Gutted!
Don't be unhappy. He's offering a refund, that's more than some members do.... If you can wait, wait until I go over next and I can take them back for you. :)

Gutted!
My bad, it was the fronts I sent him.

Gutted!
Yup! Pretty sure they are. I'll ask my source. However José has a2+0, so no doubt he would have trial fitted them.

Gutted!
I know José who owns Ionic Dynamics personally. There must have been an error as I've sent him a set of 2+0 rear spats. You want me to speak to him? He's a super nice guy.

Right, I'm going to be booking this up later today. Steve and I have discussed a few places. We're looking at doing a lunch gathering on the 14th! If anyone else is interested, speak now or forever remain silent! A dozen is a good start though!

Yeah, it's a photoshop. I have the original photo that it was lifted from somewhere. Minus the cannards, I don't mind it.

Any old school Ford heads in the house
I still maintain that you did your Dad a mahooosive favour! My Dad had a brand new Metro when they first came out back in 1980..... :wack: true story! I was only 1 and it was my parents' first brand new car together since they'd gotten married and moved away from London. Dad wrote off his Mini Cooper shortly before I was born - drove it into the side of a cement mixer....as you do! I don't think they kept it long enough for it to rust!...like 2 years I think! BL told him it was 'a car to beat the world' and most of the driving British public ate it up....for a few months until they started rusting out or breaking. Having said that, as much as I dislike BL cars and I have never been a fan of small cars, looking at a retro Metro Turbo.....they kinda look as good as what else was around at the time. Their competition was the Uno, Fiesta and Nova... ...without the Metro...we'd not have had the 6R4 ...and without the 6R4, we may not have had one of the most iconic supercars ever made....the XJ220 Having said that, we all drive Nissans....without their sports car range, their regular range is pretty miserable in itself. Nissan's own version of a piece of cheese, their quintessential pearl-rinse people mover, the Datsun Cherry. The Micra... The insipid 'Sunny', everything BUT its name-sake. Yes, they were reliable, yes they sold in high numbers and yes, they were fairly well made, but they had all the finesse and flair of an old shoe and have NOT aged gracefully. You could say that about some of their newer cars too... Their current Micra looks more dated than the one it replaced! It reminds me of a Tata Indica, which is hardly surprising since it was designed and built in India.

Sounds like you did your Dad a favour! They were known for their scrappy handling and stretchy handbrake cables! Not surprised it ended up in a ditch. I would go so far as to say it wasn't your fault at all, but SOLELY that of the Maxi!

In fact the only half decent vehicles to come out of BL in that era were the Triumph Dolomite Sprint and the Mini (which is questionable still IMO as they aren't what I'd call a 'good car')

Any old school Ford heads in the house
Don't worry yourself too much with what BL produced in the 70s and 80s, most of it hasn't appreciated to the levels we see of Fast Fords and Classic GM stuff. BL vehicles were the shittest cars on the planet and most people still think the same. My favourite car to 'hate' was the Maxi. Never was there an uglier piece of shit to come out of the West Midlands. 'Resplendent' here in all the horror of its dysentery beige livery.

pcv valves
It just vents gasses back into the inlet from the crank case. The valves are a basic ball and spring design. Ball opens at idle and lets gases out back into the inlet fannymould. When the engine is at speed, it all closes up. Yes, we need, you can't simply plug the hole, as you'll get blow-by, however as you've suggested, you can do away with them and fit catch tanks. However, on a regular road car, working PCV valves are just fine. I had mine replaced 8 years ago with new OEM items and they're just fine.

help with this
I believe it's pop riveted to the inside of the door card, it's not something you can buy separately, but I am sure you can get a shitty old tweed one for a few quid and remove it from that.

Leaked images of Car.mads wide arch kit....
Found all the photos I snapped of it. Looking at the time stamp, it must have been 2009 that I went on this cruise in Malibu. Started off as a breakfast run down to the coast and ended up in the LA canyons before heading back down to Griffith Park. Started off a bit murky (typical spring-time 'marine layer'), but it burnt off to reveal a nice warm sunny day. Looks like it's changed a little from when I last saw it. It's still owned by the same guy. Lee Masters is the chap in the burgundy t-shirt in one of the pics below.

lol! Dan, use parcel2go mate. I have used them before and I've had members send stuff me to me via them. They're pretty good.

Does anyone know what this would look like on a jap spec rear bumper
Have a look at the WinFactory one.

sending large parcel
You could always be careless and leave the parcel with a bunch of pikies, not get a receipt and then fail to respond to the buyer's emails and PMs!  :wack:

Leaked images of Car.mads wide arch kit....
Haaaha! Plenty! Two of the most impressive ones were Steve Millen's number 75 race car when I went to visit Stillen Motorsports earlier this year in California and of course Russell Floyd's (President of Z1) 1000+hp convertible; known Russell for years - great guy!

Ripped off again by a member of this forum!!
At the very least, I will get a 'proof of posting'. For something substantial either in size, weight or value, I will get a tracking number, that tracking number usually has a minimum insurance value of £50, you can pay little more and insure it for a high value. I do this even if it costs a little more. At the end of the day, it's not just piece of mind for you, but also the buyer. I couldn't live with myself for being slap-dash with other people's possessions or hard earned currency. I don't know how something could have been miss placed, lost, stolen or sent via mountain goat via Nobber Hill in Ireland when a tracking number is issued. Just saying. :) If something had gone wrong, I couldn't be quick enough to respond and to try and sort it out in a civil manner. It's the done thing. :)
