  1. Where would I get them?
  2. I've used some crimp bullets on the speaker wiring. But only on the rears where I've modified the old Bose speaker mounts. That should be ok shouldn't it? What's the difference between electrical grade and motor factor type plugs/sockets?
  3. Mine are just cleaned up stock calipers with repainted lettering. Kinda like the grey colour of them. Don't really like brightly coloured calipers, especially on tiny little stock calipers. No need to draw attention to those! LOL If/when I go for a complete big-brake upgrade, then I'll be getting Tarox front and rear in the grey with silver lettering.
  4. These then. I've never had any problems with bullet connectors before. But I've only used them in this application once on my old car.
  5. Pretty much ok with knowing where they go. Just a check over would be good if you could spare half an hour sometime.
  6. Think you're right. Kinda wanted to do it myself, but I'd rather it not be damaged. I'll prep the wires and just get someone to connect them. I'll just put bullet connectors on the ends of the new wires and the back of the ISO block.
  7. Can you do that? Well, I can wire most of it. Just need someone to check it over. If you're offering that would be great!
  8. How does the antenna work then (actuate)? Sorry, not all that clued up on the Zs wiring.
  9. Nope, I don't use the Z for work. I have a 2 year old Mondeo for that! LOL I don't actually think I've ever driven my Z to Plymouth. So you work on the shop floor at Algram then as an engineer? I spoke to one of the maintenance engineers today and asked who owned it. I was down there looking at your hydraulic powerpacks today.
  10. This would power the antenna when ignition is on rather than when HU was on?
  11. ...am I right in thinking that the accessory wire should be wired to the smaller of the 2 black leads going to the antenna? At the moment they aren't and the antenna still goes up and down when the radio is/was switched on on the old system.
  12. Ok cool. I thought it acted as a switch and therefore needed a + to it?
  13. Can I disable that function? Just wire the parking brake lead straight to ignition feed? Yeah, not in a hurry to install it. Want to take my time and do it correctly. :)
  14. Remote turn on is for amp...cool...right. Getting somewhere. As I thought, audio interupt is for phone, so can ignore that one. Still have no idea what the parking brake lead is for!
  15. Alpine indicate the following.... Red: Accessory...would I use that for ignition feed?? Blue: antenna Pink/Black: Audio interrupt lead...what's this for? Does it mute if the system is connected to phone or satnav? Blue/white: remote turn-on...what's this? Yellow/blue: Parking brake...WTF??
  16. Doesn't work like that really. It's the relation the hub has to the centreline of the wheel.
  17. I thought it might have something to do with noise reduction as it's on the main feed. I'm good to extend the wiring and move it then.
  18. That would be great mate! Thanks. :)
  19. Right ok, well I'll have to extend the wiring and try and place it somewhere else. I have really limited space to work with because I've gone for the large 2din flat screen. Not sure where to mount it though. Maybe up underneath the steering column shroud.
  20. BSA are ok. Quite a cheap brand. Just a basic cast monoblock. Not bad though and the 359 is quite a decent looking rim. Dont' expect the finish to be as long lasting as more expensive wheels. 8J is quite narrow for the Z if you're going aftermarket especially on the rear. You can specify a wider rim but you may not get their 'special' deals if you go through that route. Would suggest 8.5" up front and 9.5 - 10" at the rear. Staggered dish makes the car look far more aggressive. You need to watch the offset though, get that wrong and you'll have all sorts of problems.
  21. Ok...the grey thing is actually a fuse. :o Might chop it out and fit a smaller assembly as it's huge!
  22. So what do I wire the blue to? The black lead that runs in tandem with the aerial cable?
  23. Right, the old stereo I had was a JVC double din 2stacker. Wiring isn't a mess, it's very tidy, but I can't make head nor tail of it. I am considering chopping all of it out as I'm running new cables anyway and want to save some space behind, so will put bullet connectors on the new wires and bullet connectors on the ISO loom that comes with my new Alpine head unit. Unfortunately, it looks like this...what's that grey thing? I can't find any reference to it in the manual. So all I'll need is a live feed? Do I need an ignition feed too? What point do I spur this off at? Oh, I also need to earth the headunit out, which is straight forward. The electric areal...now, I've had a look at the back of it (OEM Nissan aerial socket). Looks like it takes a pulse from the headunit to extend/retract as there is the main co-axial as well as another black wire. Am I thinking correctly?
  24. She actually likes Z32s and always rings me up if she's seen one. She's only called me once!
