  1. Doesn't look half bad on the outside! Looks like you have half of Alum Bay in the driver's footwell though! haha Replace the carrots and these awful caravan lights as you've suggested and it'll look tidy. R33 GTS-T
  2. NA has a lower ampage rate I think, but they are the same.
  3. Look at the whole thing. Looks like it's been put in a microwave and melted. Just plain minging. Traditionally, this appeals to dub-loving hipster types who wear flat-peaked baseball caps, baggy 'below the arse, but with a belt' jeans and those strange hoop things in their lug holes.
  4. Horrendous! There are more photos on SoCal Z32 facebook page. The dude that owns it lives in Hawaii. Car looks completely ridiculous not to mention, dangerous! It's on airbag suspension. Just a joke if you ask me. The whole car is a heap of dung, the only decent part of it are the rear lights. Those wheels would work with a wide-arch kit if you put correct fitting tyres on it. We can all pray that this stupid fad of stretched tyres and stupid camber will be over soon.
  5. Didn't know you had a LHD 3 series convertible Kev! :wack:
  6. Seen parts of this before, but never the full 3 part'r. Nice find, especially love the 80's porn-style music in the first video!
  7. I did I'm afraid. Got quite a bit for it actually. Kinda wished I hadn't sold it, but it was just sitting in the cupboard.
  8. Yes please! Sashimi selection box would go down well! Probably stink a bit by the time it lands in the UK!
  9. ...ok, back on topic....
  10. Before we go back to Tom's wheel.....I'll throw this in. If you're ever in SoCal, head to Taiko sushi, some of the best I've EVER had. Taiko Sushi in Irvine (Orange County). I ate there thrice it was so good. My dish....should get those taste buds going!
  11. Wish we had a better selection of sushi places in the UK. Yo! Ain't very good, fun to eat at, but Waitrose sushi is nicer (not bad actually, Waitrose sushi) - supermarket sushi is usually dog shit. Cali has them round every corner and they're all good and all fresh and you don't need to take out a second mortgage to eat there. You simply can't beat fresh sushi! Spicy tuna rolls being my favourite. I could live on them!
  12. Preferred the original bumper on your Z32, but the car looks lovely and damn clean! New wheels work well. Lovin' the T5R! 2CVs are awful, but they are an investment. Most you see for sale are worth more than Z32 TTs now, even shitty ones and their values keep going up (albeit by only a little). I remember a time when they were worthless and scrap dealers wouldn't even have them because of all the rot. Now, they command decent money for what is, in essence, a set of deck chairs bolted to a sewing machine. :)
  13. Sexual chocolate right there!
  14. Christmas? It's still November dude! lol Good luck with the hunt for parts. I am sure MJP will help if you wanted a new one. Come to think of it, Mike has a number of used parts too.
  15. Have a look on http://www.zclub.net. Z31 isn't really supported on this forum.
  16. I like the Filipinos better than most other nationalities on board. They were generally always really happy and jolly. When I was agent, I made good friends with a number of the Captains and was always asked to go and visit. Wonder if any of them or their families got caught up in that typhoon.....
  17. Who had to mop that up then? O/S?
  18. Our C/O did that, but he fell onto the cross-walk. Fortunately we were in Hamburg. I expect that stevadore was probably killed! Hell, even if a twistlock landed on them, it would kill them. They wear nothing but long white (but filthy) shirts and flip flips. No hard hats, no work boots/gloves. NOTHING!
  19. Fortunately, I never visited Djibouti or Mogadishu. Port Bin Qasim in Pakistan wasn't too nice though! Exactly on the having pilot exemption. As you know, it's mainly Captains on short-sea and ferry routes that get their exemptions. I was quite surprised at how small the Maersk Alabama actually was.
  20. I've worked in the shipping industry and sailed round the world on container ship, the ONLY thing that pissed me off about it that I found inaccurate was the fact that Captain Phillips sailed out of Djibouti with NO pilot. He slipped the moorings and did everything himself. In reality, he'd have had a pilot on board. But this was very small in comparison. I've seen some terrible Hollywood screenplays involving ships or maritime related things and generally, as you say, they're very inaccurate. This really was quite accurate I felt.
  21. It's factually based on a true story about a real Captain Phillips back in 2009 who's vessel was hijacked by pirates off the Somali coast and he himself was subsequently taken hostage. I watched this last night! Being a big Tom Hanks fan also, this movie ticked all the boxes! Kinda poignant too as I've sailed the route close to Djibouti, through the Gulf of Aiden and round the horn of Africa (Somalia). The Telex system always used to go crazy with pirate warnings around there. I was lucky never to encounter them. Anyone seen this yet? The screenplay, acting and camera work were all first-rate and capture atmosphere very very well. Seldom seen really in modern films with all their CGI and dreary plot-lines.
