are. What they are suppose to do is to leave the car idling for a set period of time to help circulate oil round the turbos as they cool. The best way to cool turbos/engine down is just to plan ahead and drive off-boost for the last few miles. If you're doing very short journeys, the oil won't even have enough time to warm up, so you're advised not to use full boost in those instances.
-
Turbo Timers????
Why didn't you just drive the last few mins off boost? A far better way than just leaving the car idling.
-
Turbo Timers????
Ditto. Never really seen the point in turbo timers.

Spoiler Removal
Christ! Is that a UK spec?

Zed gets pulled over on police chase video
Nice to see a Z on a music video, but shame it was that one! Looks like a roundup of all the local McDonalds' car parks.

RS Turbo with NOS?!!?? LOL. Insult or what!

Ok, I'm giving it a go with Z32-Zone
Only ones available are for RHD cars AFAIK. Better off getting your original modified.

At the end of the list! LOL I have loads to do at the moment. I'm gutting the current system, running new cabling, sound deadening, not to mention retrimming the interior. Gonna be a few weeks before something's back in there! Run it through google translator.

Totally agree, although I do have a real thing for the Lotus Carlton. :)

Seat wiring question.
Hi John. I was going to attempt to do it today, but the weather wasn't too great. I ended up pulling all the old Bose housings out the back, running new wiring and sound deadening everything. I think the passenger seat will come out next weekend. But I will probably end up running a spur off it.

Hello from Norway
Would have loved to Steve, but don't have the time. Went to Strömstad in Sweden yesterday which was really nice. Absolutely fantastic scenery there. Very expensive here in Norway, but you're staying in what feels like national park everywhere!

Hello from Norway
Arrived here earlier today in Oslo in a blizzard! Never seen snow like it. 2 foot deep, drifts are nearly a storey! I don't like snow, but it's seriously impressive to see. Landscape is fantastic and unlike the UK, the country doesn't grind to a halt after a few snowflakes!! Doesn't feel cold either. Quite nice actually.

door pins
You should be able to get a door pin removal tool from Machine Mart or similar. Not that expensive. Maybe £12?

Running new speaker cables. Anyone done this?
Only if you're dumb enough to do it so the end is facing your eye!

Running new speaker cables. Anyone done this?
Might be worth me getting an old coat hanger, get a straight bit and poke that down, tie it to the cable and pulling it throught that way.
